Great food great atmosphere, love the rice and the salsa is delicious.!!!! Definitely worth trying

Went there the other night and ordered a steak fajita, which we have ordered on previous visits. First: we saw on menu that the price had increased 4$ since last time which was shocking. Second: we split the meal between 2 people. Third: When got bill we were charged an extra amount of money to do this !! Fourth: The wait staff is slow and not very informative Why do they place an extra charge to split a meal??? when they know that it is enough food for four people. Every Friday I order the same thing cheese and onion Enchiladas and corn chowder. I have half of my Enchiladas for dinner the other half for dinner on Saturday and corn chowder for dinner on Sunday. The food is always great and so is the service I've only ate in the Ortonville location a few times and never had any issues. read more

My dad ate breakfast at Escamilla Amigos every Sunday for YEARS! We stopped in after my dad passed to carry on the tradition. Our service at the bar was wonderful! The food was excellent, plus the personalized service and stories about our dad was exactly what we needed! Hernan and his family took great care of my dad every time he stepped foot in their restaurant. They knew him like family! go, just wanted a plain chicken quesadilla I got there to pick it up and it was almost $20. They tried to argue with me about it Saying that it comes with beans and rice and it's a whole meal, got home and opened it and there's about half of a palm size serving of rice same with the beans and the quesadilla itself was really flavorless and Bland and the rice had a really disgusting taste of it as well. We love the chicken quesadillas! We usually order the quesadillas as a take-out and the staff packs up the quesadillas separate from the toppings to ensure they don't get soggy on the drive home. The quesadilla alone has a lot of flavor and perfectly crisp, but it also comes with plenty of delicious toppings and sides to go along with it. The staff is always very friendly and has our food ready in a timely manner no matter how busy they are. Definitely our favorite place to get chicken quesadillas from :) read more

What a surprisingly great visit! We were on a trek to Ortonville and Davison from Lake Orion and in the middle of a busy day of gardening and planting. We decided to stop to get a quick bite to eat and had such a great meal! We had the El Pastor tacos, a plain burrito and a chicken fajita burrito. The chips were good and the salsa had a great depth of fresh flavor to it. The guacamole was like heaven!! Cool and creamy with chunks of avocado that hit the spot. My Pastor tacos were so flavorful and well cooked - delicious! The fajita burrito had fresh peppers and it was huge! The atmosphere is fun and easy. Super place to stop. We'll be back! read more

ROCK IN MY CHIMICHANGA Honestly, I have been a loyal customer for awhile & they have the best chimichanga's I have ever had. So naturally I was extremely excited when my boyfriend brought me one home for dinner. As I was scarfing down my chicken chimmy, I bit into something so hard that I thought my tooth broke off.... SPOILER ALERT: IT DID. I spit out the wad of food and found a GOD DAMNED ROCK IN MY CHICKEN CHIMMY. If you eat here, make sure you double check your food before putting it into your mouth. First time here. I like the place. Plenty of choices. I enjoyed the beans, rice and their salsa. I had the cheese and onion enchiladas. They were good but slathered in cheese over the enchiladas too much for my liking. Our server was very good and handled our group of ten easily. Sorry I forgot her name. I want to go back and try some other meals. We sat in the dining area separate from the filled bar area so we were able to hear each other talk. read more

Food is hit or miss as far as taste and quality go. On the days it's a hit, they knock it out of the park and their is nothing better anywhere. On the miss days, it makes you wonder how they stay open. The service is always good but depending on the cook the food you have a 50-50 shot. read more

The service was great our waitress was nice. She got everything we needed. The food was okay at best I got the steak fajita. It was okay there was some flavor the rice and beans didn't have any flavor. The chips were pretty greasy but the salsa was great. Had the shredded beef chimichanga, oh yum! I asked for the queso on the side as other yelpers suggested. Great idea. Also ordered an appetizer of queso, it was great with the salsa they make as your free appetizer. My friend got the tostadas and they give you three, wow. She loved hers too. Amazing food and staff, of the 20+ times we've gotten food from them it's only been less than perfect once- carry out they forgot something small, a side item, one time and actually called us apologizing and offering to make up for it before we even realized it was missing. If you're ever having a taco craving this is the place to satisfy it. Most amazing AUTHENTIC Mexican food I've ever had from a restaurant. Their salsa could win awards if that was a thing. The waitresses Carrie and Mikaila are absolutely awesome, provide amazing service, and always put a smile on my face! All other staff are great too (just don't know their names). The food is never very good here, it sucks that more choices aren't available for Mexican in northern Oakland County. Today my wife and I got carry out (her request). Both of our meals had grilled chicken (for $1.00 more). Poor choice, the chicken was tough and tasteless, like it had been sitting out overnight. We won't be back. read more

This is my second time here. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is friendly. This time i got the shrimp tacos and they were excellent! Shrimp was seasoned perfectly and there was a good amount in the tacos! The refried beans are a bit blah but they mix well with the rice :) read more

Tried this place on a Sunday night. The dining room was small, and almost full, but most diners were starting to leave once we arrived. We sat at a table, were greeted with menus after several minutes, and asked for our drink order. It took about 10 minutes to get a water and a coke. The menu is ridiculously huge for a Mexican restaurant. They have diner food as well as Mexican, which should have been a red flag, but my sister ordered cheese enchiladas and I ordered a chimichanga, which came smothered in "cheese sauce," which I declined and asked for enchilada sauce instead. My sister also told the server that we needed to make a carry out order, a burrito dinner, and to put it in when our food came so it would be ready when we were done. By the time we ordered, the dining room had cleared out except for one other table. The food came somewhat quickly, although my sister got chicken enchiladas rather than cheese. The enchilada sauce was oddly sweet, and not good. The beans were watery and bland and the rice was completely tasteless and crunchy like it has been around for a while. The idea of a chimichanga being smothered in sauce is stupid because it was totally soggy by the time it was served. My sister wasn't happy getting the wrong order, and waited several minutes to tell the waitress but she didn't come back. She was so hungry she said screw it and ate the chicken enchiladas, but was so disgusted only ate about a quarter of them. We waited quite a while for the carry out order, which never came. The waitress finally appeared with the bill, and of course the carry out wasn't on there. Again, it was quite a while until she came back to the table. My sister had to go to the bar to tell someone we still needed the order to go, and the waitress responded, "Oh, do you still want it?" Uh... Yeah? I guess it wasn't that stupid of a question though, after having eaten at Escamilla Amigos I wouldn't want to serve it to my family ;). Two stars for having cold beer. read more
