I used the restroom and was ushered right away to my room to meet Jessica and start my 75 minute massage. Jessica was my massage therapist and she gets a 5 for her massage! She was absolutely amazing. I have some hip tightness and she was able to do some active muscle release techniques to loosen it up for me. She has intuitive pressure and action as she gently or with necessary force melts away tension and knots. She provides a balanced massage equally attending to the whole body while simultaneously focusing on areas of need. I'd highly recommend stopping here and getting a massage from Jessica. read more

What a cute little shop located on the border of La Mesa and El Cajon. This place is painted lavender with darker purple trim - it is super adorable. You don't realize how huge this place is until you walk inside where half the spa is dedicated to services like haircuts, manicures, and pedicures. The other side is devoted mainly to facials and massages (the "quiet" side). It's a great setup and very welcoming when you walk inside. There's a receptionist desk and someone there to assist you as soon as you walk in. Now, to the best part. My manicurist, Jillian. She is amazing and her nail work is literally perfect. She spends so much time making sure everything is done correctly, with clean tools, and a bright smiling face :-) She is sweet, kind, and very professional. If you want amazing nails, she is your girl! She does fantastic nail art too!! I've been going to her for over 15 years and I'd never trust anyone else for my manicure/ pedicure needs! " Nice 75 Minute Relaxing Massage " I went to the ERoma Spa in El Cajon to have a 2 hour massage experience. A 45 minute Sauna and 75 minute Massage. The Sauna was not to good as the seating area inside the Sauna was uncomfortable, and the 45 minutes were a little boring. My husband purchased a Groupon deal for a 45-minute sauna session and a 75-minute massage for me at the ERoma Day Spa. I then found out that I was pregnant, so I knew that the sauna session would not be an option for me. I called ERoma Day Spa and spoke with an associate to see if it would be possible to schedule a 75-minute pregnancy massage for the deal, and explained that I would forgo the sauna session because it is advised against for expecting women. The associate told me that there would be no problem at all booking a pregnancy massage and we found a date and time that worked. I received a confirmation call the day before my service, as is typical with most appointments. I let the associate know I would be there and I was told they look forward to seeing me for my massage. On the day of my massage I arrived about 15-minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork. At this time the associate working the front desk told me that there would be an additional $15 charge for the "Pregnancy Massage" per the owner's instructions (I believe she said her name was Carrie). I let the associate know that I was NEVER made aware of such a charge, but instead I had been told it would not be an issue at all to book a prenatal massage instead. She told me that another owner was currently at the Spa, and that she would speak with her. I proceeded to use the restroom, and after a brief wait in the waiting area, I was taken back for my massage. At no point was I ever approached by the owner, so I assumed the matter was resolved. At the conclusion of my massage I was met and led out by my masseuse (who did a wonderful job) at which time I gave her a $20 tip. Upon entering the waiting area, I was approached by another customer to see if I'd mistakenly taken her keys from the couch where I had sat (the girl at the front desk evidently told them when I'd be out). I told her I had not and showed them everything in my hands. I then asked the associate at the front desk if we were all settled and I expected to leave. Instead, at that time she told me that I WOULD in fact have to pay the $15 charge. She said she spoke with the owner (Leanna I believe) and the owner said, and I quote, "Leanna said that when we called to confirm yesterday, you were told about the charge." I'm sorry, but WTF!? No I was not. Did the owner call me directly!? Or are you calling me a liar? Had I been informed during at least one of the calls where I spoke with an associate regarding this appointment, it would not had been an issue! That was simply not the case. And even more, upon reviewing the Groupon, no where does it state which type of massage is offered. My husband and I read through the entire listing, including the fine-print, and it only reads 75-minute massage. It does NOT specify which type of massage NOR does it state that certain massages will be permitted for an additional cost. I am beyond disappointed with the professionalism of the owner's at this establishment. Instead of waiting around to speak with me at the conclusion of my massage, Leanna took off and left her employee to deal with the matter. She didn't even have the courtesy to speak with me directly. This place is a hidden gem. Just 10 miles away from Downtown San Diego, this is well worth it. I got a 75-minute massage from Alex and she was super thorough, responsive to feedback, and attentive to my problem areas. She also did not skimp out on any of the time like some reviews I've read reported, I got the full amount of time and was super satisfied. My partner also noted that it was one of the best massages they'd ever had in their life (they had Jessica). I think the only things that I didn't like was the fabric on the face panel (it covered my nose and mouth, so I had to pull it away from my face) and that they had a fan blowing, but I guess I would rather have it on than roast in the room. As I sit in the Infrared Sauna at Eroma Day Spa, I can tell you that my single experience here has been amazing enough that I will schedule another massage with Vanessa. I used the Groupon (Thanks Hubby!) and was scheduled for a 75 minute massage along with 45 minutes of the Sauna. The massage was with Vanessa, who is amazing! The last massage place I went to the masseuse kept telling me to "relax". Lady, I am relaxed! My body is just one big knot of tension, and stress! Anywho, Vanessa was nothing like that last masseuse at the undisclosed location, and worked on my areas that needed help. At one point I think I passed out on the table and drooled a bit! This location is tucked away, and definitely a gem in El Cajon. I, and all my stress knots, will be back soon enough! PS. Had a deep tissue massage with Vanessa. She even hit an area under my shoulder blade through the armpit. It was painful but necessary. I require different things on each side of my body and she executed this perfectly. One side felt like I had a jackhammer taken to it, while the other felt like I was being massaged by a mermaid. My husband and I went for a couples massage and it was absolutely wonderful! Super relaxing and helpful for sore muscles and aching back. The spa was beautiful and clean and smelled very good. There were a few minor cosmetic changes they could make, like the exit sign was broken, etc but overall it was a nice place. We began our massage about 20 mins late which was not too bad but I do like things being on time since it is "appointment only". The massages were great, they really paid attention to the areas that needed to be taken care of. My husband booked me The Best of Everything Package for my birthday weekend (with a little help from me doing the research) and I'm so glad we went with this place! They had so many options for packages, and the prices are very fair! I'll start off by stating all the services i received were soo good! But will add, if you're looking for the boujie movie looking day spa type then this is not a place for you. Go to the casino and spend three times as much for the same services if you want that. It was basic by the looks but the services they offer are far from it! Starting my day package, i got the 90 minute massage first. I had Brian, it seems he had a mission to find every knot in my back that i listed as a problem area and to rub it out and he did just that! He began by reassuring i liked a hard pressure like i checked in the check-in paper, then asked about twice throughout the massage to make sure i was still doing okay with the pressure. It was so relieving and so relaxing. Then i had 20 mins in the sauna, which was the perfect amount of time, i didn't get too hot but they did tell me i could open the door of i did. You'll probably always be in the sauna alone if you're wondering about that unless you book a couples thing I'm sure, but it's small so I'm sure they book it individually. After the sauna i go to my body wrap/scrub. It was nice. If you're comfortable with your body then this is something to try but if you're not it may b something you'd want to avoid bc your completely naked and someone else is basically showering you. She told me guys are required to wear shorts during this service. The woman did offer if i wanted towels over my private parts but I was okay with it. She made sure it wasn't awkward, these people are professionals after all! But you basically get cocooned in a warm mud wrap for 20 minutes, it's kind of uncomfortable at first and itchy, but i did eventually fall asleep like the woman said I would. Then she came in unwrapped me, rinsed me off, and did the body scrub. It was a cool experience to just try and to go with my pamper day. After that followed my 90 minute facial. Bryan did this for me as well. He did a great job! Talked me through what i was getting and recommended me what i should get for next time with my face type. All throughout the day the receptionist walked me through service to service and made sure i was doing okay, brought me water, etc. she was very sweet! They also have a small locker room to put your stuff in with lock and key and offer a robe and flip flops for you to wear during your day services. I'm so happy with my experience at Eroma and will be back for my occasional massages and now facials! read more

I have not had the pleasure of a massage at this spa, but I look forward to it soon. I AM a client of Jean for my hair cuts and she is wonderful. She is the only stylist who has cut my short hair the way it grows. I have cowlicks that will not cooperate to change and the way Jean cuts my hair they lay exactly the way they should. I get compliments all the time about my hair and it's a style that usually only requires wash and wear. It can be fancied a little with a curling iron, but most of the time I don't need it. The most frustrating experience I have had so far with a massage. I specifically asked for a deep tissue massage due to the pain I have been experiencing in my back, shoulder and neck causing me constant pain and sleepless nights. I really needed the massage therapist to work through my knots, I kept asking for more pressure and what I got was no pressure at all. The next day I felt zero relief. I do not recommend going here if you want a deep tissue massage or need more than a feel good caressing touch. I complained to the owner but she was more than willing to take my $90 knowing what I was pretty dissatisfied as I had told her what I needed from the get go. I am only reviewing my infrared sauna treatment visit. I was having some serious congestion issues, so it was recommended to me to try this. I called about 2 hours prior to coming in and the friendly girl was able to find a spot for me. The facilities were clean, staff was friendly, price was reasonable (~ $20) but I had a couple issues. 1) There is no shower. After sweating at 130F+ for a half hour, I really wanted to shower off. 2) The sauna location - it's tucked into a hallway with curtain that doesn't entirely cover the sauna...I wanted to sweat in the dark but the curtains didn't allow this. I might return in future, but will look out other options that have a shower first.. read more

Would NOT recommend! We went with husband for a couples massage today. The treatment room for couples massage is made so cheap, undecorated and uncomfortable! I regret I didn't take a picture of it. There are only cold square tiles on the floor and even no small rugs for you to be comfortable to step on when you're taking off your clothes. There are also a big wall clock that's ticking so loud and a floor fan that's humming. The sound proofing is very poor so we often hear people taking during our massage. All of that doesn't help you to relax at all! The bedlinen was dark colors so we can't be sure how clean it was. We both were a little bit cold in that room.  My massage was awful too. I used to get massage pretty often and I have some experience to compare with. I felt like the massage therapist was not really professional and experienced. She was not paying attention to what she's doing. She forgot to work on my low back at all, even though there was supposed to be a full body massage. My husband's massage was not so bad but still NEVER AGAIN. One star. read more

I purchased a Groupon for this place for only $46. I purchased a 75 minute massage with a 45 minute sauna session. My masseuse was Jessica. She is the reason why I am giving this place 5 stars. She was incredible!!! She asked what areas to focus on, she asked about pressure throughout, she was relaxing and was not a chatty person. I appreciate her hands so much that day, my back and neck were in pain. Jessica got ALLLL my knots out. I was so relieved and relaxed leaving. I do however have one complaint... my massage was only 55 minutes (I timed it) so that did kind of annoy me since I was skimmed 20 minutes, but whatever. A little tip to anyone who does buy the groupon, when you schedule the appointment - opt out for the sauna session. TRUST ME. It's boring, uncomfortable, and awkward. AND quite frankly, why would you want to get hot and sweaty in a sauna before getting naked for a massage. It's weird and doesn't make sense.
