Just left Eric's precision auto works. Took car in at 9am July 2, was told they would replace a dead battery I purchased 2 years ago at Eric's . Today I was told that they would not honor the warranty that came with the battery, instead they said I had to pay $302 for a computer update to my car. I had used Eric's on several occasions in the past. NO MORE. Any man who can't stand by his warranty is not worthy of my business. Word travels fast in Fallbrook Eric . Enough said. We have been to Eric's several times and were impressed how clean the shop is, HOWEVER we have not been happy with the work. We had brakes put on our car and they now squeak something awful when backing up. We also had our SUV in there for an oil change. We requested they check all the fluid levels, even though this is supposedly normal operations at Eric's to check the fluid. We checked the transmission fluid a few weeks later because the transmission was sounding funning and found the fluid was so low it didn't even register ! Obviously Eric's did not check any fluid levels, they simply changed the oil. Since we added fluid and monitor the transmission fluid it seems to be fine now. Also, the prices seems to be a little steep! read more

This place is bad! Took our SUV in for a routine oil change. I asked if they could check the fluid levels, Eric said their multiple inspections included fluid level checks. Shortly after this routine oil change we discovered the automatic transmission fluid was well below the minimum level. We won't use Eric's Precision Auto ever again. read more

Wow!! This place still blows me away. I had a rattle noise on my car. The OWNER Eric said I could leave my car and put my keys in the drop box early in the morning. I waited till noon and still did not find out what was going on so I called. He said he has not had a chance to look at my car. After explaining what my wife and I went through to get my car to him early, he finally called back around 2:00 pm to tell me I need new motor!!!! I have been around cars all my life and have rebuilt few motors. Knowing this guy was crazy, and would not say much more than you need a $6000 motor for my $4000 car, I asked for my keys and he had the nerve to tell me I need to wait 40 min to do the paperwork and get my keys, then demanded $90 for his time?? Really?? I had no choice but to pay him!! I then went down the street to the mechanic that is always crazy busy and he told me exactly what was wrong with my engine. He said I do not need a new motor and laughed and had an idea where I came from. He also mentioned it was not that difficult to fix, just time consuming(4hrs) and I could attack this job myself. That day I bought all the parts, and fixed it myself! Do not bring any car to this guy!!!! I'm telling you!! I paid $90 to have the worst evaluation ever given! What a joke!!!!!! read more

An honest garage. We had a Volvo blow a differential far from home, and they were great to deal with under difficult circumstances. They could have milked us for an expensive repair, but told us that we would be better off junking the car, which is what we decided to do. Friendly, professional, and even charitable. Eric and his trained professionals were able to get me through a terrible situation. I put the wrong gas in my vehicle and then realized the serious situation I was in. Luckily, I did not start the vehicle! I called Eric's auto repair and he gave me good advice on how to get the truck towed without engaging the gas line. My distributor was replaced at Eric's precision 17, 300 miles ago on 11/2014 for $508.00 The warranty is 2 years 24000 miles at Eric's precision auto for parts and labor for the work they did. My truck stopped running on the I-15 a month ago and I had it towed to Eric's on Tuesday and they said they would look at my truck the next morning. Come Friday they called me and informed me that they figured out the problem--a bad distributor and it would cost 600-630 to replace. My auto user manual says to replace the distributor at 80,000 miles. They told me distributors for my truck have gone up in price that would explain the higher repair bill although you can buy them for 89.00--360.00 on ebay. I had my truck towed out of Eric's precision auto and back to my house. I bought a distributor at O'Reily's for 249.00 and installed it myself. My question is why is the work and or parts so expensive if the parts do not last as defined in my auto user manual. I take care of the truck and do not abuse it. They did a great job in figuring out the problem and did not charge me for that work. read more

Their prices are reasonable, you get a AAA discount and they have excellent communication. They have been nothing less than incredible in getting some of the problems I was having cleared up. They each time have been under a time deadline, and they work their ass off to have the truck done in time. The mechanics are courteous and helpful, and Chief as the service advisor is AMAZING! Eric wants every experience there to be a great one and he stands behind his work.They give accurate detailed quotes up front, and they will go that extra mile for you. I came over to Eric's from a dealer who was not honest with me and I was a suspicious consumer at that point, but these guys have earned my trust and loyalty. This place was awful! Dropped off my car at their shop and told him originally the problem was my car was starting but not turning over. Then, when the tow truck driver tried to load it on, it wasn't even starting. So I informed the owner (who was handling my file) and let him know the other things that had been checked on it previously. It seemed like he wasn't even listening to me, but I figured they were mechanics and would figure it out. After it being there, they informed me that they had ran their diagnostic and couldn't find anything- and that the car had fired up right away. Delighted, I picked up my car thinking it was a one-time deal. Driving it home, it stalled and broke down. I called back and he said no problem, and to bring it back. He informed me that he would have his mechanic drive it around until it died and find the problem. I live close by- the car did not move the spot in the two days that he had it. When he said it was fixed and I went to pick it up, he informed me of the minor problem and that his mechanic had driven it quite a while (lie) and if I had any more problems to bring it back no problem. A week later- it happened again! I spoke with a manager when I called back this time who was very curtious, but informed me that I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. I asked why since they had already ran it once before, and he said that that was their policy. I asked to speak with the owner, who had handled my case before since there was not even a record of me bringing my car back the second time. The minute I asked him about why it wasn't in their system the second time I brought it in and he immediately got very defensive and aggresive. He began cursing me and was completely out of line and then hung up. AND THIS WAS THE OWNER! I couldn't believe it. Extremely shady and unprofessional. I will never go back to this place even if someone paid me. read more

My van was running fine when I took it in to get a transmission flush. After he had put in 8 quarts, he said the fluid was still dirty so he wanted to put in 8 more quarts. I was reluctant to have him do this, but I yielded to the "expert." Originally it was quoted at $100. with the second flush it worked out to $150.00. One day later my transmission was acting up, and stopped running. When I had it towed back in to have it looked at - he reported that the transmission was fried. Said he wouldn't recommend anyone in Fallbrook but suggested I call someone in Oceanside to fix my transmission. I finally found an expert to replace the transmission (not in Oceanside). When he looked at the transmission he said that the tranny should never been flushed twice the seals can't take that much pressure. Eric's might be ok for oil changes, and smog checks but stay away from any major work, he's over his head, never offered to refund the cost of the transmission flush. Will never use him again. read more
