Absolute trash prime rib. I asked the bartender what was the best dish. He tells me the prime rib has been nominated as on of the best in the country. I go with his suggestion. I couldn't have chosen a worse meal. That prime rib was absolute garbage. Terrible cut of meat. Over cooked. And absolutely NOT worth the money. I also ordered a gin with seltzer and a lime. The bar tender splashes my drink with some sweet lime stuff. If I wanted sweet lime crap I would have asked for it. People who order a drink in a very specific way want it that way. The food was OK to good but nothing to write home about. The real down side is an automatic 20% tip for being 2 people of a larger party. For the life of me I cannot figure out why it takes more service for a party of 18 compared to 2 tables of 5 and 2 tables of 4. The real choker was a $5 service fee for using a credit card for a $72 dinner! When everyone in our party complained about being informed we were told "well, it's posted up front". Had lunch there as part of a big group. When lunch plates were served, my meal was given to another in our group who'd already started eating off the plate. Waitstaff asked, well I could have her plate, though this is not what I ordered. I hesitated and then was asked, well I could have half of hers (which was my order) and she could have half of mine (which was her order). For the sake of time, I agreed then the other diner picks up half with bare hands to put on my plate and waitstaff put half of mine on her plate. I also had the wrong side to go with, but waitstaff brought out what I'd ordered as a side, after I requested it. In the end, I had half what I'd ordered, half what I didn't order, and paid full price. I felt it was an easy mixup given the size of the group, however the correct thing to have done was take my incorrect plate back and remake my meal as I'd ordered. read more

My fiancée and I decided to try Ernie's Steakhouse on 10/10/22 mainly because Seasons, Mystic Cafe, and BoJacks were closed on Monday. The ambiance was nice at Ernie's and the bread was very good. We ordered the Sirloin steak (med rare) and steak bites (med rare). I chose French Onion Soup and house salad for my sided. They never brought me the soup. The steak bites were extremely chewy to the point they could have been a choking hazard because of all the grizzle. The sirloin steak came back med rare, but it was extremely dry which didn't make sense. How can a med rare steak be dry? It was! Ernie's specializes in steaks...hence Ernie's Steakhouse. This was a very disappointing experience. The only good thing was our server Tyler. My steak knife was dirty so I asked for another. The male host brought me another knife, but he was holding the blade in his bare hand which defeats the purpose of getting a clean knife. I'm not sure we will try Ernie's again. I visited this restaurant for a celebratory dinner and was super excited to try it out. My excitement was met with incredible disappointment. Too keep it short my husband and I ordered the grilled shrimp skewers and we were served the fried calamari . My husband ordered his filet medium rare it was served well. We both ordered soups as a side and even though our server checked on our table several times he never cleared the excess dishes so our table became very crowded with things that could have been cleared. My husband asked what the best amber ale was and our server actually said "I don't know I don't drink beer" not very encouraging given the price point of everything. When I ordered my second glass of wine it took 40 minutes for it to be delivered and by that time I had choked down enough of my meal to be ready to leave. The only thing shockingly high end of this establishment is the price of everything. $45 for an over seasoned over cooked chunk of meat?! I'd rather go to Applebee's and save the bank! read more

The food is just average (some slightly above) and the service varies between good and fair depending on how dedicated your server is.
