I especially appreciated how knowledgeable Chef Alex was about everything we were making. When I asked about the type of pan she was using and why, she gave such a detailed and thoughtful explanation, which I really appreciated. By then, we had definitely worked up an appetite! We started dinner with a delicious salad and focaccia bread, followed by pesto fettuccine made from the pasta we created ourselves. Then came Chicken Marsala with mushrooms, and ricotta-stuffed ravioli in red sauce, also handmade by us. One of the best parts of the night was the atmosphere. Cooking, eating, and learning alongside people you've never met before somehow felt so natural and welcoming. You genuinely leave feeling like you made new friends. If I had one honest critique, I do wish there had been more opportunity to personally season some of the dishes to taste, as I felt parts of the meal were a little bland for my preference. I also personally prefer softer pasta over a firmer al dente texture. That said, I completely understood why the pasta had that texture since we didn't have much time for the dough to fully rest and develop. I also think some light Italian jazz music playing in the background would have elevated the atmosphere even more and really taken the experience to another level. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would absolutely take another class. It's definitely worth it for the experience, the knowledge you gain, and of course... dinner! As soon as we arrived Susi handed each of us a personalized apron (probably the only thing that I'll ever see Chef Andrea on), told us to tie our hair back (I appreciate a hairless kitchen) and directed us towards delish apps and wine. But the night got even better... We were split into groups and I was placed into the capable hands of Chef Charmaine. My group was in charge of the upside down strawberry cake. Yum- I hope there'd be batter testing involved!! Charmaine gave each of us a job (mine was to crack eggs). We chatted and drank wine while we baked so it was actually fun. I may have given her a slight heart attack when I dumped the vinegar into the batter way earlier than necessary, but for the most part Charmaine made sure the others would be able to enjoy our cake. By the time I was over cracking eggs, stirring batter (and yes, even taste testing) it was time to sit down for a 5 star meal of gazpacho, flatbread, salmon, quinoa and the cake. I wasn't a huge fan of the salmon, but it was probably just me because it quickly disappeared from everyone else's plates. Everything else was absolutely incredible. While one group was cooking in the kitchen along side professional chefs the other group was being entertained in the dining area with some kitchen/cooking trivia which was loads of fun. The dining area is relatively small so I'm not certain what the capacity limit is for an event hosted by this company but my guess would be a cooking event by this company is probably limited to a group of about 50 at a time. Larger companies probably would have to break into two separate time slots (but of course only they can answer that question). The kitchen was very clean and we used quality pots, bowls and culinary products and it was apparent when you held the stuff. It truly was an amazing experience and the staff was patient and absolutely great. Heck we were even a tough crowd getting carried away during the entertainment portion. The staff probably wanted to hit us over the head with a couple frying pans but they were great sports! My only complaint from the event was that my company was cheap and didn't order beef, they opted instead for veggie options (Yuk!) but the food quality was great.

The format was organized without being too structured - there was a laid back and relaxed vibe so everyone was comfortable and felt included. We really appreciated the custom cocktails and the storytelling behind the choices - there were also options to make them your own. We had an awful experience hiring these people for our wedding. 100% DO NOT recommend…read more We provided very specific written instructions about our menu and serving and they completely ignored it. During drop off, the caterer also provided printed instructions that they just either didn't read, or outright ignored. They served pork sliders to our vegetarian guests even though the instructions and menu stated they were pork. During dinner service, they just ignored the provided instructions and menu and just decided to mix meat and shrimp into some vegetarian dishes - so we had to throw out tainted food, which was a waste of our money. Some tables barely got any food, other tables didn't eat until almost the end of the night. On top of that, one of the waiters called my wife directly to tell her that he would be late instead of contacting the wedding coordinator (we provided the coordinator info specifically to them so that he wouldn't be bothering the bride on the day of). We took a lot of time to get the menu right and provide detailed instructions to the staff, and they completely botched it. Not only that, but they had to throw out food because we took very specific care to ensure dishes didn't have allergens in them. It's fortunate that none of our guests had allergic reactions or anaphylaxis - this is the food service industry, and wholly unacceptable. Hiring these people put a huge damper on our otherwise wonderful celebration.
