The food was good but I would not recommend this restaurant due to the service we received. We were there on Thursday night and there were very few guest in the restaurant. Our waitress was quite slow and unable to multitask. We asked for tortillas and butter as an appetizer and the waitress never brought them. Also, I asked for chopped onions and pickled jalapenos on top of my enchiladas and the meal came out without those. I asked the waitress again to bring me some chopped onions and pickled jalapenos. The waitress brought out chopped onions and fresh cut jalapenos. Again I ask for pickled jalapenos. By the time the waitress brought out the pickled jalapenos I had finished my meal. Why management does not monitor their wait staff better and train them better troubles me. I left a small tip. I hope the waitress got the message. read more

This is the second time I have been to Ernesto's in Prosper. First time was for Dinner and this time for Lunch. For lunch our group of 5 had a variety of items - the Platter, Carne Asada, Pollo David, Shrimp Salad, and Chicken Fajita. It was a lot of food and every one had some boxed for dinner. We all loved the food and will go again. The service was great - PJ our waiter was very pleasant and had good suggestions. He took good care of us. Definitely a good place for TexMex. The service was great. We never had to wait for our waitress to come back. Food was ok, our tacos weren't hot. At least their rice and beans were good. Not the best but good. My fiancé and I got so sick later in the night so it could be due to our tacos not being hot enough. Who knows. I freaked out when I saw a spider on my plate but hey that's always a risk when you eat outside on the patio. Their red salsa were good. Always a great table available. Best Michelada in north Dallas! Ask for the extra spicy Verde salsa. This is our go-to if we don't want to drive in to Frisco. And even then, its hard to beat. Get the fajita beef nachos, the camarones, or the carne asada. read more

Disgusting . My husband and I went for date night and it was the biggest mistake the food was gross and overpriced. And the service was even worse the waitress had an attitude never asked my husband if he wanted a drink just brought him water. (Other employees where on there cell phones making plans for the night) We got a fajita set up brought to the table with out ordering fajitas or asking for it. We did however ask for queso sever at times before receiving it along with our meal. Are table was being cleared before we where done and ticket was brought my husband asked if they had desert and with a rude reply she started naming server also things we were so over it we declined any. My family gets take out from here probably once a week. We love it, but I have one complaint. I always order the exact same dish, but I never get the same dish. There is always something different on it. Sometimes the nachos come with ground beef, sometimes with fajita meat. Last time they sent no ranch for the stuffed jalapeños, the time before that there was ranch but no queso. Sometimes they send an entire cup of queso, sometimes it's just a small sampler size. Everything always tastes fine, but it sure would be nice to know what I was going to get when I order something. read more

We have eaten here twice. The first time was a positive experience so a few weeks we went again. There isn't a lot in Prosper to select from. The second time our family of three went was about 6 pm on a Wednesday. The place was not crowded. We sat down and ordered and waited and waited. We kept asking where our food was. "It is coming" they kept saying. We saw the tables around us turnover twice with customers before our food came more than an hour and 15 minutes later. We asked to speak to the manager who said he was new and didn't know what was going on. He didn't even comp any part of our meal. I suggest you try our new favorite Mesa's. The food is bland and downright terrible, just like the service. Chips are stale, salsa is some pathetic premade vinegary mess, and the "queso" is like thick orange chicken soup. The rice is quite clearly Lipton rice and everything else is completely devoid of taste. The only way you could ever think this is a good restaurant is if you have never eaten out anywhere... ever. If only there was an option for no stars. Truly, I was hoping to come on Yelp and be the first to write a review of what a toilet this place is, but I see I am not alone. I suppose that's just as well...and not at all surprising. We ordered from Ernesto's again tonight. This is the 3rd time IN A ROW that they have screwed up our order. You're thinking, "Why continue to go back?" Because we live in Celina and the only food out here that isn't fast food is Dickey's, which is pricey for take out, Palio's, which I can make at home myself, and Ernesto's, which is basically overpriced fast food. I've called the last 2 times they screwed up the order. Both times I spoke with the angry assistant manager. That dude should not be in the service industry. He seems to take it personally, like you're attacking him, when they left something off your order or told you it could and would be prepared without a specific ingredient. Then there's the peach that usually answers the phone to take your order - a woman. If you request something extra that isn't included with the meal as it is written on the menu, her tone says, "Oh, we'll put a little extra in there!" (think the movie 'Waiting'). I was afraid to take a bite tonight. Which brings me to tonight's meal. We spent just shy of $50 and they did not include the extra sauce that I said 3 times we wanted, the spinach that is supposed to be inbetween the chicken on the Pollo David was so little that they may as well have not put it on at all, the breading on the chicken was burnt to a crisp, the chicken itself was dried out and spongy at the same time - not sure how they accomplished that, but BRAVO! - and the sopapillas were 3 soggy pastries with not a grain of sugar on them and no honey! I thought about calling, but there truly is no point. This place does not deserve the title 'restaurant'. The assistant manager will hate you if you complain and make you sorry you bothered making them aware of THEIR mistakes in the first place, the employees are lazy, the manager, who is actually a nice guy, but he's never who we end up having to deal with, clearly isn't listening to any of these reviews since they all say the same thing and all the same people work there as have for a while now and the overpriced food barely clears the bar of mediocrity. I ordered takeout for my family, Alicia who took my order was so nice. While I waited for my takeout she brought complimentary chips and salsa and a drink. Well when I got home I noticed the order was wrong, and after calling them to let them know. I realized I screwed up the order and not them. She said to come back with it and they'll exchange it. Which I did, well when I got there, Alicia informed me that the manager said I could keep the two meals and handed me the new order. I frequent the Walmart that's right next to this place, and EVERY time I passed by around dinner time the place was full-it made me very curious. Despite the "bad" reviews here on yelp my mom and I went here at noon on a Sunday. The Resturant was about 60% full. Service was EXCELLENT. Chips and salsa the second you sit down, and a very attentive waiter. We ordered the queso blanco and the combo fajitas. The queso tastes very good but was just slightly too thick. I'd still order it again though cuz it was yummy! Then the fajitas came out in literally (!!!) 5 min. We were shocked! (Considering the place was busy) The fajitas were good as well. The manager also checked on us during our meal. We will be back. It's a small neighborhood type place. I hope service is consistent cuz we were SUPER impressed by that! read more
