Living in the woods after experiencing a total loss fire was a bit nerve-racking, but we fell in love with this property in the redwoods. I knew we needed to do a bunch of large tree branch cutting for safety and also aesthetic purposes. Also we needed removal of fire risk dead branches on the ground all over the property and on steep forest hillsides. I had no idea how to tackle this new type of property maintenance, as we never had to do this type of tree work in Los Angeles, as well as we didn't have any local resources yet. I was really hoping that we could find someone here that we could trust with our beautiful old redwood trees - but still be affordable. After meeting Victor, we did an extensive property walkthrough to go over all of our goals, questions, and concerns. He spent so much time talking through it all with us, and I was so relieved to find that he was SO good with his attention to details, wealth of knowledge, and great communication skills. I felt in good hands with Victor overseeing the job itself, knowing he would be on site to make sure all the details we had discussed and confirmed would in fact be completed - as we had imagined & planned. I know often unfortunately the reality of a sales guy who can promise a lot, but doesn't actually deliver when it comes to the job getting complete. But Victor had both the knowledge of how to proceed with what we needed on this job and price it accordingly in the most fair way, AND great on site management skills to lead a large crew of guys and equipment to accomplish the job so seamlessly. His communication along the way was helpful too, as he always answered texts or called back quickly in the planning process before the job started. We are so very happy with how the job went! The entire crew was on point, professional and really good at what they do, many of the guys have been in this industry for over 15-20 years! The property looks absolutely amazing, like a fresh makeover on beautiful old trees - making them safer with less fire risk, and also trimming back and shaping them to their best health and appearance. We are so happy and grateful for finding Victor! He is very professional, kind, communicative, knowledgable, and reliable. He is very thorough and detail oriented and his prices are very fair as well. After going through so much stress this year with losing everything, it has been a relief that this large job has been such an easy and calm experience. Of all the companies that provided quotes, JC Tree Experts was the most detailed. Some simply scribbled a price on their business card, but JC Tree Experts emailed a detailed quote explaining exactly what work was included, debris hauled away, etc., photos of the trees to be worked on, arborist certification, and even their insurance certificate as evidence that the company and their employees were covered in the event of accident or injury on our property. This was by far more than any other company provided, and it was a clear indication of their level of professionalism. Theirs was not the lowest quote, but was much more reasonable than some. They arrived as scheduled to do the work - in fact, a little early. It was a large crew with two large trucks and a wood chipper. The crew confirmed the expectations with us and set to work. They were all cheerful and friendly, but worked quite efficiently, completing the work in less than an hour. They did a great job on the trees, cleaned up all the debris completely, and even used a blower to make sure they didn't miss anything. I wholeheartedly recommend JC Tree Experts. This is exactly why I waited to post--I find this level of monitoring and personal contact highly invasive and unprofessional. Hired this company to remove a tree. First of all, I know it's a very demanding business and risky at that. And things come up all the time, but what is unacceptable is accountability. I had an appointment and the day of the person was nowhere to be seen. I could not get a hold of Xavier. He finally responded after numerous calls. I have several friends in this business and they said that they at least apologize when they over schedule and things come up. Again, I understand this. But at least apologize for the lack of communication. An apology goes a long way!

Instead of cutting the branches smaller to drag it out then dragged out large branches scratching the side of the house and damaged my down spout gutter. The contracted said they are not liable for any pipe damage, but this is clearly damage to my gutter that could have been avoided. I probably won't be going with them again.
