Came here with my friend after work. We grabbed seats at the bar. They have the doors open and it was beautiful weather out so it was nice and open for us. We started off with two margaritas and the chips and guac. Service was fast, efficient and unparalleled. You can tell they really care about their customers. The guac and chips were freakin perfect. If I was to order that I'd want the chips to be theirs every time! So delicious ... especially the guac. We wished our margaritas were a bit more spicy but still a great drink made. We tried the frozen margarita as well... that was fantastic. Not too sweet and very refreshing for a summer day. The straw given was fun. The shrimp tacos were delicious and it came with 5!!! I wish I had a better word for delicious maybe mouth watering. Really this spot was so great. My friend ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and the first words she said after taking a bite were "omg" she said it was so crispy so good. 10/10 for that sandwich. It was trivia night here. We didn't play but still fun and in all great vibes from all of there employees. This place was a 5 star bar. Totally exceeded our expectations.

I celebrated my 30th birthday at E's, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience!!!!!!!!! Ajay and Mia took amazing care of us and were so attentive to our group of 23, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the night. The food and drinks were incredible !!! Our open bar package was immaculate and so smooth! We also ordered large platters, and everything was handled with so much care and attention. The entire team was incredibly welcoming and kind, and they let us decorate however we wanted, which made the night feel even more special :) We were able to fully enjoy ourselves without worrying about anything!!! A huge thank you as well to Erin for helping make this birthday so special. Truly the gold standard for bars - thank you to everyone at E's for an unforgettable night! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!! BOOK YOUR BDAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very sad birthday experience :( A warning to those who make birthday plans here-- I am very disappointed by my experience, which is so sad to say because I don't usually judge harshly in my reviews. But being that this was my birthday, and was lied at to my face, it was kind of a bummer. So...What Happened? I chose the upper west side to have my party so my friends wouldn't have to be hit with congestion pricing. E's made it easy online to book a space in their bar, so I reserved for 20 people. I guess that was too easy. When I got there, we were seated at a table in the front of the bar with only 10 seats. When I went up to the person that sat us down, I asked where our other table was because we had a reservation for 20. The response was, "oh people usually just stand around the table if it's more than 10 people". Bro...what?? No where online did it say that. It was my birthday, and I was embarrassed and disappointed. Eventually the folks sitting behind my table moved and my group took over that space but that wasn't until 45 minutes later. We then had a server for my table who promised us a round of shots for the group. I asked 30 minutes later about the shots and he told me no. So not only did we get screwed over by the seating, but the empty promises made it worse. So..Anything Good to Say? The aesthetic is cool. I liked the jukebox they had in the front half. Food was decent too, I have to give it that. If I was introduced to this place with a small group, I would've had a fantastic time. But with a group bigger than 10, and shoving us all in the walkway comes off as stingy business practice. Overall My friends made my birthday special, but I had a hard time fully enjoying myself feeling so embarrassed by inviting all these people and them having to be crowded on standing while they eat. I feel betrayed by this place low key. I don't cause scenes and didn't the other day but the empty promises, and me having to face my friends like this was an awful feeling for me. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, nor fussy. I love to celebrate businesses and that shows in my many other reviews. I'm way bummed by this experience.

Spreading the Yelp love for #ThankYouThursday to this bar that made my birthday this year so special and fun! As many New Yorkers know, it is so hard to find a spot to make a large group reservation without a fee or food/drink minimum. E's is the place! We had a reservation for 10. You put a credit card down to hold the reservation and there is a cancellation policy. However, there is no minimum or fee to reserve a large table! This spot is definitely more of a dive bar, but it is so fun! The music was pumping and the drinks were flowing! They even had a sign on our table that said "Cara's Birthday!" So cute! They also have a plethora of board games you can get out and play at your table. Thanks for making my birthday so fun and stress free this year!

Damn, that chopped cheese burger is so good! Haha The place is a bit too crowded + divey for me. I'd go back for that burger though. That is all, that is the review.

I love this bar! I go almost every Tuesday for trivia. The staff is so amazing. The happy hour deals are pretty good prices, the food is also very good for bar food. We love the nachos. It can get crowded for trivia so I recommend booking a table in advance. It's such a great vibe inside with many booths and cool stickers on the walls. I love coming here

Drinks were on point, service was decent. Loved the vibe. Spacious with outdoor seating. Great for small or large groups. Will go again. Stumbled up on this place just strolling. Nice surprise.

Love this bar! Happy hour is great - and I need to come back to try their burger - they have lots of board games for you to choose from as well

First Impressions: This spot became one of my favorite local spots to hang out ever since the pandemic and outdoor seating started. I love the vibes and the happy hour crowd. I always end up meeting dope ass people here. The Noms: The happy hour food is filling and cheap. I wish they'd expand the menu a bit more since I like coming here so often, it would be nice to have more options. Last time I came here with a girlfriend, one of the guys behind the bar offered us wings (which I would never turn down free food, lol) he said he was trying out two flavors to trial on the menu. It was good, love the spicy sweet flavor best.. the other one was just regular buffalo wing sauce. If you're reading this... PLEASE EXPAND THE HAPPY HOUR DRINKS MENU! Thank you! I love coming here for trivia nights and for karaoke. I'm too chicken shit to actually go up and sing, but I love singing along as a backup singer lol. This has become my default spot to take out of town friends who visit (along with Prohibition) so please please keep improving! In Conclusion: 10/10 would recommend coming here and have brought many friends here in the last two years since I discovered this spot was dope AF!

He mentioned to me that he knows a place in the neighborhood that has really good burgers. I usually go to my familiar spots, but I figured the way he was talking this place up for their burgers, I might as well give it a shot. Why not right? So we enter "Nobody Told Me", which is a new venue in the neighborhood, at least to me. It was cool. We sat at the bar. I asked for a menu and the Bartender just pointed to the menu that's on the wall. So I made my selection of Burger. I'm honestly probably a boring Burger person because for the most part I just like meat, cheese and bun. I mean, a nice fried egg over easy doesn't hurt. I've also done that with some mac & cheese, and it was incredibly delicious but also, very gluttonous to say the least. lol. In any case, I ordered my burger. Meat, cheese, and bun. I think it was a double Patti Smashburger maybe? And it came with some fries. The burger was good. It was actually better than what I expected. It was juicy without being all bloody and had flavor. It was also a pretty good size.. I mean I couldn't finish it.. I don't eat huge portions or meals.. The fries were good too. I might request a bit more crisp on the fries if I go back. That's just me.. But they were good nonetheless. Burger and fries also had a bit of a lite oniony flavor to them.. I guess to add some flavor.. As far as the vibe in the spot, it was cool. Room was dim as it was day time outside so it was chill. Seemed to be a pretty young crowd of new people who have recently moved in the neighborhood. Who knows? I've only lived here for 50 years.. but it was a cool experience.. They had some cool music playing lightly so you can carry a convo.. In any case, if you are looking for a pretty good burger, I'd give this place a try.. And there you go! Have a great one yall! -Ray

All but one round of drinks were at the happy hour price and each drink was now $20. It's odd because the food happy hour orders didn't go up but the drinks did? Either way, we didn't agree with the bill and after some discussion with the bartender, it was lowered but they tacked on an automatic gratuity (I guess as a way to compensate) but it was only two of us, so that should have never happened, especially since gratuity is optional. This experience honestly ruined the vibe and our willingness to come back again. It's really a shame because we looked forward to Monday happy hour because getting good drinks at that price is rare in the city and is a nice gem when it happens. I understand the desire to cash in on events like this, but your originality and integrity is what keeps customers and return customers. I'm sorry but I don't think I'll be back, even though it's a nice establishment. This experience was just too sour.

My experience at Jacob's Pickles was incredible and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion. This special southern gem has it all figured out. They beat the myth of having "too big of a space" or "too large of a menu". Their speed and service is extremely fast. Waitstaff are very friendly and collaborate very well together. GREEN FLAG that they are always busy with very rare downtimes. I recommend to secure a reservation if possible. The menu has a wide variety of options. As a repeat customer, I can conclude the consistency of quality is 100%. By comparison, the new one is much better and much more fitting, while still being moderately loud but not earsplitting, presumably due to both the ceilings being a lot higher and the tables being more spaced apart. It's also a lot brighter, with plenty of mirrors on the wall and larger tables. As mentioned by most others, the portions here are rather massive for NYC, even in comparison to some diners and delicatessens, which makes the prices pretty reasonable. Our large group went here for something I rarely do: brunch. The servers were reasonably overwhelmed, but still friendly. Knowing how big the portions are, I only ordered the $22 Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which is typically served with pepper jack cheese, crispy onions, and hot sour pickles on a home-baked brioche bun. I did something I rarely do, which was ask for a substitution. In this case, it was cheddar instead of pepper jack, and it was obliged. The sandwich was quite large and a bit difficult to pick up, as it was pretty messy, but the flavor was nice. The chicken was juicy, the batter was pretty light, and there was a load of crispy onions. The pickles added a bit of sour crunch and a bit of heat, and the bun did just well enough to keep it all together. Overall, it was tasty. In terms of other dishes, there were a ton. I had one of the many tasty Deviled Eggs for $15, served with pickled mustard seed, smoked paprika, and pickle chips. From the same appetizer section, I particularly enjoyed the $13 Okra & Chilies, made from smoked & pickled okra, red pepper flakes, and scallion. I liked the smokiness, and the okra had some good grill marks, with this being the lightest dish on the table, outside of the Pickle Sampler someone else got. If you're looking to have a heart attack, I would order the decent $19 Poutine. Featuring fries smothered in brown gravy, cheese, and a hollandaise drizzle, I would compare it more to disco fries or other forms of loaded fries. This was due to the lack of cheese curds and the style of gravy. Outside of the comically massive portion, it's fine. In terms of other mains, a few had the two types of Smothered Chicken, either with sausage or mushrooms, for $24. Someone else ordered the non-spicy version of the same sandwich I got. Finally, another got the gigantic $24 Chicken & Waffles, consisting of buttermilk fried chicken, a golden waffle, house maple butter, and powdered sugar. There was also another entree, but I don't remember the details. I preferred this experience a lot more than the previous time and would recommend them for brunch, at least. Just come very hungry.

Let me be clear, the main redeeming aspect of this place is the talent on stage. The musicians were exceptional and deserved far better than the environment surrounding them. I ordered a scotch neat, something I'm very familiar with, and immediately knew something was off. When I politely flagged down a waiter, he responded with visible annoyance, as if I was inconveniencing him by being a paying customer. I explained the issue and simply asked if it could be checked or replaced. Instead of addressing it professionally, he walked away without a word, returned holding the bottle and my glass, and said, "this is what you were poured," before carelessly tossing the drink back onto the table. No apology. No explanation. Just attitude. It escalated from there. When I confronted him about his behavior, he denied it outright and then doubled down with an aggressive, confrontational stance, getting in my face and effectively threatening me. His exact words? "If I tossed your drink on the table, it would have been all over you!", and "Man, shut yo ass!" Completely unprofessional and unacceptable in any setting, let alone an establishment that positions itself as upscale. The manager's response was just as disappointing. Instead of addressing the behavior of his staff, he blamed me, asking why I "chased" the waiter and suggesting I should have gone directly to him. That's not how basic customer service works. I tried to resolve the issue directly, respectfully, and without escalation, something his employee clearly had no interest in. I was thinking if I talk to the waiter first, he wouldn't get in trouble with his manager. To make matters worse, the manager continued to defend the waiter rather than de-escalate the situation. At that point, it was clear this wasn't a one-off issue; it's a reflection of how this place operates. I paid my bill and left. For a venue that attracts world-class jazz talent, it's astonishing how low the standard of service is. This place is doing a disservice to the artists who perform there. I will never return, and I would strongly caution anyone expecting a professional, respectful experience to look elsewhere.
