He cheerfully changed the battery for a reasonable charge and he also told me my old battery was leaking. He took care of the problem and thanked me for my business. Came in with and older watch that needed a battery. He opened it up and showed me the corrosion from the dead battery. I thought terrible and could be a loss. Eric was kind enough to give it a cleaning and make some adjustments. In the end I have my watch back and couldn't be happier. His prices are still the best in town. He also has lots of art pieces and other oddity clocks which is very cool to see. He showed me a 100 year old clock that was carved to look like a terrier with the eyes moving for hours and minutes. I found this family owned business online and decided to give them a shot because they had great reviews and they are located down the street from where I live. I own 2 movado's that are about 4 and 5 years old. Both watches had stopped working. So I stopped by and asked how much and how long it would take. Their pricing was surprisingly reasonable and they said they could do it right away, that it would just take 20-30 minutes. I went and grabbed lunch and came back an hour later and my watches were already done. The time and date was properly adjusted and I believe they gave them a quick wipe/polish because they were both a lot shinier compared to when I dropped them off! I needed a battery replaced in a watch, and I came in at what turned out to be 15 minutes before closing time on a Saturday. Eric cheerfully and competently replaced the battery for me, and also set the watch to the correct time. This might not sound highly dramatic, but it's so nice to have something done absolutely correctly. I only wish I had more time to look around his shop. I completely understand why these gentleman have 5 stars on yelp. I requested a quote through yelp for battery replacement on two of my watches and strap replacement on one. I was in Ralph's grocery shopping, I received a response before reaching the register, I got a quote in 6 minutes. I got there 15 minutes later and was welcomed by an older gentleman (I am sorry for not getting your name sir). He asked how he can help, I explained what I needed, he took a look at the watches and asked if I could wait 15 minutes to which I replied of course. Soon after I met a younger gentleman, he greeted me and said "hey I think I was talking to you through yelp...." I visited this vendor because of the 5-star reviews, but my experience was far from it. I contacted the owner to get an estimate on my clock repair and was told if the motor on my clock was working all would be needed is new hands for the clock. I sent a picture and indicated it was a large scale clock so they were aware of my needs. I drove over Friday afternoon in horrible traffic only to learn from the owner's father that they would have to order the parts and I would have to get a new motor because they wouldn't sell the motor and hands separately (even though I have a chat message telling me otherwise). I started with this less expensive clock to test their expertise and with the intention of bringing my antique mantel clock and some other regulator clocks I have for repair. However, after this experience, I am going elsewhere. Update: Even though I was not satisfied with my experience, I do appreciate the response time and concern shown to me after the fact from the shop owner. I still cannot give it five stars, but it is also undeserving of one. read more

Very nice. Very helpful. Went in for a minor item - to snap the back onto a wrist watch. (They make them really tight these days and a special press is usually needed.) Don't replace a watch battery yourself. Eric's does it quick, clean and inexpensive. I got some good tips for maintaining the watch and advise on what batteries to use in the future - that won't leak. And BTW the shop is awesome. It's a joy just to walk through and see the variety of mostly antique clocks from grandfathers to one-of-a-kind. read more

My watch had been broken after a spill in the river for weeks. I wait and waited to get it repaired (never had the time of day XD pun intended). I looked around for good watch repair places, and found this one. FANTASTIC place!! When I came in, Eric greeted me warmly and professionally, and quickly figured out my problem. He is clearly quite knowledgable about watches. My problem's repair was going to cost a significant amount of money, so after I had left the shop, Eric called me and suggested I replace my watch -- not fix it. His reasoning: he could do it but it would be expensive. instead he sent me on my way with my watch and some advice on mechanical upkeep. Free of charge! He is a lovely shopkeep, and kind and resourceful. Clearly looking out for his customers. I unequivocally reccomend him. With all the modern technology today, I rarely wear a watch. I was going through an old jewelry box and found a Movado Museum watch (given to me as a gift years ago) and gold/silver, Seiko Mickey Mouse watch (my favorite). I looked on Yelp for a watch repair business and found Eric's. Located in a small strip mall, so you might drive right by it if you are not looking. When I walked into the small storefront, I was amazed. It was filled with beautiful old clocks. Eric walked out from behind the counter and greeted me. He took a look at both my watches and said that they would be ready the next day. I asked him if he would tell me the history of some of his beautiful clocks. The first picture I posted of a gold and black clock with, what appears to be, a woman seated on top. This clock was made in The United States in 1888. The company that made the clock is Asonia. The second photo is a very similar looking clock. However, there is a magnificent eagle perched on top. This clock was built in France in 1850. (photo 3). The last photo is of a Howard Miller Ship's Bell clock. My father used to have the same clock on his boat. When it chimes, it uses military time for the number of chimes. It used to confuse the heck out of me in the middle of the night when the ship's bell would chime 23 times (11 PM). I got a photo of Eric surrounded by an amazing collection of clock's. He specializes in restoring and repairing Grandfather clocks. My watches are working beautifully. I would highly recommend taking any watches you need to Eric. Thank you, Eric, for fixing my cuckoo clock that I ordered from Germany in 2002. It's a sentimental clock. I care about every thing that I own and this clock is no exceptional. I called different stores locally and some places quoted me way much more than what Eric has charged me and they don't promise if it will be fixed. Because of the pandemic, this clock has taken a little longer than we expected to be fixed. I took it in in the beginning of this year and it was just done being repaired this month due to the fact that the parts were in shortage, but it's worth the wait. When I picked up my clock, Eric showed me that the clock is working, I almost had tears in my eyes because I really missed that sound and music from this clock.
