Menu says, "Our Ultimate Smokehouse Feast All six signature meats -- Brisket, Burnt Ends, Ribs, Pulled Pork, Jerk Chicken, Sausage Served with four sides and two cornbread. No substitutions." For our sides we ordered onion rings, sweet potato fries, pit beans, and macaroni and cheese as our sides. Appetizer - Chips and Queso tasted like nothing - bland. Meats - Brisket had good flavor, but dry. Instead of "fall off the bone" this rib meat was sealed to the bone. Dry. Chicken did not taste good. Pulled pork was decent - average. Sausage was flavorful. Burnt ends were delicious. Sides - Pit beans had good flavor - very sweet. Sweet potato fries were just sliced potato - no salt. Onion rings were solid but the onions were massive so they kinda just slid out of the batter. Macaroni and cheese was by far the biggest letdown. So bland. Cornbread was sweet but not overpowering. Total was $77 before tip and overall super disappointing. I hope to have good barbecue in Michigan one day, but today is not that day. We would not return. read more

This is the second time we've had a horrible experience. We came once during the holidays and had a very bad experience. We had spoken to a manager who explained it was a busy holiday week and apologizing and letting us know this never happens. I convinced my husband to give it another try today. Bad choice. We arrived before 6pm. They were already out of 2 basic BBQ items, we decided to stay anyway. Ordered drinks and then ordered 2 sandwiches. A brisket sandwich and a BLT. After 7pm, more than an hour later and after 4 tables around us ordered after us and had food (2 had gotten dessert too) I decided to go to the bar and talk to our server. I tried to get her attention and she looked right at me then turned and walked in the opposite direction when I waived and said excuse me. It was so obvious that the other patrons at the bar noticed and commented that she was avoiding me. I approached the other bartender to get my tab for drinks so we could go get dinner someplace else. She was kind an took care of me. While I was paying the tab our server approached my husband and the table and said "so you are leaving". Rude! Never again. I am all about second chances but in this case the 2nd chance was worse than the first bad experience. read more

This is the second time I've been to Jack's and the jerk chicken never disappoints. Inside you find a nice small town vibe bar and grill serving BBQ. The staff were friendly and kind and made sure we were happy with everything. The only thing I'd recommend is adding a sauce to the jerk chicken wrap. Stopped in with friends for a quick dinner. We found service to be a little slow at each stage of the order, but they had awesome live entertainment that we enjoyed while we waited. The food was great. Brisket was really tender and flavorful. The salad was great and fresh. The corn bread was delicious, sweet and cake like, very unique. However, the service and waitime was lacking. Our waitress was a bit unattenative. It took about 40 mins to get our food. Another table had to get up and flag their waitress down. Only looked like there was two waitresses working on a Friday night and they both seemed stressed. Also they did not have beans or pulled pork. A small, friendly bbq restaurant that has some great meats. Pulled pork and the jerk chicken are so good I would recommend getting the platter to fully enjoy it. Second time we've been here on our way to Holly recreation area. Convenient and quick with large meals. (The better to not get hangry setting up your camp site.) Not only does this place have amazing BBQ they also have the BEST club sandwich I've ever had. They get busy and sell out, when they didn't have what I wanted the server suggested the club sandwich. We are return customers, at risk of becoming "regulars"...on our second visit, which was several weeks after our first, we were stunned that our server, Miranda, greeted us with a big smile AND remembered our drink preferences! Very impressive! As avid carnivores, Jack's does not disappoint! The brisket is amazing...but the Jerk Chicken has become our favorite go-to, whether we order it on platter, on a salad, or with the dirty rice plate. Our son LOVES the loaded mac and cheese. Jack's vibe is more than comfortable, with low volume sports TVs through out. There is friendly chatter from the patrons around the bar, and I have enjoyed the 'tenders spirit offerings. This was our first visit today. A nice restaurant with a great choice of BBQ food. I tried that Carolina (pulled pork, topped with coleslaw.) The pulled pork was very juicy and had a great taste. The coleslaw was mild and not overpowering which made a nice sandwich. The French fries are great! I am very picky about fries and those were the best I had in a long time. My wife had tacos (they have Taco-Thursdays). She loved them. The service was very good. Everybody who works there is very friendly and nice.
