41 Steak Sandwich. Very tasty steak - got mine well done
    Carone J.

Had lunch with my elderly father and his friend. The waitress seemed kind of cold, and it was not just my observation. My dad and his friend also observed this. I had asked for some ranch along with my sandwich, and she said she needed to get the other orders and she would come back. She never did. My Dad's friend ordered the chicken club without bacon. He received his sandwich and I thought he was eating healthy for a second and my dad commented that he thought he got a sandwich. My Dad's friend thought he did too, and I looked back at the menu and sure enough it does say it's supposed to come on a bun. There was no bun at all, but being older, he didn't want to send it back as we were already eating. We also observed the waitress, kind of put down another patrons, lunch plate, a little aggressively, and the patron was kind, but couldn't believe it. I have no idea if she was having a bad day so I can have Grace on that, but when you're in the public eye, Customer Service is scary much noted. My food was tasty. I would've loved to try their ranch with my onion rings, but she never came back to ask me that. We did hear a couple other of the patrons ask for mayonnaise and I don't know if they got that. We were there for a seminar, so we observed people in a small (there were 16 of us). I love the interior of Ernie's! It was my first time, so I was impressed by the decor and space. On our way out, there was a sign that said exit and it was the shortest way to the front door, but the same waitress told me to go all the way around. My elderly father has trouble walking so we took our time, and as soon as we made it to the front door, I witnessed a couple other people who were in our seminar go the way I had initially wanted to go, and no one told them otherwise. Overall, the food was good (my dad's friend would've liked it as a sandwich and not a "cut with fork and knife" situation) and the atmosphere was great, but the service was mid, at best.

Baby back ribs with mac n cheese and loaded baked potato

The service was really quick !!! Even if it was just us and two other groups of people. And as for the food, it was absolutely spectacular !!! I personally got the baby back ribs with the baked potato and mac n cheese. The only one I personally didn't like was the mac n cheese-I'm very picky about my mac haha. My parents loved their food as well. Although I will say, the absolute best part was their fried zucchini. Mouth watering I swear..

Filet with blue cheese topping. Loaded baked potato

We stopped by while visiting family in the area. I wasn't sure what to expect as being from the east coast I am accustomed to high end chain steakhouses like Ruth's Chris, Morton's, etc. Local steakhouses tend to be very hit or miss, and of course every region has its own standard for what defines a great steak. Ultimately, this place did a great job and definitely surpassed my expectations. I ordered the filet with a blue cheese topping, which was roughly $60 and included two sides. While I was initially skeptical of the price, I had to remind myself this is what high end steakhouses charge for just the filet a la carte. I went with French onion soup and a loaded baked potato for the sides. Both were delicious. The filet itself was perfectly cooked and very tender. If there's one criticism, it could have been cut a bit thicker to justify the price point. But the quality still made a big difference. I believe this restaurant is connected to a local cattle ranch, hence the top notch quality. We will definitely come back next time we're in town.

Sunset looking at through the patio. Stunning.

The restaurant had a quaint downtown feel with a welcome lack of pretension. And the food was 5-star level. We started with the chilled caprese which was light and delicious. The balsamic drizzle, one of my favorites, really added to the depth of flavor. My wife ordered the salmon which came with a phenomenal sauce. It was tangy and tasted of dill and really elevated an already flavor- packed meal. I had the Thai pasta dinner which was a fusion of Thai flavors with an Italian flair. It will be one of my new favorites with the Thai spices in the sauce covering spiral noodles. If you are looking for fancy food with a "friend next door" vibe. Brava's is for you.

I had the burger and we also tried the Thai noodle salad, and both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We loved it so much that we came back the next night. The owner greeted us again and personally got us seated, which made the experience feel even more special. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and we shared the sun-dried tomato Tuscan chicken pasta -- both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The owner even surprised us with a complimentary steak bites appetizer that was incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly. Amazing food, outstanding service, and such a warm atmosphere both nights. If you're looking for a great place to eat, we highly recommend stopping in. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

We got there right around 6PM on Monday. There were only two other parties there so service was pretty quick. I think we got our food without 15 or 20 minutes. Chicken Fried Steak Burger ($15.49) - Starting with the meat, we have a pork chop that's breaded and fried. The pork still has a bit of fat and gristle attached and doesn't seem to be tenderized that much given a somewhat more firm bite. Still it's meaty, has good seasoning and, while not especially moist, isn't dry either. On the exterior they have a nice layer of breading that's quite salty but adds a good crunch to the sandwich. On top of the meat, there's a fried egg with the egg yolk still runny. Biting through the sandwich allows the yolk to ooze out. They add shredded potatoes to the burger, which I found to be quite week. The potatoes are undercooked, resulting in pieces that have a bit too much raw bite without any additional crisp crunch. There's a peppery and decadent sausage gravy dousing everything, which seems homemade, with larger pieces of breakfast pork pieces. I found the burger to be way too rich and it desperately needs a piquant element to cut through that a little bit. Otherwise it's eating heavy bite after heavy bite and is difficult to get through. Still it's tasty. (3/5) Upgrade Side to Poutine ($2.49) - The burgers come with fresh cut fries by default, but I chose to upgrade to poutine. Apparently if you just ask for poutine, they use tots, but I asked them to switch to fries - and to make them extra crispy. Were they extra crispy? Not at all. If anything, they were more like extra soggy. The fries are clearly single fried and not fried nearly long enough to add any sort of crisp. The brown gravy and queso (tostitos perhaps given the peppers?) taste as expected. With everything together, it's honestly indistinguishable from microwaved leftover poutine. Probably the most disappointing thing I ate that night. (2/5) KC's Burger ($11.49) - The patty is beefy, cooked medium with a bit of pink, and is exceptionally moist and flavorful. They add tons of veggies, including pickle, onion, tomato, and lettuce, giving freshness with every bite. There's a perfect amount of condiments to add additional moisture, but not too much to make the burger messy to eat. This is a solid burger, honestly not much else I can say about it. (4/5) Upgrade Side to Green Bean Fries ($2.49) - I haven't had green bean fries before, so I had to order this. I have to say this was much better than expected - in fact, this was the best thing I ate during the meal. They have a pretty good crisp exterior and the interior green bean is mostly tender but still exhibits a tiny bit of a snap. The green beans are not soggy at all. I would get these over and over again. (5/5) Frybread Slice ($1.49) - This was the last chance to get frybread on our road trip and we took advantage of it. This "slice" is essentially a small doughnut triangle, maybe 4 inches at the widest. The dough is dense and heavy, bready and chewy, folded over in a swirl rather than flattened. The taste has a bit of a subtle sourdoughy taste, but also a bit of bitterness from the oil. It's definitely very different from all the Native American frybreads we had this trip. (4/5) The food at KC's is a bit hit and miss, but if you stay with the burgers and avoid getting the fries, you'll probably leave satisfied. I see a lot of the negative reviews complaining about service, but we didn't have a problem. Perhaps since those reviews were written, the staff has improved? Bathrooms: Two individual rooms ones for each gender in the hallway behind the bar. Overall rating of the food this visit: 3.6/5
