Love this place! We have yet to do an escape room but have thoroughly enjoyed the bar/food! The decor is top notch and we have always had great service at the bar! The food and drinks are reasonably priced and delicious! Love coming to this place and hope they will expand their menu/hours a bit! They definitely need to advertise the food/bar more as many people are not aware this is also and restaurant and bar and not just an escape room. read more

So much fun! We did the prison room. Beautifully designed, great amount of detail and wonderful hints when requested. The game master was funny and very attentive. The bar is awesome looking and the bartender was very nice and totally happy to help us debrief after we got out. I highly recommend. It was a great way to spend an evening! read more

The room and puzzles are pretty well thought up, but horribly executed. Things wouldn't work and then we were told we were doing it wrong despite doing the same process, apparently you have to push things with a very exact amount of pressure also or the puzzle order gets somehow pressed... Also had one where they had to give us more of something because the puzzle would fail read more

I've loved this spot in the past but last night we had a really bad experience. It was my friends birthday and we had a group meet here for dinner and drinks and to do a room if possible. We let our server know before we even ordered drinks that we were interested in a room and it was my friends birthday. We asked about it numerous times. 20 minutes AFTER WE ORDERED FOOD, the manager comes to our section to give us two options: "You can either eat or do a room because my kitchen is working overtime." Excuse me? It's 8:30 on a Friday night and our food is almost done, right? Extremely unprofessional management. Our server was great though. read more

Alright you know I owe it to my self and to the viewers so need to be honest I'm sorry. But went to watch a Baseball Game with my son which was nice to be family friendly. Ordered the Escape Fries for starters and it was very very salty, it had garlic, chives, parmesan cheese not recommended. Ordered a 805 beer $4.75 is the price got charged $5 ordered my son a cheeseburger with only meat, cheese and lettuce $13 it was for the kid I guess I should and ask for the kid menu. But overall not that good for kids to eat. First time experience was disappointing sorry. I hope they improve and hope people got better experience wish this place nothing but the best. We really like it here! They have decorated the place so nicely. Very tastefull and well done. The bartenders are very nice and friendly and they have a great selection of wine.....we give the wine list a total thumbs up!!!! Went with a group on 10/26/19 - 8 of us - started with drinks and food. I have to say, I give 5+ stars to the bartender. Poor guy was completely alone since apparently the server called in sick, but he rocked it! He still came out from behind the bar and brought us our food/drinks/napkins/ketchup/etc despite my offer to come meet him at the bar to get it myself. Top notch customer service. I ordered a tri-tip dip and the meat was yummy but it came out on sourdough instead of the advertised ciabatta roll. #1, I don't care for sourdough bread and #2, it's not strong enough to support the juicy meat and au jus, but the fries were tasty. Little disappointed there. We chose Escape Yagers Tap House and the escape room itself was really fun and we almost solved it (albeit with the three clues we are alloted), we were only 1 clue away when the timer went off. Can't wait to go back and try the Escape Folsom Prison! Oh, also it's too warm in the escape rooms - please blow some air conditioning in there! read more

Maybe the other rooms were fun, but I sure don't get the high ratings (but the bar is a cool space). After doing numerous escape rooms, this needs some polishing up on the experience. The prison room is small to have ten people in the space. The host we know was not feeling too well, but it felt rushed to get out once the sixty minutes were up. Pad more time to allow for questions from the people of the host. It was obvious the host didn't have a lot of time to spend with us and was basically shoo'ing us out of the room. So many escape rooms really make it a full fun experience from beginning to end, and this wasn't it. Such a bummer because it is a cool looking space. I didn't care for the puzzles and it was just an odd flow to items. Things that I appreciate about other escape rooms: lockers for your stuff (particularly with large groups of strangers) also your stuff doesn't impede with clues, variety of locks, better explanation and tips for new players to escape games, and pad a tiny bit more time between groups. read more

My husband and I had the Brussel sprout hash, mushroom AND pulled pork sliders and a chopped chicken salad that was way above ordinary. Wonderful experience! We decided to head into old Folsom for lunch. We saw the Escape Folsom sign from the parking lot and checked it out. We were greeted by Jim, who turned out to be one if the owners. He gave us a tour, talked about the history of the building. All the Escape slots were reserved do we decided to eat lunch. Wow! The deviled eggs & brussel sprout hash are great appetizers. I had the Escape special salad that was an amazing chicken chopped salad. Can't wait to bring our friends ! read more

Great venue. There is something for everyone. Lunch was delicious and the bar was hopping. Nice selection of craft beer and wine. The Escape rooms were booked but we will definitely be back. They did an amazing job keeping the integrity of the historic building but creating a space where you can truly escape! The sliders were my favorite part about Escape Folsom. We arrived early so we could eat before doing the Tap house room. With a group of 4 we fumbled around in the dark for 15-20 minutes before getting the lights on which I feel is a cheap trick rooms use to "increase difficulty". In any case the props in the room were refurbished old school bar props which was neat but the puzzles associated with them made very little to no sense. Our group luckily ended up doing the correct things randomly because we didn't have puzzles for what we should've been doing until the last 5 minutes of the room. The last thing we opened had a puzzle journal telling us what we had already done which made me think the reset was potentially done incorrectly? Not sure if we would play the other room if we ever do go back to this place. read more

What a fun evening! We love old Folsom and the location is perfect! The building is so cool and the inside is beautiful. We had a group of 8 and attempted to "escape" the historic Yager's tap room. Our group was a range of 13-71 year olds including our exchange student from France. We ALL had a blast! Two of the kids had been to different escape rooms and for the rest of us, this was our first time. It did not disappoint! We laughed and worked together and had so much fun! We didn't visit the bar for food or drinks this time, due to time constraints. But we will definitely be back soon! The kids can't wait to try the next challenging room! read more

Escape Folsom is a great experience. The bar and restaurant, which includes craft beer and an excellent selection of wine and food are outstanding. The deviled eggs and brussels sprout hash appetizers are unique and delicious and the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato jam is amazing. The decor in this building, built in 1854, is authentic. The escape rooms, which have many original antiques and artifacts from Folsom Prison are fascinating and the escape games are challenging. We will definitely return with friends to see if we can escape. read more
