I took 5 watches to Fast Fix (a Burberry, a Gucci, and 3 non high-end brands). The store merely looked at the face of my watches and quoted me $45 for the Gucci, $40 for the Burberry and $20 for the others. So I brought the same watches to Eric & he charged me $10-15 for each and a little extra for some that had battery leakage and required cleaning. He was fast, thorough and honest! I took an old wall clock from our Geology Library at Caltech to be repaired. The clock had not run in years. When I walked inside I was amazed by all the ticking sounds I could hear from all the clocks in Eric's shop. Dropping off the clock Eric took a look at it and noticed that it need a new electric motor. I respect honest people and why they believe something needs to be done right. He told me that I could order a new motor for the clock but he could not guaranty that the motor would last because it was made in China. He told be that if I was patient, and had time, he would order one made in the United States. He said the U.S. makes the best but right now they are back ordered. I told him that it would be great if we could get the clock back before the Fall term started on September 28th. He assured me that he would try. Now I dropped off the clock on March 14, 2015 and he called me on September 10, 2015 and said it was ready. During this 6 month period he kept in contact with with me by phone to assure me that he still expected the U.S. made motor would arrive during the time frame I asked. On the day I picked up and paid for the clock he had it on the wall and it was plugged in a working. After paying him I took the clock back to our Geology Library and hung it up on the wall. It was great to see it working again after all these years. Our department and myself would love to thank Eric for a great job. read more

It malfunctioned and since it doesn't have mechanisms like a real cuckoo, I didn't know where to go so I took it to Eric, who...intrigued as he was, told me that he couldn't make any promises. Lo and behold, I received a call from Eric a few days later saying that he'd tightened the hands and that it worked fine. No charge. He was able to replace it within 15 minutes for $10.00 I got home and realized the set/mode buttons had gotten stuck and drop it off with Eric the next day.
