So I met my wife in 2002 and I started seeing Dr. Myer for my teeth around 2005. I just want to say what a great Dentist he is! State-of-the-art technology, Truly a professional ! And he has a great team working for him; and it's shows. Seeing employees that have been there over twenty yrs, etc! I had a root Canal done on 5-4-22 by an outside consultant for Dr Myer on root canal jobs- I'm so happy how it turn out! No pain after numbing the area. And I fill great now! DO NOT go here. I came in 5 months ago for a cracked tooth and 5 months later it hasn't been fixed. The initial permanent crown was done incorrectly and was only noticed by another dental office a month later. Since then, they can't seem to get a crown to fit after 2 months of trying. Eventually they said they have to re-prep the tooth. Sent me home with a temporary cap that fell off in like 3 days and when i called their dental emergency number the lady said he's out of town and i gotta wait til monday. I can't even drink water without extreme pain. NOT TO MENTION I've been cancelled on, postponed, I've come in and DR ERIC MEYER comes back 30 minutes late from lunch, delaying my appointment. I was hesitant to make an appointment with Dr. Meyer after reading the negative reviews on his outrageous prices. I started thinking more rational that I have had the best dentist in the past who was excellent and ethical but passed away from cancer. I have also had some pretty rotten dentist who do not update or clean their facilities, have too many staff changes, difficulty understanding doctors because of limited English, offices who are so hard up they want to perform all procedures in one day, poor quality. I wanted someone who could understand me so I set up an appointment thinking that if I am not happy I can go elsewhere, I am grown and know what I want. I have a terrible bite, so terrible that the new so called crowns the two dental offices before going to Dr Meyer, were supposed to be the strongest material ever for crowns, cracked into pieces. I was so done with these "inexpensive" "budget" offices that I decided I want gold crowns on my molars, I was so tired of this "high tech" material. Dr. Meyer office is not only esthetically pleasing, you can tell the staff likes working in the office/Doctor. I did not see them running like chickens with their heads cut off, very professional. They provide. coffee and water and peace. I enter the room for an exam, I see no dust bunnies, beautiful view. Now I know good dentistry does not mean a beautiful view but it tells me the dentist, staff cares about quality and on point. I loved the hygienist she did not cause me any pain. The assistant was a perfect young man, and office manager a true professional. The dentist was in good spirits and did evaluate and suggested the course of action. to set up an appointment for new crowns. I did specify gold crowns only. Medicare will not cover gold crowns the gold crowns are expensive but I was willing to pay for a more superior product for my historically bad bite. Since the procedure I am extremely pleased that these gold crowns fit so well, they feel so good and I love them. I am pleased with Dr. Meyer as my choice as my dentist. read more

Came here because of a chipped tooth. They told me it has to be replaced with a crown. I asked if we can just try fill it. They said it's not possible, but I am welcomed to get 2nd opinion and since I didn't have anything done I won't be charged. I went somewhere else that was able to do a filling for me: months later I got a letter from eric Meyers office trying to charge me. Not only did they want to do a crown which would be more painful and costly, they told me that was the only option, filling wouldn't fix my problem. Well it's been months and the filling from other place has been lasting fine. Appealed to be charged months later even if I didn't end up getting any treatment here. (TL;DR Great service, insanely high prices) I have been going here since I was a child. The staff are great, and the work they do here is great. Dr. Meyer himself has always been very kind. However, they over-charge for their services. I was given a quote (with insurance) for a crown that left me with a gut feeling that it was off. First, I checked average crown prices on as many websites I could find, and his quoted price was off the map. I called around, and found that another practice contracted with my insurance had a quoted price about HALF as expensive as Dr. Meyer. The office manager at the practice I ended up choosing was dumbfounded by my quote, saying "we wouldn't even charge our cash (non-insurance) clients that much." When I went in for an appointment with a different local dentist with a stellar rating on Yelp, I was even More shocked to find that his opinion on the tooth Dr. Meyer said needed a crown (increasing my fear with "we need to do this soon or it could become a Root Canal") -- didn't need a crown at all! His opinion was that the crown recommendation I had received was "conservative, at best." When I called to cancel the crown appointment I had scheduled with Dr. Meyer, I found that when I explained why I was canceling my future appointments, the office worker didn't sound surprised at all by the price difference (or try to refute it or negotiate). It made me feel like this was a common issue that caused clients to leave. Every single staff member welcomed me with genuine smiles. To me that makes all the difference. The problem I had with Dr. Meyer's office is that it's VERY EXPENSIVE, even with insurance. They over-charged me for everything - claiming it wasn't covered by my insurance. What really bothered me was that he had his assistant do all the prep work on me. I never had a dentist do that. I was paying premium, when he wasn't doing much of the work. Really?! I don't like shots... especially when it's done by a young assistant. Don't get me wrong... Dr. Meyers is a very nice guy. But I didn't like having his assistants prep me and told him so. Did it change? Unfortunately, no. I finally took my kids and left the office. My husband stayed there because he hadn't had any real dental work done there and liked the hygienist. He finally left when he started needing dental work and realized how expensive all the charges were (even with insurance). He's not the type to complain, but it became so egregious that he did talk to them. They claimed that we must have changed our insurance because that wasn't the one on file. Really??? I had the same HMO insurance for over 10 years. It turned out that they were charging him double & triple the allowed amount. I would not recommend this office. read more

This was my first visit here, and I have to say it was a great dentist visit. The receptionist was extremely nice and so was the rest of the staff. Dr. Meyer was really nice and was very knowledgeable. His dental hygienist did an excellent job at cleaning my teeth. The office has a great view of the golf course in almost every room. The hygienist and Dr. Meyer both explained in detail each X-ray that needed attention. As a first time patient they give you a cute candle in a gift bag along with a card welcoming you to their office. It's really nice to finally find a good dental office. read more

My story very similar to other reviews. Really shouldn't even receive 1 star. Within 2 visits of seeing him for the first time his hygengists do a quick crappy, sloppy job cleaning. And dr Meyer said I needed 2 crowns, 1 tooth slightly bothering me and other I didn't notice anything. Apparently I was too trusting and figured he knew best. Probably didnt need either He told me 1 price and then when it came time to put crowns in the price changed. He tried to sneakly upgrade the crowns and have us pay a little more. On top of it the lady whom works at the front desk and deals with insurance is extremely unprofessional and down right rude! Found another dentist right after all this and was told what a poor job he did. I am so irritated and disgusted with his office!!! read more

Been looking for a dentist to settle down with and Dr. Meyer won't be the one. Pros: His office is very clean, organized, modern equipment, flat screen TV's in every room and there is plenty of parking in front of his office. His staff is very nice and friendly and I have to give it up to his dental hygenist, I believe her name is Mindy. Mindy is great!! Dr. Meyer's work is not to shabby either- no complaints from me. I never felt like he was over diagnosing to make $ off of me. Cons: Any procedure with Dr. Meyer is VERY expensive. He charges quit a bit more for basic services compared to other densist I've had in the past- deep cleanings, white fillings and crowns were all VERY costly. I often found myself in sticker shock when his staff was reviewing cost for procedures. Also, paper work provided makes it seem like he may work with you on pricing but it's not the case. For the most part this is why I had to go else where. Bottom line: I don't want to pay extra for the fancy office, flat screen TV's and view of the golf course. If I can find a good/trustworthy dentist with reasonable prices and less fluff...I'm in. read more

I hadn't realized how long I'd been with Dr. Meyer until he mentioned that his son, who was about to enter junior high when I started going there, was now out of school and joining the Army. Time flies. I shopped several dental offices before I found Dr. Meyer. One of the main reasons I selected his office after my previous dentist sold his practice was the cleanliness and highly professional and patient friendly attitude from the whole staff. The front office runs smoothly, the staff treat each other with courtesy (not as common as you might think) and this attitude obviously comes from the top. Well, not a good experience here. A dependent of mine on disability was looking for dentist in the area that would accept her plan. They said they accept the plan, so we got a quote for a bridge...quite high I thought. Then I realized that their "insurance" reduced cost was the same as what I pay full price at my dentist. So...in truth, no discount. On top of that, they quoted necessity for a 4-tooth bridge. Second opinion assured me that only 3-tooth bridge was necessary. Needless to say...we went with second opinion, less cost, less point of failure in future. Oh! And Dr. Meyer pushed the urgency of getting it done ASAP...because of tooth decay. Found out...no decay...just previously broken tooth and area that was not actively decaying or infected or anything. Did not get a good feeling with the whole "Hollywood lawyer's office" feel of the whole place. Glad we didn't stay. read more

I will first say I have had Dr. Eric Meyers as a dentist for over 10 years. I will also say that the dental work has been ok with the standard fillings, root canals and crowns. I started to notice a change a few years ago in office staff and the business side of his practice just didn't add up. His procedures started to get higher and unreasonable in price. Our Insurance is the best in the Industry. It pays 95% to 75% for most all procedures and yet the last quote I got was almost $1k for a deep cleaning. That was the last straw. I called my Ins. Provider , only to find out my share after Ins. was $50. I checked and double checked. I will admit it is my responsibility to not trust and make sure to verify. The last time and I mean last time, we ever used this office was for a root canal for my son. Again we were over charged by 50%. No more. Got go now . I have an appointment with a trusted Dentist. After being a loyal patient for 3 years, and bringing my family here. I will no longer return. I like the office, it is very clean and state-of-the-art, but when it comes down to it, your customers and your patients should feel welcome. Your staff that answers the phone, leaves messages and interacts with you should be kind and professional. It does not matter about the dentist, you can find great ones anywhere - try 1-800-dentist. I am very disappointed with the front end staff. 1. I had a cleaning appointment on Thursday. I arranged to have my kids picked up from school and taken care of at their grandmother's house a few blocks away. 2. I got stuck in terrible traffic off the 60/57 freeways and out of courtesy called to let the office know I may be a few minutes late. 3. The lady answering the phone did not apologize or act with any type of empathy, rudely told me to hold on while she spoke to the hygienist and then after 3 minutes on hold told me I had to reschedule (these appointment are booked 6 months in advance). 4. I said "well let's go ahead and reschedule, what do you have open?". She said "October 15 at noon". 5. I asked "well can you tell me what day of the week that is, I am driving and not looking at a calendar?". Again, no apology just "yeah" , "Wednesday". 6. I hung up feeling awful and could not stop thinking about the lady that was a total "B" to me. She made me feel like I was scum for missing my appointment and could not even say "thank you", "thanks for the business", or "we look forward to seeing you"...etc. 7. The irony is the freeway cleared up and I passed their office 6 minutes late on the way to pick up my kids!!!! I was refused service because of six minutes. My husband has open enrollment next month and we will change to his dental insurance, I will not return to this location. It is too bad, I really like our hygienist Mindy. She is so kind and does a great job but at the end of the day - your front end staff reflects you and your business, and Dr. Meyer must be okay with the way they treat patients, even past reviews speak to the bad behavior of the front staff. I would hope he holds a meeting where they all get some much needed training on respecting patients and treating people with kindness. read more

I had 2 crowns worked on today and I have to say it was the best dental experience of my life. The hygienist administering the shots did it without causing any pain - that's never happened to me. Dr Meyer was very understanding about my fear of fatigue from keeping my mouth open during the procedure, he took many breaks so I could rest my jaw and was so quick to finish, I was very pleasantly surprised. I also expected to feel a lot of pain this afternoon, but it's actually much less than expected. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend this practice. read more

One thing I want to mention here is for some of this treatment, I blame myself for trusting this dentist and not being proactive. To start, I went to Dr. Meyer for routine cleaning and xrays. He was very professional and charming. He "tested" one molar and I did feel some pain. He said the tooth needed to be removed and a bridge would have to be made. I was then referred to someone else for the removal. That's another story that I won't get into now. After the tooth was removed, I returned to Dr. Meyer, he said in addition to the bridge I would need 2 more crowns. The process at this office is the dentist tells you what you need, then he sends his "sales rep" in to give you the bad news...the cost..and it's almost like buying a car - these figures they throw at you were confusing for all the cost of the services.I ended up paying approx. $6000.. for a permanent bridge and 2 crowns. The bridge was two crowns and a fake tooth in between, plus 2 other crowns and now, some fillings.The original estimate was higher, but we negotiated and they knocked off about $400. (note: after treatment was complete - I met one of the office staff at a kid party and she said she knew about my treatments and felt I was overcharged and I could've negotiate the cost down further.) He has his assistance do most of the work, he comes in and checks on the progress and continues on. After weeks of dental work, it was all done. During that time I realized I made a huge mistake, I felt the quality of his work was shabby. He could never get the crowns to fit right. I just wanted to get it over with. I ended up going to a different dentist (after I changed dental plans) and the new dentist couldn't believe how bad the work was. The bridge looked liked it had "crackling" going thru it - a sign of overheating..the crowns were loose, too big and color didn't match. The new dentist ask why was the tooth removed, I told him what happened and in his opinion ( without seeing the xrays -which I tried to get but Dr.Meyers' office wouldn't give them to me) he said the tooth probably didn't have to be removed. This was based on the the fact that I wasn't experiencing any pain prior to the removal. Eventually, the bridge and 2 crowns were replaced - and what a huge difference it made! This work was done a few years back, I have spoke to other people who have had similiar bad experiences with Dr. Meyer. Don't waste your time or money on this dentist like I did. read more

I went to Dr. Meyer as a new patient because I wanted to check out a dentist who was closer to home. Initially, I went in just for a cleaning. At the end of my appointment he had told me that I needed two crowns. My cost was going to be $2,500 + which seemed like a lot to me, plus I'm 24 and a crown seemed a bit unnecessary. I decided to get a second opinion from a dentist that I've been going to since I was 5 years old. He told me that I absolutely did not need a crown and that all I needed was a filing. He said this is exactly what he would tell his own granddaughter. I feel that this dental office is a scam! Most places have different opinions but I think if I really needed a crown, all dentists would tell me the same thing. I would not recommend this dental office. Came here as a new patient for a root canal. They told me I need $2,200 of work which I found shocking. Had the root canal and crown done at the tune of $600. $370of that was for a "gum contour" which I would think be included. After a year of slight pain I found a new dentist to look at that same tooth and was told they probably missed some nerves. Now I have to see a specialist. They're nothing but scam artists. I would sue if I hadn't signed a book of documents. read more
