My father is a car wiz and he recommended that I take my Subaru over to Jack to get my car issues fixed. Man am I glad I came here. This place doesn't look that appealing from the outside looking in, but these guys know what they're doing and are so incredibly honest. They put into account what your budget is and will do their absolute best to calculate what issues need to be resolved first before all else. Prices are fair and reasonable, and they get the job done at a very quick rate. Absolutely no bs! Jack has been my main mechanic (rounder guy and he's hilarious) since 2005, and since I travel so much between Philly and NY, I've had my fair share of mechanics that I've gone to. No one comes close to these guys. No one. I've been a loyal customer for 8 years, and even though I'm so far away from these guys, I always go to them for any of my issues with my Subaru. Went for an inspection last week and found out that Jack & Tony are retiring and sold their shop. They were still around for the transition period, probably for another week. The new shop is A + 1. I spoke to John, one of the two partners and he seemed like a nice guy. His partner fixed my noisy exhaust system, which was corroded at one of the joints by cutting it out and welding in a collar for $80, which was reasonable for my beat up 2002 Camry. Okay, so I have a 2016 Honda Fit. The ONLY issue I've had with it (twice now) is the undercarriage screws come out and then the plastic bottom of the car just drags on the ground. Took it to Honda to fix the first time (I had to do something else too that was specific to the dealer..) but asked these guys to look at it just today. They lifted it, secured it again in all the spots they could, and I was out of there in like 10 minutes. It took me longer to get my car there from my parking spot on 35th st! Will definitely be coming back for routine maintenance and stuff- this only cost me $20 (I left a nice tip, don't worry) and I know some places have a lift fee more than that. Now I can visit my parents in PA and not have to worry about my undercarriage falling off on the NJ turnpike! read more

I've been going to these guys for years with 3 consecutive beater Hondas. They are honest as they come, and they are aware that you can't always pay for everything: they'll tell you what needs work, what can wait, and what you shouldn't bother doing. Their rates are reasonable, as mechanics go, and never had problems with the parts they put in. Jack is the guy with the rounder face who smiles a lot (my mnemonic: "Jolly Jack"), Tony is thin and serious. No nonsense, timely, and straightforward service and car repair. I highly recommend Jack and Tony for most repairs that you'll get charged a fortune for somewhere else. They let me bring my own parts and never try to trick me into getting some unnecessary repair. If they're not the best place for a particular repair, they let me know. All cars need maintenance and upkeep from time to time and everyone hates getting their vehicles serviced because we've all been burned by shady or incompetent mechanics always insisting we need to spend more. It is so hard to find a trustworthy, money saving, and time efficient mechanic. Jack and Tony deliver on all three of those things! So far I have had them work on my exhaust system, do inspections and deal with some old parts that were no longer working such as my hood latch cable! They do not do more work than is necessary and they know how to find parts at a good price. They are also quick and do not run the clock. New Jersey breakdown get's treated great in Brooklyn.. I got the dreaded phone call at 7:30am that the company work van broke down in Brooklyn. Not driveable. Panic. The driver spots Jack and Tony's as the closest option. Within 90 minutes he is out of there with an extensive repair to the rear disc brakes. I went here because of the Yelp reviews. My Honda is used and older and I need it to keep going without spending a ton. My radiator was leaking. I dropped it off and it was fixed in no time, with no upselling or bull. This place is as good as it gets. Quality doesn't come in big names or flashy shops, it comes in down to earth, honest and good character and experience. That is why I've frequented these mechanics for a variety of cars. They give you straight up, economical options to fix your car. They let you know what you need and what you don't need, while looking out for your pockets. So first off these people are great both jack and tony but, I actually took my car thief today for them to stop it over heating and he charged me over 100 to install a thermostat and 2 hoses which is a very expensive price but worth it I guess , he said I need to change my res tank for anti freeze then it will be fixed so i ordered it it arrives Monday I will install it my self and we will see how it goes , but all in all very nice people and very professional read more
