If zero stars were possible, I would choose that. I have not even attended the event yet, and I am already alarmed by the customer service at the Mesa location. My phone call on July 4, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM with an employee named Danielle raised multiple red flags. I purchased a Groupon and paid the additional 7.92 required. Immediately afterward, I received a message stating my card would be charged 97.52. I called the Mesa location because this was a serious concern and needed clarification. From the start, Danielle's tone was not friendly and immediately made me feel as if I was bothering her. Her attitude shifted quickly into clear irritation, and it became obvious she did not want to deal with my questions. She offered almost no explanation for the 97.52 charge and showed no willingness to help me understand why the system displayed that amount. The more I tried to get clarity, the more her tone escalated into frustration and hostility. While asking simple questions about what I needed to bring or print, her frustration became even more obvious. When I calmly asked her not to speak to me with an attitude, she hung up on me. I called back, and she openly admitted she hung up with no apology, no concern, and no attempt to correct her behavior. The lack of accountability and disregard for basic customer service was a major red flag. I have been in customer service for 34 years and have never treated anyone the way I was treated today. Perhaps she was annoyed because she is tired of receiving calls about the billing, but that should motivate the company to immediately fix the incorrect and confusing message about how much money will be charged to a credit card. Ignoring a known issue and taking it out on customers is unacceptable. I will use my Groupon because it is already paid for, but after that, we will not return. There are plenty of escape rooms in the area that treat customers with respect and professionalism. This location made it clear they do not value either. If this is how they handle a simple phone call, I would not trust them with anything more serious. This interaction was a clear warning sign, and no business should expect repeat customers after an experience like this. read more

Underwhelming at best. Disappointing, overpriced, and an unpleasant/annoying experience at the realest level. And I had a Groupon, y'all. This is my second rage room. It just paled in comparison to Smashing one in Tempe. Worse though? If this had been the first one I went to? I'd never try another one. It's a tiny plywood room? You can't throw anything against the wall. We did a two person max in the room to minimize the claustrophobia. You get one small basket of pre-picked items to break. We spent maybe 15 minutes in the room trying to take our time, one at a time. We spent more time talking to the staff member than we did breaking anything. Long repetitive rule lectures. Off-putting questions about if we had anger issues and anecdotes about therapist referrals and parents using these as last resorts for angry young boys. Just a weirdly judgmental attitude about rage rooms in general. After we finished, the staff member said "rage rooms are just interesting... it really takes a certain kind of person, you know?"...uhhh, like us? Lol yikes. Buyer beware. read more

We booked Candyland during the holiday week so that my 6yo could experience a fun and memorable family adventure with us. Groupon made the pricing extremely reasonable. We were amazed the moment we walked into United Escapes of America Mesa. This specific property is the largest escape room facility in the world! They have 16 different themed rooms within this 4 story mansion. We read a little bit about its history about how it was once a covenant, a school and even a zoo! Our cluemaster was Grace and she was incredibly hospitable, supportive and helpful! The escape room Candyland and all its clues/puzzles were extremely fun and entertaining. We were amazed with all the unique and whimsical props and technicalities that went into creating this escape room. We did escape with 9:21 to spare thanks to our clue-master Grace and her hints! 100/10, we can't wait to try out another one of their rooms! We were told the zoo escape room was pretty fun so it's next on the list! read more

This is truly fun for all ages! I was looking for something fun for my family to do on a Saturday night, and I'm so happy I ran across this place. I booked the "captains Quarters" escape room, as well as a splatter room. We did them back to back. The splatter room was 30 minutes, and the escape room was an hour. I loved that in the splatter room there's a Bluetooth speaker so you can listen to your own music. About halfway through we were asked if we wanted to turn the lights out and it was super cool and fun. You get a canvas to take home too. The escape room we did was the captain quarters. Kelly was a game master and she was absolutely amazing! It's interactive, it's fun, and you can get clues if you need some assistance. We were able to escape with time to spare. At the completion of the escape room, we all got bracelets. This is an old converted mansion in each room is different. They have more rooms in the basement. My family of 4 ranges from ages 13 to 66 and we all had a fantastic time and want to come back and try other escape rooms. read more

Took my kids to the Candy land room here. It was really fun. Kelly our game host was awesome. Made my kids feel very welcome. My kids are 11, 8 and 5 and the room was perfectly suitable for them all. My youngest was able to use the locks and understand the puzzles (with little help from me). We'll for sure be going back. read more

For most of my group, this wasn't our first rodeo... Coming into the challenge we were amped and ready to cement our victory... The complete opposite happen... #FAIL... Yeah, we needed about 1 more minute. All I will say is "dang puzzle"!!! Bottomline, we had a lot of fun working together. Most places usually have 2 or 3 rooms, but this one had a bunch of rooms as we were escorted out of the main building into an adjacent building for our challenge. We did the "Lost Dutchman" and while reading another person's review, I can definitely say we had to request a lot more clues than expected. The clues seemed intentionally misleading and not well designed in the room we were in (Steampunk), but I'd still recommend them over most places we've been. Visiting family in Arizona and our nephew wanted to try something fun for his spring break, so we settled on an escape room. We have been to this establishment before and enjoyed our experience so decided to call and see what they had available. The lady on the phone was super helpful and gave me quite a few options as well as helped me find a discount for the room we wanted. They do have quite a few rooms and after looking at their website I think they have some thing for everyone's taste. We settled on the steam punk room as that was my nephews favorite and we all like time travel. After arriving and getting paperwork completed we were given a story and lead to the room. Once we entered it was obvious they would put a lot of work into this particular room. We really enjoyed the decorations the additional items and some of the fun explanations they had as part of the overall experience. Sadly we did not get out of our room as it was quite challenging, but we did have a fun time. The hints were helpful but we still had issues so maybe bring more people to make sure you complete the task. We highly recommend this group and their rooms for a fun experience! read more

Unfortunately, the fact that it was an old house meant that it doesn't have elevators or ramps, which posed a slight challenge for one of the members of our party. The room itself was decent. I typically love Escape Rooms. However, we would never go back to this one. The staff was so rude and treated us terribly!! One of our group members was unaware that there was a no picture rule and they took a selfie together because it was the first time they've seen each other in years. The manager came down and screamed at us to leave. He said that pictures can spoil the clues, which makes sense but the picture had no clues or even any of the escape room in it, it was just a selfie. The guest even offered to delete it and show him, but we were told to "get the **** out". He made her cry. We would never ever come back!! read more

This is one of my favorite go-to spots for Escape rooms! They have so many different rooms to choose from with all difficulty levels. They also rotate and add new rooms to play as well. I love that they have an escape game room for kids. We brought my nieces to play & they had such a fun time. I just wish that they added 1 or 2 new rooms for younger kids! If you come here on your birthday, they give you a birthday bracelet that also grants you an extra clue. You receive a bracelet for every game you win, and if you bring those bracelets back for future games, you get an extra clue for every bracelet you bring with! read more

I've heard of escape rooms many many times before but never had the courage to try any because I am claustrophobic. Just the thought of being locked in a room was making me very nervous but my sister in law insisted it doesn't feel like we're locked in at all and it was so much fun to try. So I finally agreed and tried it with the family today. When I checked in on Yelp, we got a free clue! How cool. We were given all the instructions prior to entering the room; that included watching a short video. We were also told that we could remove our masks inside the room. We were ushered to our room and the fun started. We had kids with us so we chose an easy-medium difficulty room. The clues were appearing on the tv screen and we asked for 3 out of the total of 4 clues we had after I checked in. We were able to escape the room with over 5 minutes left. This was a very cool experience. My claustrophobia was non-existent; I was too busy playing and trying to figure out the clues with the rest of our "team". So glad I ended up going and I am so looking forward to trying a more difficult escape room next time. This was so much fun, you have to try it if you haven't already! read more

I never done this type of stuff before. So coming here I didn't know what to expect. Basically the overview of the game is you have an hour to try to escape the room using various clues. We picked the Captain's Quarter and there was this deal on Groupon I used. $65 for 4 people not bad! Captain's Quarter has a story line that takes place in a ship. Our room was considered the medium level room so I like the system they set up for the room. We have the ability to use 3 clues and 2 clues given for free. You have to know how to use a combination lock because there is a lot of them! One lock leads to another lock. We end up using 2 clues out of 3 we get but we technically didn't need to use the 2nd clue. We finished our room with 11 mins left. So not to bad for our first room! Staff was friendly and nice. They gave us a 20% discount if we wanted to do a harder room. But we didn't take it. It's definitely fun team building activity. I would recommend people to do this if there is nothing else to do and if you want to "escape" the Arizona heat! read more

Probably one of the best escape rooms I've ever been to and with the Groupon, we received such a great discount. Special effects were amazing and there was plenty of space for our party of 8! We did The Terminal and had so much fun! We finished with 8:17 left! Yay! The only reason I took a star away, is because while we were all talking excitedly and going over our experience, the employee there kept mentioning that he accepted tips and that he also had Venmo. I was too busy talking that I didn't hear, but my niece said he bellowed it out 3 different times. I work in a tipping industry and I work hard for the extra few dollars I get after servicing someone for an hour to two hours. I feel it so inappropriate to get paid a regular wage and then leave out tip jars or ask for them, making people feel "obligated" to give them. Most people don't know this, but when tips are customary, employees receive less than the regular state wage. It's usually about $2 less an hour. Now we're expected to tip regular wage employees who don't even provide services?? Why do employees have their hand out for EVERY industry now? Very frustrating. read more

Check-in online was easy, and I thought prices were reasonable. I liked that they had kid-friendly rooms as mine were a little frightened of some of the other options. A little creepy and kinda hard even with 6 of us in there. I loved the dynamics and time put into each puzzle. Captains Quarters was nice for 2 people. Still challenging for people not great with puzzles. We had a blast! I did Hansel and Gretel and WOW defiantly one of my favories. the creativity put into this was astonishing. First time doing an escape room so it was a little confusing at first. We didn't know what kind of puzzles to expect and were a bit lost but once we got rolling we did pretty good! It's a lot more fun than I expected. Definitely hurts your brain sometimes but getting a lock undone is super satisfying. We did Lilliths lair and it was a ton of fun. Again, never did one and didn't know what to expect, so we got confused when it came to a candle puzzle and something involving a book on a shelf. We almost won but I didn't want to break anything and winning involved doing something that felt like I was going to break a prop. You can ask for clues if you're super lost and they will provide one on a monitor for you. I will definitely do this again. Had a blast. read more

Had a great time! I was looking for something to do one Friday night and had always wanted to try an escape room. I booked the dollhouse room online. It was seamless and they did a good job introducing my friend and I to how it worked. Yes, we got clues quite frequently even when we didn't ask for them but they kept us on track time-wise. There was one puzzle in it that, to this day, I have no idea how anyone could solve without help. It also required multiple intelligence types which made it more fun - I'm a riddle thinker and my friend is a math brain, so we both were needed to solve different puzzles. I had so much fun I brought the kids down to do the Candyland room the next night. That one was a little harder to coordinate because we had so many bodies in the room (4 kids). A couple were left out a bunch because clues were on cards and a kiddo would often bogart the card or prop. But, there were several where I was able to get them all working together and involved. And, the end was pretty awesome- all kids left with a smile. I plan to return and do some of the harder ones. A lot of fun, but pricey. read more
