I was completely wooed into choosing Escape Rooftop Bar for my wife's birthday. The reviews promised incredible drinks, impressive food, and a memorable experience. I can confidently say they delivered on one of those things, the experience. Unfortunately, the food felt like a failed attempt to escape... an escape room. Let's start with what absolutely works. The location is stunning. Truly breathtaking. The views are spectacular, the atmosphere is elegant, and the setting makes you feel like you have unlocked a premium level of Fort Lauderdale nightlife. The service is upscale and unhurried. No one rushes you, no one pressures you, and you are encouraged to linger and enjoy the moment. From a vibe perspective, you are winning. The drink menu is limited, but what they offer is top notch. Well crafted, balanced, and enjoyable. Think of the drinks as the first puzzle you solve successfully. Confidence is high at this point. Then the food arrives, and this is where the escape attempt starts to fall apart. We began with the bruschetta, which was absolutely dominated by balsamic. Not gently accented. Not thoughtfully drizzled. This was a full-scale balsamic ambush that completely overwhelmed the dish. Puzzle one failed. Next came the octopus. Perfectly cooked. Tender. Juicy. Textbook execution. Unfortunately, the flavor was nowhere to be found. Every bite was completely hijacked by the beans in the dish, leaving the octopus feeling like a background prop in its own plate. Puzzle two failed, morale dropping. Then came the calamari and mussels. Once again, the seafood was cooked properly, but flavor had clearly escaped through a hidden exit. Bland, forgettable, and confusing in how something prepared this well could taste like so little. Puzzle three failed, clock ticking. The fourth dish was the caprese salad, which somehow managed to swing in the opposite direction of the bruschetta. The tomatoes tasted like they were fresh from a grocery store shelf. The balsamic barely showed up this time, as if it had used up all its energy earlier. The mozzarella sat there watery and bland, contributing nothing and offering no clues. Final puzzle failed. Escape attempt unsuccessful. By the end of the meal, I felt like I had just spent two hours in an escape room where everything looked incredible, the staff was friendly, the room design was flawless, but none of the puzzles worked and you never actually escaped. Overall, Escape Rooftop Bar delivers breathtaking views, excellent service, and strong drinks. But the food turns the entire experience into a beautifully designed trap. When expectations are sky high and the kitchen cannot deliver, the disappointment hits harder. Two stars, awarded for the scenery, the cocktails, and the hope that one day the food finds the exit.

This was such a beautiful night. I had a healthcare networking event with The Sum of Five and this was the perfect venue. The views are stunning! The wine, a Cabernet, was very enjoyable and I really enjoyed this place I just wish it were open a bit later. Thank you for such a great event experience and I can't wait to go back!

This is one of my favorite spots in Fort Lauderdale. It's a rooftop with a great view of the Intracoastal, the Ocean and downtown. There's no minimum to spend like other places and it has a very casual but upscale vibe. It's located behind the Shorebreak hotel, so you have to come into the hotel lobby, walk through their main restaurant, out to the pool area and then get on the elevator to the Escape Rooftop bar. A bit confusing for those who are not familiar. They have daily specials as well as Happy hour specials. The Bar has serving area with several tables located close to the pool....then there are a few more private tables overlooking the water. Great vibe, great service. Prices are a bit high due to the ambiance and location, but not terrible. I have had a few things and I loved their Arancini, their calamari and mussels tapas plate. Their pizza was just average, it needed to be more well done. Overall a great spot for a nice romantic date or a special night.

The views from the Escape Rooftop Bar are spectacular. There is lots of great seating. We really enjoyed the food and drinks. Happy hour starts 30 minute before sunset and ends 30 minutes after sunset. We had excellent service. This is such a great place to hang out. I highly recommend it and will be returning.

So we just left this place. I honestly don't want to knock it. Very cute venue! Beautiful view! Romantic. Great vibe. Great music. Seating areas are just adorable. Now comes the "but." Cocktails were good but pricey for the size. The caprese salad was good also. We put in the order for the food at the same time. And so we waited..... and waited.....anddd waited.... One of the servers asked if our food had come out, we said no. Waited some more. They apologized and gave us 2 complimentary cocktails. When the food eventually came out, I promise I've never seen entrees so small in my life. If you make a circle with your forefingers and thumbs...... that's how big my meal was. I had the scallops and they were delicious but I told my husband "damn, I'm gonna need Taco Bell on the way home!" He had the short rib risotto which came in 4 meatballs which were also delicious! But $150 later and we are headed for beer and sliders at the pub!

Love this rooftop bar in Fort Lauderdale, got to stay at the hotel this time around so was here during the day But the views at sunset are the total vibes Drinks are a little spendy and the food is just okay- limited menu Staff are super nice but you're paying for the amazing view!!

A little confusing to find the place. When you reach the floor, someone has to open the door from inside and the signs are not very clearly marked in the elevator. But once you reach, the view are just amazing. Very trendy atmosphere. Drinks are expensive, but you pay for the views. The place is relatively new so check out before the word goes out.

I was a little hesitant to come here for a date night but I am so glad I did! We hadn't heard of the rooftop before but it's exactly what my husband and I were looking for. A place with a great view, chill, private, quiet and with amazing food and drinks. Our server gave us great recommendations based on what we each liked. The pineapple drink was amazing and refreshing. My husband's drink, the cucumber and basil was also great but a little too strong for me. Our favorite dish was the salad, the pears and Gorgonzola cheese were amazing. All the flavors combined perfectly. The pizza was also very good, I loved how great the fig tasted with the pesto. The arancini was also very yummy, the red sauce tied it all together. Lastly the tiramisu was huge! Definitely recommend sharing it, my husband and I couldn't even finish it. We loved coming here and look forward to coming back.

Food was awesome. The risotto with the osobuko was delicious and tasty. Javier our waitress was very attentive and super friendly. He along with Kate took care of us in a very special way. We will come back soon and often.

Drinks are excellent (but pricey) and the views are amazing. Nice bar manager as well. The only thing is....you have to get there THROUGH The Shorebreak Hotel. So map/google that...walk through the lobby, through the restaurant, past the pool, and the elevator for the roof is back behind the hotel pool.

We were visiting on a long road trip and this was our first time here. The crew/team here goes out of their way to make sure yo are taken care of with amazing drinks, cocktails and the food is also amazing here. Vanessa and Jorge made us feel at home every day and their service was excellent. We actually decided on two separate days to just hang out by the rooftop pool ALL day and drink and eat there instead of venturing out and it was so nice. Great people work here and the view is incredible. We are already planning our return!

The ambiance and pool on the rooftop is amazing. The view of the inter coastal is equal to any ocean view. Drink pours are fantastic! Bartenders are friendly and it seems like a hidden gem.

Party of four Thursday evening we had drinks and enjoyed the sunset the margaritas & wine were very good

She was assured they could. When her pasta arrived, she was told the dish contained mushrooms. After taking a closer look, those "mushrooms" turned out to be clams. Serving shellfish in a dish intended for a vegan is a serious mistake. I ordered the $36 lobster mac and cheese, which tasted like spiral pasta covered in Velveeta cheese sauce with a few pieces of lobster mixed in. It was bland, disappointing, and nowhere near worth the price. I took two bites and pushed it away. When we politely expressed our dissatisfaction with the food, the bartender's response was, "Well, just don't tip me then." Mistakes happen, but the combination of serving clams in a vegan dish, poor food quality, and an incredibly dismissive attitude made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time.
