The best tuna sandwich there is. Absolutely phenomenal.
    Craig S.

Red Alert Red Alert The best sandwich in Malibu- by far, is at The Malibu Ranch Market, literally an LA style liquor store/bodega with everything from Beach chairs to beverages, sponges to candy to work gloves to milk and eggs- located dead in the center on the bottom floor of a wacky Malibu podunk oddly shaped shoppping center on PCH directly across the street from the entrance to the Zuma Beach parking lots. It's a perfect store, there's literally everything you forget to take to the beach they have, everything you forget for your house they have, everything you forget for your life they have. Need sunglasses they have. Headphones, chargers, pails, shovels , scissors, everything. But the only thing that's SPECIAL is the tuna sandwich. I have mixed feelings about writing this review because this is my discovery and I've enjoyed keeping it a secret, only shared with a select few. Somehow today I have had a change of heart. One day a few years ago I played tennis up the street from this place and I was starved and was going to go to the beach. I went in and I saw these prepared sandwiches in plastic containers spread out sparsely in a deli case. Now I have never bought a prepared tuna sandwich in a deli counter in a wacky store with all sorts of things in it but it caught my eye. There were a lot of little details that peaked my curiosity- in short they looked like they had been carefully prepared, the opposite of premade sandwiches you see at airports for example. they were wrapped nicely in paper and had a napkin neatly folded inside the container. I asked the serious looking guy at the cash register how the tuna sandwich was and his dead eyes sparkled for a second - he looked at me and said " very good" in what i think was an accent from The Baltics. It was reminiscent to me of the time the artist Banksy sold original work at a stand outside of Central Park, and when someone purchased a piece the attendant gave a unusual nod and hug of approval. "Something is going on with these sandwiches", I said to myself. I bought one and headed to the beach. It's delicious, the bread is just a regular loaf of multigrain wheat I reckon, it holds the sandwich just perfect. No need for some fancy stupid bread. The tuna has a delicious quality that I've never tasted before, it's got some mustard, perfect celery, just excellent flavor. Then there are pickles in every bite, odd i know, but it's stellar. I have tested this sandwich out on multiple friends and they all concur, it's an outstanding sandwich..They also make a spicy tuna that has a sriracha vibe, the best thing to do is to buy one of each and mix and match. They're both phenomenal. It's 6.99 and it's a culinary delight.

Good selection but very expensive. Go somewhere else for liquor unless you have no other option or don't mind paying more than double.

Bookmarked for future trips near Malibu!…read more Stopped in for lunch and ordered the wings and the Wagyu double burger, and both were outstanding. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, while the wings were equally satisfying and crispy (they were able to make me some with no sauce). It was exactly the kind of meal I was hoping for after a full day at the beach and on the road. The location has plenty of parking, which is always a plus in this area, and there is a nice outdoor dining space in front where you can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air while you eat. What really stood out was the customer service. One of the employees working near the deli area, I didn't catch his name, but I remember his distinctive earring and tattoos, provided exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that customers had a great experience. The entire store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Even the restrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well the business is managed. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be stopping back the next time I'm in the area.

Now imagine it costs twice as much as Whole Foods. Boom. The only reason why it's 3.5 on 5 is the exceptional customer service. Really really nice and down to earth staff. You'd only go there if you are a tourist or a local who doesn't want to drive to a decent grocery store. Everything is mediocre. Ingredients are not clean. There's a lot of variety, from cut fruits to breakfast burritos, baguettes to bagels, sandwiches to poke. Many of the wraps and sandwiches looked sad and dry. $12 for cut papayas and $19 for small cut mixed fruits (if you are thinking organic, nada conventional). It's still decent to pickup overpriced staples in a rush, convenience, but not for stocking up your kitchen. Will we be back, probably, since any other store in western Malibu is a minimum half hour commute.

Jumped in here recently and loved it! We found a special wine for an upcoming 50th birthday party…read more In doing so, we were impressed with the wines and beers. The selection was varied and fairly priced. It was perfect. The bar was fun too. We sampled a beer and walked outside to see the back patio. It was perfect for an early evening in spring. The staff were lovely. Parking is easy. Hours are on their website.

Nowadays…read more.... There are sooooo many options of where you can purchase your adult beverage of choice. A recently turned 21 year old with no experience or even your middle-aged neighbor who you know is an absolute Lush now that she's retired will likely go to a Drug store like Rite Aid or CVS to get their weekly supply. Word on the streets is, they have amazing boxed wines ;) "I'll take a glass of your finest Franzia Cab." A busy Mom of 3 will probably pick up a bottle of her favorite "red"... And you know Stella Rosa is at the top of her list. I mean, might as well treat herself when she gets home after knocking out the bi-weekly grocery run. Am I right? Then there is always that one college kid on his way to a house party who for sure is going to stop at his local liquor store to grab a 30-pack so he can prove that he is once and for all, The Beer Pong King to all of his friends and that one girl he has been so desperately trying to impress. Best of luck my man! Or what about that recently remarried Dad who loves a good deal on wine and wants to stock up for that upcoming wine mixer that his young new bride wants to throw for this weekends Labor Day Soirée. I mean, Kirkland Signature Label has got to be legit right? I hear they also make a very tasty dog food as well ;) Just teasing ya Costco... I still love you. And finally, there's that one store, the museum of all things Alcohol. You know, The Total Wine's of the world. I remember my first time stepping into this place, and I was in awe. Aisles and Aisles and more Aisles of every spirit, liqueur, wine, or beer you can possibly imagine. But as impressive as all of this is, it's a bit overwhelming and it can be difficult making a clear choice with so many damn options to choose from. And then..... There. Was. One. Agoura Wine & Beer This space is refined, elegant and is welcoming to all who enter. With only one aisle that is lined floor to ceiling with both local and regional wines, & of course a small selection of craft beers, there is no doubt that you will find something here that you will love. Questions? Need a recommendation?? Still wondering the difference between Petite Sirah and Syrah aka Shiraz??? Yeah, me too. Well there's no need to wander aisle after aisle looking for someone to assist you like the other places above. Just ask one of their friendly staff who will be happy to help guide to what you are looking for. Wait!! What is that at the end of the store? Wine tasting? Beer sampling??... Move out of the way kids, Daddy needs to check this out. Yes, they have a small bar top in the back and a patio out back where you can wine taste or have one of their rotating beers on tap. (Sorry, no one under 21 in the back area, but hey, that's ok, we all need a little adult time). They do have a few packaged small bites available, but feel free to bring outside food. (there are a few nice eateries in the same Whizin's shopping center; my vote is for Two Doughs Pizza!) So... To my Conejo Valley and Adjacent locals who are looking for a little more intimate wine purchasing experience whether on Domestic or Imported Wines or even local craft beers... I say, come check out Agoura Wine & Beer. Have a nice glass of wine or a hefty pour of beer and then get some one-on-one time with of of their staff who can recommend a bottle or two or even three to bring home to enjoy later. Pro Tip: If they happen to ask you, what is your favorite kind of wine, for the love of God, please don't say "boxed". Instead... 1) Say your varietal. (Cab. Pinot, Chenin Blanc, Burgundy, etc.) 2) If you don't know that, at least throw out a color (white/red/rosé) 3) heck, throw out your favorite vintage, maybe they have the "good stuff" in the back. So, who's ready to go wine/beer shopping? I'll be waiting by the bar!
