Took my boys and a few of their friends to this place, & they really enjoyed themselves. The prices were pricey, but not too pricey to where it took the enjoyment out, especially when there are other places where the price is high. When I called, I was told it's best to make a reservation & pay ahead of time due to how many boys I had, but I decided against it and took the risk because I'm not generally on time, & luckily, it worked out! He even gave the boys a little extra time while us adults finished up with our session- which we decided to get on after seeing all of them! It was overall, a great experience, with a really nice host. Photos: are all from one side of the room. There is another side, which my siblings & I were at. As far as "booking a party" I would advise against it. I didn't book a party, just showed up as soon as they opened (10 people total). Had the place to ourselves, gladly. Omg this was SO fun! My friends and i had such a blast! It was our first time so we did not know what to expect. With majority of us (party of 7) being gamers, we were naturally competitive and got into the missions immediately. We were so serious about winning and working as a team.. it was hilarious. Non-stop laughter! Lol When you enter, there are two separate play areas. It's an open floor plan so there's alot of space to walk around. We did the hero zone option for an hour play and got to play 4 games 15-20 min each. Highly recommend the zombie and cooking game. Is this place open for business? Called three times yesterday at 3pm to try to book and had some questions. All calls went to voicemail. Decided to drive over there since it was only 10 minutes away. Door was locked and open sign was turned off. Notice the hours on the door says open at 2pm on Tuesdays but yelp says they open at 3 which tells me things have been neglected. Every year I like to do something different for my husband birthday this year I decided to bring him here, he's a big gamer and I thought this was something different. Very fun we made an appointment, ppl say go with a crew but I decided to go with just us and we had an amazing time. We had a couple of fun jams but the worker helped us out right away. This was such a fun family experience. I had a hero-zone Free-Roam session for a family of 7, adults and kids. Day of, I asked for reschedule to push our session back to a later time. Sean responded to my email within 10 minutes. Games we played: Dead ahead: circus 10/10 INSANE up in your face scary clown zombies. We were all screaming. Arrow head: 7/10 fun arrow work arms gots tired. Cyber shock: 7.5/10fun futuristic galaxy some ducking and jumping involved- good workout. Out of breath Wizard escape room: 5/10 we failed and this wasn't my choice of game to play but the visual were really cool. My focus and vision were going blurry/crossed eye at times but I think that's just me and my eyes. I did try to adjust the focus. This made reading some of the smaller print in the escape room this kinda hard. The waiting lobby between games was fun. We were all sweating at the end. But such a fun experience! We came here to celebrate my son's birthday. We do have an Occulas at home, but we have never been at a facility where all our friends can be on at the same time, in the same room. This was a fun experience. We rented the facility for about 2 hours. There is a very small room that connects with the larger game room for a tight party place for food and drinks. The bathroom was located near the party room but opens to the large game room. It is a weird layout, but most people are using the headset device, so they'll never notice it. If playing with the right people, you can all play the same game at the same time and it's a lot of fun, especially if you rarely ever play with a VR. The owner was helpful in giving us instructions on how to use and would periodically walk around to help out. After the headset use, he would disinfect and wipe down what would touch the skins of the players. I would recommend this place if you have a group larger than 4. Almost like an escape room if you are all working together, but you don't all need to be playing the same game together. It is more fun that way though. read more

My boyfriend took me out for my birthday to celebrate and try something new. We paid for two online and his cousin tagged along and had paid when we arrived. We chose the $45pp, 1hr free roam zombie VR @6pm which consisted in 3 rounds, 10min/25min/20min. Quick process to start, but after we finished the first round, the headset had glitched out or something on one of ours. The kid working had to reboot which took up about 10-15 minutes. By 6:30 we started the second round, and at the end of that second round it was 6:59. We were confused and expecting for the 3rd round to start but as I take off the gear, the kid was packing up and he had walked away. So I asked from afar if there was supposed to be a 3rd game and his words exactly, "it's 7 o'clock." We're all looking at him like wtf that supposed to mean lol online it says 8pm is their closing time and he responded with them having "technical difficulties". ((I can see that!)). Hit us with some more BS excuses, and even said "some things just happen." Long story short, we ended up taking the L. For $140 we were taken aback since we weren't given the time to play the full hour. Instead we played for 40 and got to watch him reboot and reset the headset for 20! Experience was fun, but for $45 a person for an hour, or should i say 40 min? Nah, wouldn't recommend if this situation was the case. + Kid working needs some customer service skills. All three of our games have very very low volume which really impacted the quality of the game as we could not hear the story of the game and it was not a good experience. My som has been through a lot in his short life. Some days he's locked inside of his head. When you ask him if he ok, his answer is very canned. "I'm fine," it's heartbreaking. Any mother would fine something that would ease their child's pain. When Zion was at their smaller facility that's when I discovered the combination to unlock his beautiful brain. Creativity, and sometimes his aggression is released and just like that he's back. The owner moved to the larger facility in Rancho Cordova yet even with massive space increase it's still a family friendly atmosphere. If I could give half stars it would be a 3.5. When we showed up there wasn't much of a greeting and they didn't seem confident in what was happening. They set us up for our game and explained everything well, once we were in one person in our group couldn't connect and we had to continually ask for help. Part way through the escape room other ppl were connected to their games right next to us which ruined the experience. They were screaming and yelling at each other so we could no longer hear each other or enjoy our game. Once again we all started losing connection and the employees were off chatting in a corner so we had to go out of our way to find them for assistance. At one point the game completely disconnected and we were told it was because the time was up, but our clock still had 30 minutes left on it. Overall we enjoyed the VR Escape Room experience but they need to separate the rooms, work on connectivity, and have employees dedicated to paying attention for things that go awry. read more

Virtual Reality is sooooo cool!! The zombie game we played was tough but was SO fun and awesome! I though one hour would be plenty of time, but it is definitely not enough time. I followed the website's instructions and pre-booked my timeslots. The process is easy and we had a mini tutorial on controllers. It took a little bit to remember the controls and get started. You play in your own cube but can be linked for multiplayer games. I wish they set us all up in the same game before playing, because we were starting to play, realized we weren't in the same game, then got disconnected and had to reload, but the time for this process counted towards our gameplay minutes. Once in the game, it's pretty intense and real. I found myself actually tiptoeing over cars to peek over the top, crouching down to hide, and leaning over cars and walls to sniper zombies..otherwise if they spotted us, we'd get rushed. I felt like we were in an episode of The Walking Dead. It was super fun and it sucked that we died a few times and had to start over, but wow! What an amazing experience! I can't wait to come back to play a longer session. On Mondays they have a discounted deal for $20/hr. Also, extra points for being greeted with a smiling baby pic and a cute little chihuahua puppy curled up in its blankie behind the counter! Awww babies, puppies and games..win win win! read more

This is one of my favorite places in all of Sacramento. I could literally spend hours here. It is located in the same spot as Red Door Escape Rooms and the Sac Town Mini Golf (previously Monster mini golf). They have upgraded their spot since they were around the Arden area by Costco. Even for a video game noob like myself. I went with my family (group of 7), and we spent an hour trying games from their extensive library of games. They have games that are single player (like Angry Birds) and ones for multiple players. Our favorite was laser tag! The controls and concept are fairly straightforward; we did both the capture-the-flag style and the one where you just shoot as many people as possible. Highly recommend for a fun group outing! While not 100% photo realistic, the images & sounds produced in the virtual environments, coupled with hand controllers for fully interacting with the environments, will quickly pull you in! Your VR experience takes place in an empty bay (so you don't trip on anything while interacting in the VR) which is open on one side. The VR Headset is attached by wire to the ceiling above you, however you are able to freely move about within the space of the bay as you interact with whatever experience you have chosen. Sessions are paid by the hour. As of this review it's $30 for one station for one hour. If you want to play with friends, there are additional discounts as you add additional bays (1 person per bay but able to interact together with your friends). You aren't locked into just one game if you want to try several. Simply let the attendant know you want to try something else. An upgrade that is being developed will soon allow you to do this yourself within the VR environment. The owner, Sean, and his assistant (a software engineer that designed the VR interface) were both very helpful, friendly and patient, taking time to answer questions and explain how it all works. With eight different stations and hubs equipped with HTC Vive controllers, headsets, and headphones, this place is shaping up to be really cool! You pay for an hour of time but they add twenty minutes to half an hour to that you can get adjusted to the controls--which was great, since time flies while you're having fun. I paid for two stations and while they accept walk ins, if you're coming in with a group, I'd recommend putting in a reservation or giving them a call! They offer a discount if you book four or more rooms too! Each headset and pair of controllers are sanitized between each use, so they're very attentive to multi-person use. There's a large list of games available that you can choose from and the staff are quite knowledgable about the games too! If you're not sure, you can always give a game a try and switch to another one if you prefer! The games are played through Steam so there's the possibility of online and co-op play if you're with friends! They have monitors so that you can see what your friends are playing/seeing, as added fun. If you're still not too sure, stroll on in! They're more than happy to give you a free demo just to show you what the experience is like. The staff do such a good job of explaining the controls and help you put on the equipment too! It was around $30 an hour to play, and believe me an hour is enough time. No one ever tells you that VR is exhausting. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself, but I decided to play a horror zombie game. If you think playing horror games on a regular TV is scary, VR is a whole new level. You are entirely immersed. You are the zombie hunter. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest as I screamed and ran from the zombie straight into the wall. When I say wall, I don't mean the virtual wall, I mean the actual wall. Such a fun experience!! I keep thinking about coming back and finishing our zombie game. Too bad my boyfriend and i live on the southern part of california. My boyfriend and i played the multiplayer zombie game. It took a couple of times getting mauled by zombies to get the hang of things. After a while it was pretty easy to figure out how to do things like change guns or throw a granade. The worker there was really nice and even helped us out by giving hints. There was a glitch in my part of the system 30 minutes into the game and the worker ended up restarting the game as well as the time we had. I only paid for an hour and to me that was not enough time. I could have played for 2 hours straight. The entire time I could communicate with my boyfriend through a mic and it was just really realistic. This was a super fun experience and my boyfriend really enjoyed it. read more
