DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by such a rude, incompetent dentist in my life. At my first appointment for X-rays and cleaning, i was scheduled for 5:00 pm, they didn't start until almost 6. I noticed immediately how rude his staff was. The only kind person was the woman who works the front desk. The rest of the staff made it clear they do not want to be there. When I met the dentist, he spent more time sharing innapropriate political opinions than addressing my teeth. I had checked off in the questionnaire that I experience anxiety, and when he first met me, he asked me why I had anxiety (?!) Working in mental health, I was astonished at how he phrased the question, asking it in such a demeaning and sarcastic way. He also made jokes about the state of my teeth. I truly think he doesn't not understand patient care. I'm shocked he's still in buisness. Today, I returned for my scheduled fillings appointment. He knew I have TMJ and that I was worried about jaw pain. He seemed annoyed that he had to use a tool that is commonly used to help people keep their jaws open while doing my fillings. Again, he started talking about politics and making innapropriate conversation. With my mouth wide open, I can't tell him I'd rather not discuss it. He seemed to rush through the fillings. When he asked me to open wider, it was with a rude and condescending tone. His assistant was also rude and aggressive with how she was using the suction / water spray in my mouth. He was rude when speaking to her too. The fillings were done, and it was time to sand them down. He began sanding them, and checked to see if I could still feel the extra filling. I had to tell him 5-6 times I could still feel it. Not only was he deep sighing and scoffing, he began to get annoyed that I was "using too much of the imprint tape" and that "I might be able to feel it but he believes evidence." I was SHOCKED. How could a dentist ask me if I can feel the 4 fillings he just did, I say yes and point to where my bite is now uneven, and he gets upset with me? I became extremely uncomfortable. Not only was this man gaslighting me and telling me I COULDN'T FEEL IT but he was extremely rude and sassy when denying me MY REALITY. I've had fillings before. I know how it feels when they're sanded down properly. I kept my cool, trying to be polite as possible, as this man and his rude assistant were scoffing at me. He kept looking over at another patient who had arrived for their appointment, rushing with me, making passive aggressive comments under his breath to his assistant. The final time he asked me if I could still feel it, I told him yes, and pointed again to where it felt uneven. He got annoyed, rolled away from me and said "well, I guess I'll just keep going then." The amount of tension and anger I felt coming off of him made it so I no longer felt safe being around him or his staff. I knew I had to leave. No dentist should be that annoyed or mad at a patient for STILL FEELING A POORLY DONE FILLING. I asked to stop and informed him id get the sanding down done at another dentist. He got upset, rolled away on his chair and threw his hands up in the air. He definitely has anger issues. I got up, began to cry, because I have never been treated so disrespectfully before in my life by a medical professional. Ever. I told them I will get it done elsewhere. He began to ask me what was wrong, playing dumb, as if he hasn't just been treating me horribly and denying my reality. I let him know I'd never been treated so terribly and will never be returning to his office. He didn't apologize, he did not try to make it right. I went to the front desk, they let me know it was covered by my insurance, no copay. I left. Please do not go to this dentist office. I should've checked yelp before I went here. An odd Dentist... I went here when I was younger and would bring up weird topics about politics while cleaning my teeth. Also, he was rude when I denied getting braces from him so I believed I dodged a bullet. He's got a weird condescending attitude. Stopped all services from him. The lady at reception is quite nice but the rest of the staff were rather rude. I had decent expectations, none of which were met. His dental practicing is barbaric and careless, I was very uncomfortable throughout the entire process. I found he and his assistants did more harm than good, blatantly sharing my medical information with everyone in the waiting room (his patients are not in private rooms, believe it or not; they all are in one small and cramped operating room with no doors and direct access to the lobby). The staff also seem to be quite prejudiced. It was until I was given anesthesia where I drew the line, They shot it straight, causing a burning sensation to run through my nose. They didn't even apologize when I was in clear pain. My entire face remained numb for hours. Will not return and would not recommend. read more

Since I'm on the hunt for a Delta Dental PPO near my house, Dr. Carracedo was recommended by a friend. I had really high hopes, so maybe that why my expectations weren't met . . . Dr. Carracedo and his team are unquestionably one of the nicest dental offices, but I likely will not return for any more services there. First, my appointment for a routine cleaning was scheduled for 12, but I didn't leave until a little past 2. Second, his assistant was quite rough when polishing my teeth. She sat on one side of me and for some unknown reason refused to roll her chair over to the other side when working on another side of my mouth, which meant the metal polishing tool thing was gyrating against the corner of my mouth at an awkward angle. Maybe I'm sensitive, but that corner of my mouth was irritated and tender the next day. Plus, her lack of skill or unwillingness to move resulted in a bunch of powder getting all over my face, which would have been okay if she didn't decide it was a good idea to try to wash it off with a cold wet towel. Finally, when Dr. Carracedo came around, he was pleasant and gave me tips for taking caring of my teeth and gums. He complimented me on my excellent hygiene, then did maybe a 10-15 minute "cleaning" if you want to call it that. I felt like it was very precursury, and there was no scrapping of cleaning of tartar that I am accustomed to in prior cleanings. Although he was very nice, I am sure he spent more time talking than he spent cleaning. Now, just a few days later, I don't feel the squeaky clean that I usually feel for at least a week or so after prior cleanings. After mulling it over, the irritated corner of my mouth and not clean enough teeth feeling have compelled me to cancel my next appointment. It's quite unlikely that I will reschedule. read more

I have never had a more horrible experience in my life! Dr. (If you can call him a Dr.) Carracedo humiliated me and violated my HIPPA rights in the dental chair in front of three other patients also in dental chairs, all the patients are in one large non private room! It's totally weird! His bedside manor is ridiculous! He came in extremely pretentious and introduced himself behind me couldn't even have the decency to introduce himself or talk to me in my face as if he's too important to do this! He asked me about my medical history very loudly and still behind me in front of a room full of people!! I had to say the answers loudly since again he couldn't have the decency to come talk next to me like a descent human being! This is a clear violation of my HIPPA rights! He asked exactly what happened at my last doctor visit and had me tell details! What does that have to do with anything? I stated I wasn't comfortable talking about this in front of people and he told me to get up and go to his office then like I was a child! I said, "No, I'm not going to your office you come sit next to me so I don't have to answer your questions so loudly in front of people"! He was a pompous jerk!!! At this point I was extremely defensive and my answers were very short! He very rudely informed me that because I am on Dentical I get silver fillings (which are not healthy for humans and a very old way of doing dentistry)! I told him I am NOT ok with silver, grabbed my belongings and left! His bedside manor, rude demeanor, horrible way he does dentistry SILVER FILLINGS, and violation of HIPPA, this guy needs to be out of business! He humiliated me! I am filing a complaint with the California Board of Dentistry!! He should NOT be practicing!!! I forgot the crappiest part!!! He looked in my mouth and I kid you not goes, "Ewe!!! You have a big cavity, you have two"!!! He LITERALLY said EWE!!!! I am NOT making that up!!!!! Again, in front of a roomful of people!! I am taking action about this!! Also, for those on Dentical, please go to UCSF Dental School! They accept Dentical and I ASSURE you won't put toxic silver fillings in your body to save money like this guy does! Clearly he doesn't care about the well being of humans! He puts MERCURY in those with state insurance??? Come on now! UCSF is where I'm going!!! A deep cleaning there costs $200 for Dentical patients and "Dr." Carracedo charges $600 of which I have a really good feeling wouldn't do a good job and you would waste your money! It's a longer process at UCSF, but you KNOW you are getting quality care unlike this clown!!!! I was informed by a doctor that typically dentists that accept Dentical do it because they aren't good doctors and need to fill their books! Oustanding dentist! In the Philippines, he was a professor who taught dental students. Dr. Carracedo thoroughly explains everything to me as a patient. Many dentists will refer their patients to an oral surgeon to take out their wisdom teeth, but I didn't have to go to one since he does this procedure himself. He is also an orthodontist. Dr. Carracedo and his staff are always friendly to me and my family. read more

I really like Dr. Carracedo, his staff is very friendly. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out, had filling, cleaning, deep cleaning. I have been going to Dr. Carracedo for 15 years. The only reason why he did not get five starts is because in a few occasions I had to wait or he was running late. I also wish he would give out tooth brushes like the other dentists but he doesn't :( but other than that he does really good work. read more

I have been going to Dr. Carracedo's practice for over 20 years and he has always taken care of me. Always professional, pleasant to talk with and his staff is great as well. I am not sure what all the negative reviews are about - they are a bunch of overly sensitive whiners! VERY disappointed with how incredibly rude Dr. Carracedo was acting! This is our first time at his dentist practice and he did not leave a good impression. Our appointment was at 12:00 pm and we got their earlier so we wouldn't be late. We waited a hour or more after our appointment time! So I asked receptionist who was with the doctor at the time if I could come back in 20 mins because I had to pick up my daughter. Not even a sorry from Dr. Carracedo, though he did say "Medi Cal patients have to wait this long. If you don't like to wait, go find an other private dentist. If he doesn't speak English (referring to my father), go find a Chinese dentist." If Dr. Carracedo didn't want Medi cal patients, then why did he sign up to take on Medi-cal patients? After that point, we left. We will not stand for his condescending attitude. I have never experience this unprofessionalism before. read more

I was very dissatisfied with the service that I got from this dentist. The receptionist was just about the nicest person in this dental office. Everyone else, right up to the dentist, was very unprofessional and callous in their dealings with the customers. The head dentist seemed also VERY CONDESCENDING. this orthodontist is terrible! the receptionist is really nice tho. but the head orthodontist won't let me do boxing because it is a contact sport. i've been doing boxing for 2 years with out the slightest problem, until he found out. unlike other more professional orthodontists this one does not recommend mouthgaurds! he tells me that i should just wait for 4 more months before i can go back. it's because of him, i couldn't go to a tournament in LA. this guy is a douche, he called my coach stupid too! he convinced my parents that boxing is bad for me even tho they allowed me to box for about two years! this same guy said i could hurt my teeth bowling! BOWLING!!!!! how the hell can someone hurt themselves bowling. if i broke my teeth bowling, i'd probably deserve it! read more
