Let me start by saying that its very possible that I have a brand new roof that will last the rest of my lifetime. Unfortunately, the experience that I have had with Erie Home has not provided me with the security that I should feel in spending $45,000 for a new roof, quite the contrary. It is that experience that is the basis of my review. I first met with George McCray and Eddie Johnson for an appointment that I requested because I knew that I needed a new roof. My roof, twelve years after being replaced by Relief Roofing and their subcontractors after a tornado, has failed multiple times with subsequent attempts to patch making my roof look like amateurs had put it on. With all of the attributes that George and Eddie spewed, I had two requests for them before proceeding. First, I asked if they provided some type of protection around the house to collect all pulled nails and debris as it was pulled from my roof and second, that they not use subcontractors for the job. With request one, they stated that this would not be a problem. Their teams are equiped with an apron or skirting to catch materials as it comes off the roof. As for not using contractors, they said that no one in the industry does this without subcontractors, but what they could assure to me is that all of the roofers that came to my house would be certified by Erie, they would have experience with their product and would all be wearing Erie attire at my home. Unfortunately neither was true. I asked the job foreman just after they started where this apron was and he said that his crew does not do that. I immediately sent a message to George and Eddie asking about this and have never gotten any response. I can say now, after the job has been completed and I have taken the time to go around my home. I have picked up over 200 nails that were left around my property. I found shingles in my bushes and also had to walk my neighborhood to pick up debris and wrapping that had blown around while my roof was being completed. As for the crew, it was apparent that the crew leader knew what he was doing, but not sure about the rest. As my roof was being done, I was working on another project outside and heard people being yelled at for mistakes throughout the entire time they were there. I asked one about being Erie certified and he had no clue what I was talking about. While I believe in that one crew leader, I'm skeptical that he could catch all of the things that may have been done incorrectly. George and Eddie also told me that I would have an installation manager that would oversee the job and be onsite just to aide in my peace of mind. That person never showed up. I filed a complaint with the BBB and so then the issue was escalated to sales manager Morgan Seymour. My conclusion from corresponding with him is that dishonesty is part of his culture for the organization. He offered to have someone come and clean up the debris, but I had already done that. They did give me two coffee cups for my purchase, which I used to hold all of the nails that I picked up. My ask was to decrease the portion of my price that would be used for commission to the sales reps because I did not want my money going for that purpose since their lies secured their sale, but of course that didn't go anywhere. I do have a warranty, but with all of the lies that I have received to now, I can't believe that warranty is worth anything more than the cost of the paper its printed on should my roof start to fail

None of this tarp paper is what we paid for

Salesman did what they were told but what they sell you and show you should be what happens Roofers were subcontracted and were not prepared to do our roof slope properly job took extra time due to the unprofessionalism they were just roofers not the same as the face of what we were sold not all the materials used were what was discussed during the agreement just one example in the photos the original salesman gave nothing but excuses on why they could not come by to reassure or see the concerns even though they lived within five minutes of me

Example of "brown" cornerstone colored roof.

Company reached out said they wanted to come take a look that weekend and never got back to me. I did recieve the discount I was promised for the garage not included plus a tiny bit more about a month later. Still wouldn't recommend but at least customer service is trying to do their jobs.

The salesman that came to my house was very rude, pushy and arrogant. I would never do business with someone like him.

But I had trouble with them from the moment they started work and just could not get them to make right the problems they caused. I was highly disappointed in how they took care of my property- underselling the disruption it would cause. They also did not explain any of the equipment well enough ahead of time and gave mixed information about warranties. There was no care for making what they did look good. and I had to ask them numerous time to come back and do what they told me they would do. I will have to replace flooring in the entire basement, they did not consult with me on locations for the humidex or the sump pump making plans to add a bathroom more difficult. They were pretty reasonable in price too, and were also the only roofers to actually have a live person respond to my call right away - how a roofing company can afford to not call back customers in this economy is beyond me. Also, they guarantee their work for a year, so if you have a problem give them a call and they will fix it. I noticed a leak in the same spot as before, and they just called me, literally five minutes ago to tell me that they were in my neighborhood and will go on my roof and repair it, while I am at work. That's right, I don't have to leave work, and they didn't ask any questions, other than where the leak was.

I called and a man named Bill came out to my home and provided an extensive litany of all the reasons why I should use Seagate. I agreed to a $3500.00 LEAK FREE Roofing repair which I was told was good for at least 2 years but that they could only guarantee me (1) year. I agreed. My roof leaked almost immediately....twice......Now I get a call that they want me to go forward with a new $15,000.00 coating system which (THIS TIME WILL FIX MY PROBLEM WITH THE LEAKS). I informed "Bill" that I paid for a (1) year LEAK FREE ROOF REPAIR and that the roof has leaked twice. He said...well, we got MOST of the leaks. I informed him that I paid for all leaks to be repaired, and that the leaks were in the same place as before....therefore, the problem has not been resolved. I was told that I needed to spend $15,000.00 for the new roofing system they offer because the roof could not be repaired and that my (1) year LEAK FREE ROOF, wasn't really guaranteed for (1) year...but that this was only a suggestion. I just put up a new $27,000.00 ceiling and new Lights and now SEAGATE says their repair is not really a repair and will LEAK again and then I was hung up on because I had the nerve to question this man's experience and subsequent explanation as to why my $3500.00 repair wasn't really a repair. ....or rather why my roof was still leaking. I am ashamed to admit it...but I have been hook winked again!!!! Thanks SEAGATE ROOFING!!!! I will be sure to share my experience with my Insurance Company, My Contractor's who recommended you, and of course, every person who walks into my store once we can re open......whatever happened to Honest Representation? SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! I requested that Bill have the owner call me....of course that was just before he hung up and then refused to take calls back...nor attempt to call me back. PS....I failed to point out that this man also made comments regarding my ability to pay, stating that I just did not have the money for a new roof and therefore he could care less what I thought......Well, we do in fact have the money for the roof.....but you can be sure IT WILL NOT BE SEAGATE who will do it!!!!

But today, I came up short. You see, the clog (a Hot-wheel suspended in long female human hair, and, about 30 baby wipes) was located 45 feet from my toilet. My 25 foot drill-powered drain snake couldn't reach the clog, and, "fecal material" was backing up into my shower. I didn't think the backup was that big of a deal, but my wife was dismayed about it, soooooo... So I called William Murray (or as Tallahassee from Zombieland would say "Goddamn it, Bill fuckin' Murray!!") THIS Bill Murray, however, is not an actor, he's the real thing. He's the owner/operator of Professional Plumbing and Drain, in Swanton, Ohio. Bill was very friendly and extremely professional. His fees were fair, and he left the job site cleaner than he found it. Speaking of fees: he was honest and upfront about the cost of the job; he didn't try to pull any shit (no pun intended) regarding mark ups or hidden charges. When I asked him what was his range of operations, he said "pretty much all of northwest Ohio, and then some." Bill, thanks for fitting me into your already-loaded schedule and coming out on the coldest day of the winter to get the job done.
