They let us grab some samples, made sure we were completely happy, and at the end of the day have an amazing selection of quality flooring at reasonable prices. Best off unlike Bay Area Floors on 41st these folks post their prices. Where do I start? Let me begin by saying I am the typical big-box shopper. I like the convenience, selection and cost that comes with it. I even have a Lowe's card. So naturally, that's where I go. Also, I'm a capable DIY'er and know what I want. I do my research online, shop local and install it myself. That was my plan for hardwood floors. I've installed them before so expected a simple repeat. I visited Home Depot and Lowe's but being that we just purchased our home, I really wanted something special. A friend recommended The Wholesale House. Within a few minutes of my visit, I knew this was the right place. They have a great selection, reasonable prices and a very knowledgeable staff. In hindsight, it makes sense. They are not employees that were trained a few hours to cover the flooring department. This is what they do everyday and they know their business. I could've made a $5k blunder but they saved me with picking the right flooring, Johnson Hardwood English Pub. They provided guidance in getting all the installation necessities without overselling. That eliminated a lot of Google and YouTube searches! I installed the flooring last week and it looks beautiful! I'm so happy with the overall experience! I went in on a weekday afternoon and got plenty of personalized (and friendly) attention. The woman (wish I could remember her name) was helpful, understood my needs and made good suggestions. I should have written this review 2 years ago when a disappointing experience happened but I decided to go into denial. We had bought several times from The Wholesale House and had nothing but good experiences. Our last time was not good. We had bought a fairly middle of the road carpet with a pad that was suppose to be waterproof. We have several animals and when we have had our prior carpets steam cleaned ,sometimes the dirt from under the carpet and pad comes through. Anyway seemed liked a good upgrade. While the pad and carpet was being installed i did a test on an extra piece of the pad and we were sadly shocked to find out it was not even water resistant. I immediately callled the store during the installation and they assured me they would look into it and not to worry. Weeks went by and we were dealing directly with the owner. We basically got no satisfaction in terms of replacing the pad. Mind you it was a large job to move the furniture and pull the carpet back out at this point. The owner never offered us a refund on the pad which at the very least heshould have been done. Anyway we just used another local company in Soquel and everything went great. The pad is not just waterproof but much more pleasant to walk on. The owner was all talk in resolving our issue. In the end the blame went on an East coast Manufacturer and we simply did not want to deal with this issue anymore including the writing of a review at the time. read more

I first shopped the big box stores for new flooring. I wasn't getting enough help or advice so I visited the Wholesale House. There a got just what (I thought) I needed. Right away I said that I have a 70 pound dog and I would need flooring that could stand up to her. The first woman I spoke to told me to choose the samples that I liked and she'd let me know if they would be appropriate. I choose several and she told me a couple were not work for me. I made my final decision and she told me it would be better if I chose the rustic version of that sample, which I did. I chose a rustic engineered wood in maple. My installer did an over-the-top job! It was artistic. I could not have asked for more. The flooring on the other hand started to scratch immediately. I visited the store to ask about the scratching and was given (by the same women who advised me on which flooring to purchase) a small amount of cleaner which I tried on the scratches but of course it didn't help. I returned another time for help and the woman that was there that time told me that her adult daughter who has a heavier support dog plays catch in the house without any marks being left. This time I asked to speak to the owner and was told he was out-of-town but she'd leave him my number and message. I did not receive a call back. I called again and I emailed a couple of times without any response. Finally the owner connected with me and we made an appointment for him to see the floor. He came to the house saw all of the scratches and told me that my dogs nails needed to be trimmed. My dog had been to the vet the week before and I had asked about her nails, her vet said they did not need trimming. The owner left saying "I'll need to make some phone calls". That was weeks ago. I am now shopping for an attorney. read more

They gave us samples to take home, they helped us measure our project, and most important to us what it would cost, which saved us money compared to other quotes. I cannot heap enough praise on the amazing people at The Wholesale House. Verging on phobic when it comes to shopping, I was pretty skeptical of our flooring installer's insistence that a 45-minute drive to place myself in their hands would be worthwhile. Heidi, Gail, and Steve made me a convert with their expertise, listening skills, patience, attention to detail, and follow-through. They showed me dozens upon dozens of options for our whole house remodel (you would not believe what a vast selection they cram into their space), endured my endless waffling, never even remotely pressured or rushed me, allowed me to borrow many samples over numerous visits (1.5 hours round-trip and - at least to me - worth every minute and sacrificed fossil), made timely calls to sales reps on my behalf, and lent their unfailing support throughout the process of choosing and purchasing the world's most gorgeous hardwood floor! If every aspect of our project were as wonderful as my experience with The Wholesale House, we'd be thrilled and without all the gray hairs we've sprouted.
