Can we talk about Margaritas? Well, this place can with consistency! There Apricot Margaritas are delicious but not for the faint of heart, a bit spicy in the lips. All I can say is keep them pouring. The Cowboy Burrito is pretty darn good and enough to share. Micala (spell check) our waitress the last time is pretty good too. There were warning signs on our way in. Thursday night. Empty. Gen Z staff. We should have left. But no. We are idiots who want to spend out hard earned money on substandard service and food. If you want to TLDR: Go to Taco Bell. Starters: Chips and a salsa flight kinda thing. There was Pico. I didn't try, my son did and said it tasted like vinegar. There was a cheese sauce kinda dip thing. The cheese skin was already formed when it reached our table. The cheese sauce thing was alright. If I never have it again, I won't miss it. Then there was the guac. To the staff making the guac, don't use the avocado when it turns brown. That's not good, not appetizing. I found some none brown, and it was over powered by the cilantro. So, I guess when you cannot make guac, bury the taste in cilantro. Bottom-line on this: Avoid it. Save the cash. Dinner: Barbacoa street tacos. My son ordered these. Three of them. With a massive side of meh refried beans and a mound of dry "Mexican" rice. One bite was enough, he did not finish. Enchiladas: My wife ordered cheese enchiladas, and they showed up with the mountain of dry rice, and bland refried beans. She ate half of one, said they tasted funny. Dipped chips in the beans and ate that. She said she regretted coming to the restaurant. Not just the enchiladas. Chimichanga: Same rice. Same beans. Daughter said that she'd rather have Taco Bell. The majority of the meal was left untouched. Tacos Pastor: Same rice. Same beans. Bland. How do you make bland Pastor?! I ate them as I was hungry by this point, but something seemed off. Like they were phoned in. And...today at Sams Club, I found: Pastor Taco filling in the re-heat section of the Club. The shape of the cut? The same! In fact, I'd bet that that's what I was served. Reheated (in a microwave) Sam's Club Pastor. Then there's the service. Rude is the first impression, follow by total apathy. There was no one in the restaurant when we arrived, and only one person came in while we were there. The entire staff were buried on their phones. When they had to engage with us -- which was rare -- it was as if we were asking them to roll a boulder up the side of a mountain. They simply didn't want to be inconvenienced. They wanted to be tipped and that's all they cared about. The cost of the meal vs the reality of the meal: $100 for four people, for substandard, bland Mexican food, that could be outdone by a fast food outlet. Add in the apathetic staff, and I cannot stress strongly enough that you should avoid this place. Save your money. If you must have Mexican food in Oxford, there are other places. And all of them are better. This restaurant deserves to go out of business. read more

What an amazing spot and restaurant layout. Inside or out the venue was great. We sat outside by the garage doors and truly enjoyed ourselves. The service was top notch and they even allowed to go drinks as we walked around down town. Make sure you get the street corn - elote. It was out of this world! No complaints here. Tacos were great but my personal fav was their elote! The salsa verde that came with our tacos def made the meal taste so much better. Wouldn't get the beans next time though, they unfortunately weren't too tasty imo and gave me a big stomach ache afterwards. read more

We stopped by to check out this (obviously new) place. We were the only people there and closing time was in under an hour. The temperature had dipped into the mid sixties, so the two ladies with me, both of whom were wearing short or no sleeves attire, requested they consider closing the three large roll up doors which had converted the place into basically an open air location. The response was in essence "Nope because nobody will know we are open without music blaring inside and out through the open doors. So we left, and they lost paying customers in hope that some other paying customers would happen by. Additional problems include that the entire restaurant seating booths are made from raw plywood. The edges were left unfinished, and far more than a dozen new pills were pulled into my shirt from it. The owners need to consider finishing the edges of the plywood tables before it destroys someone's expensive designer attire. And train the staff better. Sadly, place not ready for business. read more

We were very excited to try Mero Mero, but unfortunately, we don't plan on returning. The few decorations were fun and cute, but the walls were bland, and the hammered-in nails were showing throughout the boards. The steak fajitas were good, and so was the queso (although a bit cold). We received chips and salsa on the house when we sat down, which is nice, but to add a side of queso is $11. Since we saw the price for the chips and queso appetizer, we asked if we could order just a side of the queso. The server said yes, but then we saw the receipt, and we were charged the total appetizer price, despite getting another serving of chips. So we asked about it, and the manager came over to us to explain that it's priced so high because that's the price of queso at every Mexican restaurant nearby. The interaction felt quite tense and unprofessional. She gave us a $4 discount which she told us was half off. Interesting. Anyways, this is where things get extra strange. When we got the new receipt, it said "discount $4 off" and then the total underneath. Below the rest of the items listed and the total, it said, "Food $1" So I guess we got $3 off? I'm not sure what happened there. We decided it was best at that point to just pay, tip, and leave because it was starting to get silly. read more

Went during the soft opening week, so we were prepared for the inevitable little glitches that occur. There was only one small one and our server remedied it quickly. It's a very cool space and the margaritas were delicious. It's a small but tasty menus. We had a taco plate and a burrito, both were very good. It is NOT a sit down family meal type place. It is a cool, modern vibe type place best suited to adults looking for a few libations and some simple but unusual Mexican fare. The Street corn was a nice touch too. Yummy. read more

Updated review. Now that Mero Mero has reopened and made changes I'm very satisfied. The first go around was rough but they redeemed themselves and addressed the shortfalls. The new menu is amazing and the prices are more realistic and portions are huge. I had the trio fajitas and they was plenty to go around. I had 3 tortillas and my wife had 1. We still had leftovers for my teenage sons shen he got home. Margaritas were great, chips, salsa, and quezon are a must. read more
