He owes me $1300, I sued him and won but unfortunately it's impossible to make the defendant pay!!!! Its been Two (2) months now that I've been without a car. Errol is my neighborhood mechanic & I'd give hive a shot at fixing my tranny even though I had gotten two lower priced quotes from other people. I payed in installments and that lasted a month; I had asked him how long it would take and he told me"One week tops" thought it was a great deal/service. Just had my first experience with Errol and his team and can't speak highly enough about them. I stopped by yesterday evening and he asked me to drop it off this AM at 9:30. Around 11 he gave me a call, explained the issue and gave me a super fair price. He answered all of our questions and had new calipers, rotors and break pads done by the evening. I like coming here when I need car stuff worked on! Errol is a good, honest guy and has taken a look at my car problems for free. The first time I came here, I almost past right by. It's a super tiny place and you sometimes have to park with your car sticking out in the street a little bit. I feel that the service has been pretty good, sometimes slow. I did find one of the service guys eating his lunch and drinking his coffee INSIDE of my car. There was lettuce on the floor, from his sandwich and the seat was really wet, from where he spilled his coffee. So gross! I'd go back for Errol, but next time, I'm going to make sure he keeps his guys out of my car during their lunch breaks. read more

Had a bad car day and Errol came to the rescue! Was on my way to the Infiniti dealership to have some warning lights checked and the alternator died on the Westside highway stranding me a few blocks away. Blessing in disguise because I saved a lot of money by this happening, as the dealership wanted an arm and a leg just to diagnose the issues. Knowing what the problem was and what I needed, I called around while I was waiting for my tow. First, the dealership wanted $700 plus for the parts and labor plus they needed to order it. Other places were quoting me at the same level. Called AutoZone and found the alternator for a third of dealership cost. Called up Errol and he quoted me at half of every other garage for the install. Had my car towed to Errols at around 3pm, walked to AutoZone, bought the alternator back to his garage, and he had me back up and running the next morning... saving a lot of cash in the meantime. Errol is the best. I have been taking my Toyota Sienna to him for the past 7 years. He is always fair with his price and turns the work around quickly. Four years ago I had the van towed from New Jersey after it broke down, so he could install a new engine. The repair has held up. I'm going to have to agree with most of what BM had to say here. My overwhelming experience after my initial meeting with Errol has been extremely stressful. I know one of his new mechanics and he's top notch which is the reason I went to his establishment. I don't he'll last very long there cause he's got integrity. When I got to Errols shop I was told only Errol gives estimates. I waited over two hours for him and could not wait any longer so I went back the following week. This time he was available. He was attentive when I explained that I needed him to put the car on the lift and check it out for problems such as the brakes, leaks, alignment, fluids and anything out of the ordinary as well as the body work that was necessary. He said he would provide me with an estimate that afternoon so he could start work asap on what I could afford. No call. I called the next day. His employee said he wasn't there and he would give him the message. Again, no call. I called the next day. Same deal. Now it's Sunday. He held onto my ride for FIVE days. At the end of it all, you guessed it, no estimate. I felt the fool, angry and now stuck. It messed up my week and my weekend. Please don't waste your time. There are other mechanics. Plenty of them. Don't bother with this one unless you have a personal in with him or the job is super simple. My car's not fixed after almost three weeks of trying to go to him! SMH. Sometimes trying to support a"mom and pops" is not worth it. read more

I was graciously greeted by Bell, one of the mechanics, who then introduced me to Errol and squeezed me into their late schedule. Errol is awesome! I am a clueless car owner, and therefore I am usually concerned with getting ripped off. But the first time I brought my truck to Errol, he gave me the exact price I had gotten at my parent's auto repair shop in rural Masachusetts. Just recently I brought my truck to him because the engine light was on. I also asked him to check the brakes because they were squeeking and not working so well. He repaired a vaccuum tube or something in the engine, tuned up my brakes AND then charged me nothing. He's great. read more

Errorl's shop called to tell me that my car was ready. Which was great, because I really really needed it to get my daughter to her doctor's appointment upstate in a few days, during a very stressful time in life. I show up the next morning and they say I will have to come back later because they can't accept payment at that time. I go to work and show the following morning around 9:00 (so I don't have to take off work) and again attempt to pay. I'm told I have to wait (what turned into more than an hour) or I had to pay an almost $1000 bill with cash because Errol didn't trust his workers enough to run the credit card transaction???!!! And I'm supposed to feel good about their mechanics at that point?? Of course by then, I was irritated that this was second day in a row. I didn't have the days at work to take off and I really needed to my car for my daughter's health. They block my car in so I can't take it. When Errol finally strolls in after well over an hour, only to tell me it was his car until I paid and that in addition for some reason he felt I should feel lucky that he was working on my car. Again they attempt to get cash (which I can't just get that amount from an ATM); and if they wanted cash they should have said in advance if they were cash only. Their scummy not pay taxes business approach are not my concern. Avoid Errol unless you want sexist, rude unprofessional behavior that makes your life harder when dealing with car issues. read more

Decent for small repairs and oil changes. Highly recommend taking it to another shop for major repairs. Mechanic did a terrible job on an engine diagnostic and repair. He also initiated repairs without consulting me first, so make sure to specify you want to be notified before moving ahead. read more
