Today I ordered the lunch special: pulled pork barbecue with fresh homemade coleslaw, crispy French fries, and a Dr Pepper. Everything was delicious, fresh, and exactly what I was hoping for. I had the pleasure of meeting Kenzie, who provided excellent service, and the manager, Cory, who was friendly and welcoming. I learned that Kenzie makes all of the restaurant's homemade fried pies. Cory recommended the chocolate fried pie as one of his favorites, and after trying it, I completely agree--it was absolutely outstanding and the perfect way to finish the meal. The restaurant itself is older and a bit dated, but it is clean, well-maintained, and has a warm, hometown atmosphere. During my visit, there were plenty of locals dining in, and I noticed a steady stream of customers picking up to-go orders, which says a lot about the quality of the food. I have high standards when it comes to food, customer service, and cleanliness, and I'm happy to say this restaurant met every one of them.
