My x-rays and cleaning took close to an hour and half to complete. There was no explanation why. They took payment before my treatment and afterwards I noticed I never received the laser treatment despite being charged for it. They did refund the fee when I asked them to. They recommend a deep cleaning despite my previous cleaning being 3 months prior and me being very careful with my teeth. This would be an additional $480 on top of the several hundred I had already paid. After some discussion they said they would do it cheaper because only my upper right side needed it. They tried to charge for the full mouth as I was leaving. I was skeptical if I even needed it and felt very pressured to take this treatment. I was told two times they'd fill in my prescription. They didn't. I've been going here for several years and the staff are always changing which in my opinion is a red flag. I won't be going back. read more

Was searching for a new dentist came here because it's a nice area and I was referred here from the people next-door that did my bone graph for an implant. 6 Months went by and they did not call me or try to schedule a day for me to get updated about my implant also I specified over the phone that I needed a cleaning. AVOID at all costs! Ditto to the comment left on 5/23/2025 regarding wait times. Short version: Avoid this place -- disorganized, disrespectful of your time, and zero accountability. There are dozens of other dentists within blocks of this place. Long version: I had an appointment on 6/27 that I booked over two months in advance -- just for a basic 6-month cleaning. One hour before the appointment, I got a call telling me I needed to contact my insurance to list them as my primary provider -- or else I couldn't be seen. That should've been the first red flag. When I arrived, the front desk staff were all new, clearly confused, and told me they were "short-staffed." If you're short-staffed, why not reschedule me during that call an hour before? I arrived at 10:55 AM and checked in. At 11:05 AM, I received new patient forms via text -- why weren't these sent in advance? I filled them out right away. X-rays were done in silence from 11:10-11:20 AM. That's fine with me because I don't like small talk, but if you prefer friendly staff who make you feel comfortable, this place isn't it -- it's awkward and cold. At 11:20, I was seated for the dentist to do her usual 5-minute exam. No cavities, no deep cleaning needed. Just the standard cleaning and some filling. At 11:30, someone brought me a quote and told me to wait -- the hygienist would be in shortly. Then... nothing. From 11:30 to 12:00, no one came. Not even a courtesy check-in or an apology. I had to walk up to the front desk and ask what was going on. Their only response: "Someone will be with you shortly." I waited. 12:05... 12:10... 12:15. Still nothing. I asked again and was told they didn't know how long it would be. For a scheduled appointment made months in advance? The whole time, I saw only two other patients in the office. This wasn't some high-traffic day -- just bad management. Finally, at 12:30 -- an hour after my cleaning should have started -- the hygienist arrived. She apologized and told me that "there were technical difficulties, and my appointment should've been canceled," but no one notified her I was there and she was on her lunch break. So now you've got an overworked, frustrated employee and a patient who will never return. The cleaning itself lasted about 15 minutes. At checkout, they asked if I wanted to reschedule. Absolutely not. And no -- I don't want to email you or call you "so you can make it right." I don't accept the "we were short-staffed" excuse. If you can't manage scheduling or staff properly, you shouldn't be in the medical field. People trust you with their time, health, and well-being -- and this office failed on every level. People take time off work, unpaid, and have some decency in being honest if you can't see a patient. The only positive note is to thank the hygienist who was pulled from their lunch to work; may you find a better job in the future! read more

I've come in a couple times and they said their main dentist has left the building already, had an emergency, or called out. I just went in for a routine cleaning and tried to charge me $900 to do something with a laser? Which is only needed for severe bleeding gums, gingivitis and other serious oral issues which I don't have. What a joke. We came here for a routine cleaning for my teenage daughter. Waited over an hour before they called her back. It took another 40 minutes before they started the actual cleaning. When I asked the staff why it was taking so long, first they blamed it on new insurance (I brought my other daughter a few months ago and it took maybe 10 minutes, same insurance situation). Then they said they're short staffed. That's fine, but they should have let us know beforehand. There's no reason we should be at the dentist for nearly 2 hours for a basic cleaning. I was scheduled to receive a crown on 1 tooth. I was prepped for it 1 weeks prior which on customary. I received a text reminder yesterday which was nice. When I arrived at the office the door was locked. After several minutes I called the office and reached voicemail. I left a message asking about my confirmed appointment. I saw people arriving and going into the office next door so I went in to ask if they knew about the closed office next door. I was told that they would be able to see me there. Okay? They explained that they were short staffed. I sat down and waited 40 minutes. I went to the staffs desk and said my appointment was at 10:00am and asked if the Dr was running behind schedule? They decided that they would take me back and seated me at the other end of the suite. No apologies, no greeting from the assistant as she put the towel around my neck. After sitting in the chair for 10 more minutes the dentist finally came to me and nonchalantly asked how I was. I told him I was not very happy with the time spent waiting. He offered no reason or apology. It's so sad to see the quality of patient centered care being so unimportant in healthcare. There is no pride in good patient care in this practice. Rescheduled 3 times over 1.5 month process for JUST teeth cleaning and fills. STILL not complete. At this point, I am moving on to a different dentist. Great people, but there is zero accountability or responsibility when it comes to scheduling. This is the worst customer experiences I've ever had in my life. There was not one, but TWO instances where Fullerton Dental Associates reached out the DAY OF my appointment to reschedule. The dentists/hygienists have conflicting schedules, so if you have to clean and fill your teeth and you want it to be on the same day, I urge you to stop wasting your time here like I have. Fast forward to my latest appointment, keep in mind this is after 3 reschedulings already and 1.5 months since my original visit. The morning of, I had this feeling where I just know that they are planning to reschedule. You don't get that feeling unless it's happened so many times before, where you start to feel it in your gut. Because of that feeling, I call them to absolutely make sure that after waiting 1.5 months, and rescheduling 3 times - that they are able to both CLEAN and FILL. They said yes. I get there and after further examining my teeth they said I need to do deep cleaning and not regular cleaning, and I will need to reschedule. On top of that, they were charging me more than the original quote. I was very frustrated at this point, and when I brought up all of this to the receptionist, she said it was due to my teeth needing a deep cleaning vs a regular cleaning. Which I'll give it to her, because it has been a while since I cleaned my teeth. But my point is, the client pays for the incompentency of the business and their failure to set proper expectations. I've been x-rayed 1.5 months ago, and the dentist mentioned potential deep cleaning. They've rescheduled me 1.5 months past my original visit, at the cost of my dental health, whilst knowing I may have needed deep cleaning. They scheduled me and promised me a cleaning and a filling, whilst knowing I may have needed deep cleaning. And when the day finally comes, they are surprised and need to reschedule because my teeth need deep cleaning. There are no systems in place and a serious lack of awareness as a business, which ultimately equals the reason where I felt so inclined to leave this review. I never leave bad reviews, EVER. But I hope that the business can read this seriously and make some changes. And I guarantee you if the company does seek accountability internally, they will not find anyone who wants to be accountable. And there in lies the problem with this business. Once you are able to escape the logistical nightmare, they do provide a great service, which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one. A little over a year ago, here people tried to pull my son's wrong tooth. An adult one rather than a baby one. They said they couldn't read the referral. It was clearly marked. I made another appointment and they did nothing, which led me to walk out, demanding they do not charge my insurance. They swore not to. Unfortunately, they were accidentally referred to again under the doctor (hossein) instead of the practice name. They only do extractions. They don't do anything more than a regular dentist can. The possibly needing a biopsy? Nope. Which is literally an extraction, then sending to lab to be examined. They won't do this. Ok. Call for records. They won't send them electronically with permission. So I have to pick it up. I walk in and she tells me she'll be with me in a moment. Then what I need. Ok, well..... I have records here to pick up. "For who? What the name?" I tell her. "Next door". Ok. So I go next door. (Ace although it's adjoined to family and cosmetic dentistry, and dr hossein). Ace sends me back to the other side. I walk out saying "this place has literally never been anything but drama." And back next door. I hold my hand out in a gesture like I'm asking for paperwork and state that they sent me back. That it was her side that had it. She holds her finger up at me and says "what is the name?" Again. Then tells me to wait. Goes and retrieves it. Hands it to me without saying a word and as I'm almost out the door, says "have a nice day". But was rude from the beginning. Go anywhere but here. Nothing but issues. Dr Abdolhosseini is amazing. I have phobia of dentists and especially when I had to get my wisdom teeth removed. I was worse then I child in his chair :) But he's so calm and knowledgeable that I didn't even realized when he extracted my teeth. I was asking him so " when are you going to start?". He looked and me and said all done :) Best dentist ever. I was so happy with him that I also brought my mom, my dad and my two boys here. I had two crowns done by Dr. Hoissen 2 years ago. From the same day it was placed it didnt feel right. He filed it down, "checked it", said it was normal for it to feel sensitive, took xrays. And after the 3rd or 4th time of going back and forth he finally suggested that the tooth was cracked originally and that I would need a root canal. Now that I finally found a new dentist, the xrays at this new place clearly showed gaps at the bottom of the crown, where liquid and sugars can get in causing me the pain I complained to him about 3 or 4 times. He obviously did a crappy job and is just a crook seeking to get more money out of me and my insurance at the expense of my teeth. The staff is great but Dr. Hoissen is a crook. read more

May 4, 2020 I got my wisdom teeth on my right side taken out. I was very nervous because of past experiences at a different dentist office , however this staff and doctor made feel really comfortable. The dental assistant explained everything throughly so I would feel more relaxed . The doctor came in talked to me as well and was done pulling them out in less than 10 min. I was shocked!! FRAUD Beware! This Office has committed Government FRAUD. Under the Department of Health Care Services, Denti-Cal is designed to help the people that need dental services in a time of need. Unfortunately, I have found myself in need of this service. Upon my first visit,7/20/2016 everything seemed normal and as time progressed it went down-hill. Fullerton Dental Associates billed for 'delivery" of Dentures and were paid on 8/18/2016 just 29 days after my first visit. Subsequently, I had 6 appointments over 4-Monts and still no Dentures. They were quick to take MY money saying I owed a "Custom Tray Fee" and the Government's money by billing the Denti-Cal office of State of California-Health and Human Services Agency literally as soon as I left the first office visit. Shame on you Evelyn, the Office Manager, and I'm sure that the California Licensed Dentist(s), California Board of Accountancy are NOT happy seeing this and having to answer to your carelessness. Well about $500 later I realized he was taking me for a ride. He implied that I needed "deep cleaning" because I had slight gingivitis... OK Gross first off because I take very good care of my teeth... Well I found out that the amount of cleanings that I got was for someone that had like necrotizing gingivitis not something that gargling with Listerine would fix. Let's be honest people, Going to the dentist is never fun... the dentist works with two of the most sensitive parts of the human body, the mouth... and the wallet. It makes it easier when there are nice and honest staff, doctors and people who actually care about you, your health along with your oral hygiene :) I hid from dentist for many years, as a result I needed a lot of work done... Wasn't so fun, actually it really sucked... but I didn't mind so much because of the great staff and treatment - While working on my mouth, if it was too much too soon, they would listen to me and give me breaks as needed. After the initial exam they gave me recommendations and honest truth which I really appreciated, didn't feel high pressured at all. I recommend them. Im very disappointed they make my dentures the button one is loose and the upper one they make me 2 upper dentures and they dint not fit me good one it was big they where to big didn't make the teeth correct i look like mouse with those ugly dentures so i will not recommended this place the doctor told me if you are not happy i can refund the money to your insurance you can only return the upper one last time a when they said i have to return booth so i just used the bottom one so don't go here for dentures they don't know how to make them . Worst place to go to son broke front adult tooth... they checked with insurance said it's all approved for crown plus for good tooth insurance wouldn't cover cost for better tooth told them no problem. I just came from there and the first thing I did when getting home was change to another dentist. I needed a root canal and when I made the appt. was told my co-pay was $190. I went for the appt. and they tried to upsell me anywhere from a gold fused crown ($600) to a bridge ($3200). No, I said, I just want the $190 crown. Finally, the dentist began the work. About 30 minutes into the procedure, the front office lady (Emma--who is not very nice) comes running in and telling me I forgot to check the price with my insurance and my co-pay is actually $390. (BTW--I have never called the insurance to check if the price the dentist gave me was accurate.) I explained I agreed to the $190 but she kept saying they needed to get paid. Whatever. I went back for my crown today and this was elevated to the new office manager, Dwight. He explained he was sorry I was told the wrong price but the dentist office needed to make money off the service and the cost of the dentist alone for a root canal was $150. (I guess I was supposed to feel sorry they only made $40 off the service.) He said if I continued to treat at that office and went forward with a bridge or an implant, they would use the $200 to give me a "considerable" discount on further services. Sounds like bribery to me. I try to be ethical in my dealings and walked in ready and willing and in agreement to pay the $190. They doubled the price after the work began. Even if it was a mistake, they are bound to that agreement. They are not ethical and I won't be going back there. Learn from my experience and find a dentist elsewhere. read more

I have a lot to say about this business and before I get started please refer to my other reviews and notice that I really don't like to leave bad reviews unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary. Few months ago in June I visited the office and was told that I needed to have my teeth pulled. No problem I asked for a quote and received a quote for $400 per extraction totaling in about $1200 plus. This seemed a little bit high to me so I decided to call other dentists and see what they charged for the same procedures a total of 3 other places quoted me lower than Fullerton Dental Associates so when they called me to ask if I wanted to move forward I kindly said no and that I was planning to go elsewhere. Later on that day I received an email from Fullerton Dental Associates saying that they could not reduce their price only to be followed by another email from a different person at FDA saying that they would gladly reduce their price. (SHOULD HAVE BEEN SIGN ONE OF THEIR DISORGANIZATION AND PLAN TO MILK THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF MONEY) I called the office and let them know that I received two seperate emails with contrasting information and needed to be clear on where they stood in order to move forward with them. The ultimately agreed to price match the competing company and told me that I needed to have an extra Xray done at another facility in order to move forward. They let me know that the facility would charge $60 and that I would be reimbursed once the procedure was complete. I got my Xray and procedure done and that's when things started to fall apart. After my procedure I called the office easily 5 times attempting to reach Evelyn who had been speaking to me prior to my procedure. AMAZINGLY Evelyn was not available, I left my contact information MULTIPLE times and asked for a call back but poor Mrs. Evelyn must have been too busy trying to upsell all of the other potential customers to worry about me anymore. The once fast responding clerk now had more important issues to deal with. Finallly yesterday when I called again she was the one to answer the phone. I explained that I had been trying to reach her since June to discuss my reimbursment of my Xray. She first said "sorry" she hadn't called me back (as if it wasn't important as if I hadn't been calling for 4 months!) I let it slide and got straight to my point that I was calling because (as I mentioned in endless prior messages) I had not yet received my reimbursement for my Xrays. She said "Oh I can email you your EOB" and I said "I don't know what you're talking about I just want an explination of why I haven't received my reimbursement and when I will". She then proceeded to tell me that EOB means Explaination of Benefits and that that would give me the information I was asking for. Again I told her I didn't need anything to be sent to me that I was asking her a direct question. FINALLY (after what seemed like PULLING TEETH) She began to explain the policy attached to the Xray reimbursement and how "normally" insurance will pay but that in my case they didn't for whatever reason. I told her that I clearly understood what she was explaining to me NOW but that the information was usless to me AFTER the fact and that I should have been told that information PRIOR to surgery. Then she went on to explain the discount that I got on the over all procedure as if SHE did me a FAVOR. I told her that the discount I got and the insurance information she was providing were all besides the point. The point was: She told me I would get reimbursed and not to worry about it. She was EXTREMELY polite and responsive PRIOR to my procedure but once they got paid she didn't care anymore. She didn't return my calls for 4 months and now that I got lucky to get ahold of her she wanted to take the time to explain...UM NO She should have professionally and honestly handled the situation from the very beginning. The Xray was only $50-60 it's not the price that is disheartening its their morals that are in question their ethical procedure or lack thereof that is disheartening. I then asked to speak to her manager and Mrs. Evelyn told me that she didn't have a manager she was the "boss". HMMM I must've missed the "Evelyn Chuc and Associates" sign on the front of the building. So, I asked "Ok let me make this quite simple, Who signs your pay checks?" She finally said the doctor and after another solid minute of drilling her for an answer she finally gave me the doctor name. I later got a call from Alma another office manager who really didn't help with the situation either although she was friendly she just gave me the same explaination of benefits blah blah blah. Again, Its not rocket science I understand what the policy is now but it was not explained prior to the procedure and I was lied to by Evelyn. I will be writing to the Better Business Bureau and Business Consumer Alliance regarding this matter. read more

I was skeptical about getting a check up after reading all of the awful reviews. To my surprise, I had an amazing time during my visit, and I had not been to the dentist in over 1 1/2 years because of a lack of insurance. The assistants were nice and the dentist was very informative and polite. I take good care of my teeth by flossing and brushing regularly and the dentist recognized that. I would definitely recommend him don't be fooled by the reviews. If people have a bad experience they are quick to voice it, but if they have a pleasant experience they don't always take the time to voice it, so I wanted to go out of my way to let you guys know it's a good place! read more

I just left the facility, waiting about 45 min before I saw the dr., then got some quick shots, yanked out my wisdom tooth 7 minutes later and I was outta there within 15-20 min of getting anesthesia. If you're looking for a high end dental office with a personalized experience, this is NOT the place to go. Job got done quick, time will tell if it was done right, but by no means is it a "delicate" office with the feeling that there is individualized focus on YOU.
