Likely the worst meal I've had in years. I was dining with a vegan friend who specifically asked whether the restaurant could accommodate her dietary restrictions. She was assured they could. When her pasta arrived, she was told the dish contained mushrooms. After taking a closer look, those "mushrooms" turned out to be clams. Serving shellfish in a dish intended for a vegan is a serious mistake. I ordered the $36 lobster mac and cheese, which tasted like spiral pasta covered in Velveeta cheese sauce with a few pieces of lobster mixed in. It was bland, disappointing, and nowhere near worth the price. I took two bites and pushed it away. When we politely expressed our dissatisfaction with the food, the bartender's response was, "Well, just don't tip me then." Mistakes happen, but the combination of serving clams in a vegan dish, poor food quality, and an incredibly dismissive attitude made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. I opted for white wine sauce and overall it was tasty. It could've used a bit more seasoning but the food and drinks overall were okay. I did love that we could sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I have been here twice this past month with different guests, and this place doesn't disappoint. Located across the street from the beach, the location is prime. It is in super touristy Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd and next door to very loud casual restaurants with hostesses trying to get you to go to their restsurant, so next door is a bit low rent, but the Beach House ambiance is several notches above. A modern look with tables indoor and outdoor on the patio. The bar is indoor and behind it is a giant screen with football on. The music was just loud enough and the acoustic so good it drowns out the insanely loud music from the places next door AND you can still carry a conversation. The food is really good. We had the flatbread which was delicious. But five stars go to the branzino with champagne risotto and the grouper imperial. They were fantastic, if pricey. Mixology was excellent. Tip on Percentage or Service? Has Tipping Gotten Out of Hand? My wife and I came in for lunch and had a great experience. We shared a meal, had one alcoholic drink, and received excellent service in a great atmosphere. The following day, my wife stopped by on her own for the same drink and asked for a table on the patio. She was seated quickly and ordered a margarita. She told the server she was only there for a drink. Before long, he informed her that his shift was ending and that Diego would be taking over. My wife even offered to close out her tab before he left, but he told her it wasn't necessary. After taking over, Diego refilled her water once. At that point, my wife asked for the check. The margarita bucket was approximately $25-30. She left a $2 tip. Diego then returned to the table and said, "Excuse me, but you only left me a 4% tip." My wife replied that she was aware. He then told her that the standard tip around there is 20%. She felt extremely uncomfortable and pressured. Diego was not the original server and had done little more than refill a glass of water. Regardless of the amount left, confronting a guest and attempting to guilt or pressure them into increasing a tip is unprofessional. As she was leaving, my wife mentioned the interaction to the hostess. Her response was, "Yeah, Diego is a jerk. He just got here." After hearing about the situation, I decided to give the restaurant another chance and see how management handled it. That evening, I requested Diego as our server. Instead, another gentleman came over. When I again asked for Diego, I was told no. The person who approached our table turned out to be the manager on duty. The manager proceeded to defend Diego's actions and stated that he would have done the same thing if someone left only $2 on a drink rather than 20% of the total bill. My wife and I ordered only water. Since the bill was $0, I left a $1 tip. By percentage, that's technically an 100% tip. The point was simple: tips are supposed to reflect service, not be mandatory fees enforced through pressure and confrontation. This review isn't about whether someone should tip 20%. It's about professionalism. No guest should be made to feel uncomfortable or pressured into leaving a larger tip, especially over a single drink. Management's decision to defend that behavior rather than address it was even more disappointing than the original interaction. read more

Both times I received excellent service and was able to bring my little dog both times and felt extremely cared for. Both visits I came for brunch and the food has been consistently good. I had the eggs Benedict and then the breakfast sandwich with avocado (definitely recommend to add the avocado) I would really like to come back for happy hour or dinner as I have visited their location in pompano and the food at dinner is really where they shine. I'm so thankful we walked a little further and found this gem. It's a much more modern decor- giving Cali vibes . It also was a lot cleaner than the other restaurants we passed . We were immediately sat down and offered water/ menus. Our server was also the bartender, but she was great! I loved the location bc it was perfect for people watching, while also admiring the beautiful ocean in the background. Inside the restaurant, there was a humongous tv playing fish which actually was beautiful . I've read they play sports games on there during the day so I'm sure it's perfect to watch some games in the afternoon/evening. I ordered the avocado toast which was hands down amazing. It tasted so good, and I cleaned my plate. They also have a $30 endless mimosa deal which is great because if you plan on having more than 1 , it just makes sense to do the endless version. On the Fort Lauderdale strip and after hours of bar hopping we were wanting to grab some food to end the night. The gigantic movie screen sized monitor playing basketball at the rear of the restaurant/bar caught my eye as we walked by. A few people laughing at the large bar overlooking the now late night darkened beach showed some possibilities. We entered the open front patio and cheered the DJ spinning tunes as my wife started dancing, then into the establishment and straight into the bathroom, which was clean but a disaster and under construction. Oddly, two sparkling new urinals affixed to the wall. The interior of the restaurant was super modern with red glowing lights behind the Beach House sign against the wall. Numerous untidy wires hanging from the ceiling near the stage where the basketball game was projecting. The perfectly sized menu looked promising with several tasty sounding entree options at reasonable prices like Grouper Imperial, Seafood Linguine, Fettuccine Alfredo, Jumbo Shrimp Dinner, Paneed Chicken, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and Fish & Chips. They also offered a few smaller bites like Fish Tacos, Ceasar Salad, Smash Burger and a Tropical Salad. Although, the menu provided some interesting possibilities, we were searching for a different vibe to end the night. Sadly, no consumption of food or drink at this location.
