He was very attentive and while we did use 1 hint when we needed it he was quickly there to help! He surprised us at the end once we escaped and took several awesome photos of us! We played The Inventor's Workshop: The room was so fun and had such a neat story, puzzles were unique and inventive with a wide variety of puzzle styles, and there was enough to keep all three of us busy but still communicating with each other as we searched and strategized. Definitely take the time during your Big Bear trip to do a Mountain Room Escapes adventure. Matt and Leila are fantastic, the main escape room building is located close to the village and they even have an outdoor scavenger hunt option full of different locations and puzzles to complete throughout the village. We had so much fun with the escape room, we ended up booking the scavenger hunt for the following day. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Talk about a hidden gem! Matt and Tony were fantastic hosts. We have done several escape rooms and this one was by far the most fun we've had. The atmosphere was nice and the puzzles were tough but fun. My husband and I managed to escape with about 1 minute left!! It was awesome because it was just the two of us doing the escape rooms. We did the cabin room and the inventors workshop. The riddles were amazing and the technology integrated in the inventors workshop room was mind blowing. This was my family's first adventure in an escape room. My oldest (16) had done one with a soccer team, but it was all of our other kids (14, 11, and 10) first time. We did the Cabin room, and we had a great time. You have to communicate, which can be tricky with teens that know it all , but we eventually figured it out. I forgot our hosts name, but he was chill, and came in a couple of times because the kids were just tearing through stuff, and you have to keep track of what you're doing. Overall this made us LOVE the idea of doing these types of events as a family, and for sure we will be back. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mountain Room Escapes. Our family was up in Big Bear for the week and looking for fun activities for our two boys (8 and 10). We were worried that an escape room might be too advanced/spooky for them. Matt was AMAZING. He made the boys feel welcome and was lovely during the game. At one point, my littlest wasn't feeling well and Matt asked if he'd like to sit in the "control room" and rest while he watched us play. Truly above and beyond. Mirroring all the 5 star reviews already on here - we had a great time at Mountain Room Escapes. We did the Alpine Ski Lodge escape room. The set up and challenges were fun, clever, and well laid out. Went with 3 adults and our 2 small kids ages 4 and 5. Our 4 year old was a little anxious probably from sensing the grown ups sense of urgency and adrenaline but still enjoyed participating looking for clues around the room and our 5 year old was so proud being able to complete one of the puzzles on his own contributing to our mission to escape. First escape room for both kids and we're grateful Mountain Room Escapes provided a very reasonably priced fun family friendly activity that we were able to enjoy with our little ones while in Big Bear. Will definitely be back to try another room next time we're in town. There was so much snow everywhere in town after the recent storms that there was enough fun snow play in the area to not really need another activity for a short weekend stay but we're happy to have made time during our trip to support local businesses and it ended up being the highlight of our trip!
