Ernesto came by and took a look at our floors, which were in a pretty horrible state. He gave us his opinion of what needed to be done, and we decided to go with him. We had heard horror stories of excessive dust, messes being left in the house, and so forth being created by the refinishing process, but Ernesto assured us he and his crew used top of the line equipment that minimized the dust, and that the house would be put back in order once he was finished. We were doubtful, but needed to get the floors done, so we jumped into it.
Anyway, as it turned out we were out of town for the week the floors were done. We had to move all the small stuff out of our rooms, but they took care of the big stuff including the Fridge, dryer, couches, bed, etc. I couldn't imagine doing this, but they said it was normal, and that it was the only way to do the floors right.
When we came back the house was put back together the way it should have been, but now we had what looked like brand new floors! It looked absolutely amazing, so now we need to spruce up the walls to match our awesome-looking floors. It made the whole house feel new again. Amazing.
Anyway, back to the dust. Indeed there was almost no dust anywhere in the rooms that had been refinished, and absolutely no dust anywhere else in the house.
There were a couple of places that needed retouching, which Ernesto pointed out and then came back and took care of. He also had to sand down some of the bottoms of the doors so they would not scuff up the new floors. All this was done with minimum hassle or intrusion. He and his crew were very professional, and you could see why he has been in this business for so long.
In addition to all this, Ernesto is a just a great guy. He listens to the questions we had and answered them thoroughly. It was a pleasure to talk to him in person, and he communicated very well via email too. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
