Top notch place for steak and southern food and charm! The steak does not need any sauce whatsoever, cooked to perfection and the sides did not disappoint! Kids menu was on time. Love this place for what it is. Well worth the visit. Food is very good. The beer was ice cold. We usually order the ribeye and they have always been cooked right to temp. The sides are old fashioned and well worth a try. The desserts are worth the calories. Don't expect a fancy white cloth experience - it's more country cloth. The building is fascinating. The atmosphere is friendly and local, the servers are like old friends. But watch that cashier. She's up to something. I might need to ask her on a date sometime. read more

This was our first time at Erwins. It was a last minute decision when we were craving steak and had known about the restaurant yet never been. It's out a bit and not in a typical location for a restaurant, but it was a cute place and all the staff were very friendly. Service was fast too. My mother always told me, "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all..." I held my tongue all night as I was at dinner with my future in-laws. I ordered salmon with a side salad. My salad was clearly bagged lettuce... My salmon was so over cooked it was white... I literally ate 3 bites and just smiled and said I was full... I noticed everyone's sides were not made in the kitchen... Instant mashed potatoes, canned green beans (not even the good canned ones), and canned corn. The steaks were thin and over cooked. My wife and I have been eating here for a few years. I would have to say this is one of my favorite places to eat in Tipton County. If you enjoy pit roasted meats and sea food with all the vegetables you want, then this is the place for you. Fair warning: they don't serve any fried food. The menu consists of steaks, country ham (my fav), bbq (pulled pork type), shrimp, fish and a weekly special. They also offer a full compliment of vegetables including salads. Order all the veggies you want, I do. Three or four different sides are also offered weekly. The pies are a special treat, usually made by the owner Jeff who is always there to greet you when you arrive. As far as beverages go they have soft drinks, tea, and beer. You can bring your own wine and they'll even put it on ice for you. Now for the bad news. They are only open Thursday from 5pm-9pm and 5pm-9:30pm on Friday and Saturdays. I realize that it's a drive for many that live in Memphis but if you are out and about in T-County while they are open I highly recommend them. read more

The food was excellent. The portions appropriate to the individual. They prepared the steaks to our liking (medium rare). I tried the BBQ alligator 1 skewer and it was very delicious. When I paid for my meal I bought a shaker of their seasoning. I can't wait to grill some shrimp at home and try it. The way the restaurant is decorated is really neat. Walking back they the bar gives you a feeling of the old south. Our server was great and so helpful in ordering from the menu. The squash casserole, green beans and mashed potatoes were SO good! What a bad joke for a restaurant! Ordered prime rib, awful excuse for a steak, dry and a very bad taste, I knew that moment I tasted the mashed Potatoes that the meal was going to be bad, they were instant potatoes, what kind of restaurant serves instant potatoes? Great side dishes, salads, and pies. Very attentive servers. Ice cold beer. Very accommodating staff. Unique: you can have all or as many of the side dishes with your meal at no additional charge. No fried foods so don't ask for fries with that burger, you'll have to have a baked potato or salad. read more
