I wish I had researched this company before agreeing to my new roof. I just wanted a quote, but they talked me into a new roof on the spot, which I'm ashamed of doing. I should know better. I got a scribbled piece of paper with a lot of numbers that didn't resemble a contract. The salesman, Mike, was really nice, he put me at ease agreeing to a new roof. It was hellishly expensive but Mike convinced me the new roof had a lifetime warranty. I found out afterwards that it's a 30 year limited warranty. Big difference. He told me his crew would remove the attic fan and the mushroom shaped chimney thing and put plywood and shingles over the hole. They didn't. I can't climb up a ladder three stories to check out their work so I have no idea what it looks like up there. I called Mike to ask why I didn't get the contract or warranty or anything in writing, he said it's in the email they sent me. Too cheap to spend money on paper, I guess. I asked him about the attic fan, he said it should have been done if it's in the contract, he would check and see if it was. Never called me back. I'm sorry I fell for this. Do NOT use this company! They are crooks and liars!! I was given a verbal price for soffit, fascia and gutters then pressured into signing immediately. As the salesperson wrote the contract on his iPad for me to sign, I didn't read it carefully, so he only wrote for gutters and fascia. Who doesn't do the soffits at the same time? Crooks! My fault for not reading carefully but I think they do that on purpose. I asked for a certificate of insurance which is standard practice and they continued to tell me they didn't do that. False! On top of it, they said they did the fascia! They did not...the same nails that were painted over before they did the work were still there when done. read more

Holy moly where to begin. 1) We never contacted them for a roof quote before they called on a recorded line to schedule a 6pm meeting with their sales rep. They must get their leads from other websites. 2) the sales rep continually trash talked every other roofing company in the country. Like he his company would be our savior. "If you don't choose us then I hope you're happy with your roof failing in 10 years" 3) waaaay overpriced. for a 2,000sq ft roof they quoted 32k. They were our third quote and the others were under $10k. The rep talked about their 30 year warranty and the fact that they have "exclusive" contracts with this one shingle company. No they don't. It's the exact same shingle the other quotes we got use. So they would be using the exact same materials, with the exact same crew and charge x4 more. No wonder they are a billion dollar company, as our sales rep made sure to mention. 4) No emailed quote. Just scribbled on paper with nothing itemized. He kept writing things down and then sending pictures to his supervisor to "prove" he talked about it. Very sleazy. See the attached picture. 5) They don't do skylights and he said we could buy it on our own to replace ours. We also asked about solar tubes, which he didn't know anything about and he ignored the request. 6) He knew we weren't having it so he said "alright, you guys saw through my BS so let's finish this so I can go home". He also apologized after he sarcastically said "Oh I guess you know this better than I do, good luck with your sh!tty roof". So unprofessional I wish I had read the reviews on Yelp and on Reddit before agreeing to the meeting. Would have saved us all enough time. Went to the website, gave out all my info. They offered a free quote and all I had to do is answer the phone to make sure that I was a real person. I just wanted the estimate. With all the technology today, the sales rep was able to pull up my home and get the exact coordinates so they could see the home. With this type of technology there was no reason for the company to come out to my home and do another measurement. If you're going to advertise a free estimate then you need to be able to do it with the existing technology without another representative coming out to snoop around the property. There is nothing that a homeowner hates more than having someone they don't even know come out to their home when nowadays it isn't even necessary. Do not waste your time with this company. I contacted Erie Home for a roofing estimate and experienced aggressive, manipulative sales tactics. The sales representatives held me hostage in my living room for over an hour, refusing to leave despite my repeated requests that I was running out of time and needed to wrap up. In the end, THEY REFUSE TO PROVIDE WRITTEN BIDS and PRESSURE YOU TO MAKE AN INSTANT DECISION WITHOUT VERIFYING THEIR CLAIMS. After enduring their marathon sales pitch, I discovered their actual process: they quote you a price verbally (more than TWICE what other contractors quoted), tell you to "take a photo" of handwritten numbers if you want a record, then pressure you to sign immediately with "special promotions only available today." When I repeatedly asked politely for a written bid or estimate I could review so I could properly digest the information, conduct research, and make an informed decision before agreeing to make such an expensive purchase, they dodged my request and continued their loud, rapid-fire sales patter, padded with long arguments that weren't actually relevant to the quote I was requesting. They made extensive claims about their "superior" materials that are impossible to verify without documentation. The sales guy actually balked and protested when I said I needed to research the bid and follow up, arguing he could give me any information I needed on the spot. If a sales person insists that you take their word for it rather than doing due diligence, that is a very bad sign, and frankly, insulting. This is classic high-pressure manipulation designed to prevent comparison shopping and override rational decision-making by fatiguing and overwhelming the buyer. Any company that refuses to provide a written bid for a major home investment does not deserve your business. Other reviewers describe sales pitches lasting 3-4+ hours. I was lucky I got them to leave in under 2, but it ended on an awkward note as they really resisted my requests to wrap up and provide information I could review carefully. As stated in other comments just a scribbled estimate and as such their paperwork is unacceptable. I only have a yellow copy of scratched information sheet that I have to prove I have a new roof. It doesn't even have my address on it. They did not replace bad boards that they said they would, probably only about 6 or so, 3 or 4 per side, not exceptional especially on a roof built in 1948. The only board they replaced they were forced to do after their manager told them to replace I saw they didn't so he told them to remove what they put down and replace to one board. I think they charged thousands to much, I should have researched it more before using Erie. I would not use this company do your just diligence. read more

I filled out their form, which said I would get an average, for roofs, that people have paid in my area. That wasn't true, you have to leave your phone number. I then read these reviews and decided I didn't have time for all their bs. I used to be a general contractor in the DC area. What contractors are trying to get for roofs in Myrtle Beach is absolutely absurd. They don't tell you how much they charge per square, which is how contractors estimate how much a roof should cost. They want to give you a big song and dance routine and rip you off. Erie Home I called me about 50 times over the next two weeks. They never left a message. They never sent a text Or email with the information I was promised. They call from different numbers so you cannot block them. If I wasn't 70 I would do the roof myself. Contacted Erie Home over a New Asphalt Roof. The inspection was an hour and a half, which was thorough, but then they wouldn't give a quote or estimate without my spouse present. So we had them back the next day when we could both be there. TWO HOURS into the sales pitch we finally got a quote, which was 80-100% higher than other quotes we received. Salesman was super pushy, invasive and wouldn't take no for an answer. He also wouldn't let us keep the written quote claiming their "boss wouldn't let him hand them out". So I have nothing to show for my time. Definitely won't be using them, and considering the countless horror stories of similar reviews here. I recommend staying away from them. read more

I saw the adds online several times and was interested in the product. I purchased my home 2.5 years ago knowing I would need to replace the roof in 5 years or so. With all the storms going through Virginia from Helene we had damage to the roof. No leaks but a fallen tree clipped the edge. Most likely no insurance coverage all out of pocket coverage. So I fill out the online questionnaire (Saturday morning) and within a minute of hitting send, I receive a phone call to setup an appointment for the following Monday evening at 6pm. Sunday morning I receive a call from a rep using a phone from a medical clinic to verify the appointment for the next day. Now I have a big roof using the roofiing calculator on their site over 5000sf. I figured that's why the quick appointment. It took over a week and a half to get another company to come out for an estimate and that's after we told them we were interested in a new roof since it was close to 30 years old. Monday 6pm no shows. No calls nothing. Now we live in an area where cell coverage is sketchy at best and you need wifi at home to make calls so we figured maybe they got lost. That was four days ago. No follow up calls no apologies nothing. Thats a great business model. A company that doesn't need customers. read more

Repeatedly told salesman that my husband gets up at 4am to go to work, and that he needed to get to the route. Sales reps were soliciting the neighborhood, wife answered the door while I was at work. She told them repeatedly that we weren't interested in any work and asked them at least four times to leave. Guy dropped off a flyer that reads at the bottom "your consent is not required for purchases" and it had a note in the top corner saying that they'd be back the following evening "for an appointment" at 6pm. They showed up around 3:30pm the following day, scared the hell out of my wife, tried the door handle when she refused to answer the door for them, and came back again around 6pm with multiple vehicles blocking the end of our driveway. Terrible company with no respect for people. I'd give 0 stars if possible. Apologies for the long review, but this was an expensive ordeal and I hope nobody makes our mistake. If you don't want to read the whole review: It was $40,000+ for a 1300 sq foot 1 story roof, and they won't fix an issue with the roof they put on. It all started when I saw the ad for "free metal roof" and decided to have someone come check ours out. The salesman was pushy but friendly. Told us we had a bunch of mold and showed us pictures. We had had an issue previously but thought we'd remedied it. Our son has asthma, so we panicked a little and he ran with that. He offered us every discount in the book. I think the first quote was $60,000+. Our house is 1380 sq ft. and 1 story. We got money knocked off for getting fiberglass and ceramic shingles instead of metal, letting them fit us in when a team could do it (meaning they called with like 24 hour notice), and agreeing to give good reviews and being friends with someone in the company. There may have been others. The final quote was $40,000+. They had us apply for financing and got approved immediately and signed all the paperwork. Honestly we got swept up and never stopped to consider they were scamming us. Also, they did have to deal with a unique feature of our roof, which is a fairly flat roof over one corner. Leading up to the roof day they delivered pallets of materials. The day of a nice guy brought an outside contracted team and got to work. They were super fast, clean, and did a good job. They did step through our ceiling in two spots. "They" (Erie or the team?) had another guy out who patched the ceiling for us. "They" also ended up needing a lot more materials because of how bad the roof ended up being and the flat section was a harder fix. But the price didn't change. They said someone would come get the materials that were leftover. They came and got the wood, but nobody ever got the shingles. They left like 3, pallets of shingles on my lawn. It was like 3 months before we moved them to the driveway to stop killing the grass. They told us someone would come out after a year to inspect; it was 3 years before we had anyone out. And that was after I tried contacting someone about an issue we were having. We had gotten a warranty (lifetime, I think). There's no contact info on any of my paperwork. Online I found an email address. Emailed at least a couple times. Eventually I think I started calling their request line and leaving voicemails. I finally got a call back after threatening to pursue "next steps". We had had a gutter guy out because rain was pouring down our siding and in one of our windows. The gutter guy said it wasn't the gutters. He said it was the drip edge or something with the roof and that we should have the roof guys come out. After they finally called back they sent a guy while we weren't home, and he said it wasn't the roof, it was the gutters. He also said they had a gutter guy and would send him out to quote us. We said absolutely not.​ I don't want Erie anything anywhere near my house again. After paying on the loan for 4 years we barely made a dent. I did the math and it would have taken the rest of our lives to pay it off just paying the minimum payment which was $480/month. The roof looks good but I can't believe we spent $40,000. read more

I filled out a request for a quote on the website and received a call to send someone to do the estimate. We scheduled a time and they were very communicative on the process. The salesman did a thorough investigation to do the estimate and talked us through the process. I do wish a little more time had been spent going over color options. We were given an expectation of the project manager to call within 5-14 days, but likely 5 days. It was getting closer to the 14 day timeframe and all the supplies were delivered before hearing from the project manager. When our install was happening the foreman (or person in charge on the job site) had an emergency come up and had to leave before the job was finished stating the job was almost finished and had me sign the paperwork. It was another 3 hours or so before it actually was completed. The job was done quickly though. A complete tear off and new roof from about 7am - 4:15pm. Care was taken with tarps and dumpster to protect and everything was cleaned up. The only other issue we ran into was we were promised due to our situation that our first payment wouldn't be for about 90 days or so (3-4 months) but we have been informed that the first payment is due 30 days after the paperwork is signed. Ultimately yes, we would recommend Erie as the product seems quality. I would recommend being very flexible on the communicated timeframes though. read more

There were problems with the ridge venting on our 12 year old roof, compounded by new siding that closed off our eaves venting and attic insulation and soffit venting. The first team showed us that and gave us a good discount. The project manager answered texts quickly. Everything happened according to schedule. The new roof was installed quickly and efficiently. We did find a very small amount of debris while doing some garden work but nothing worrisome. Assuming the dumpster is removed tomorrow, I am happy with the entire process and especially the warranties. read more

The lead salesman took a "call" from his boss and offered us 25k! The whole thing made us feel uneasy. Asked for a simple quote, ended up being recommended monthly payments of $350 for 12 years! No thank you. Look around locally or ask neighbors for recommendations instead. read more

They completed the job in 1 day with a layover which was nice. Only a few items that need to be fixed. Cons: 1) They did not cover my pool like they stated they would, had to fish out nails, ect. 2) They did not use a magnet to sweep like they stated they would. 3) Did not use "in house" installers like advertised, they used a 3rd party contractors.
