We even had room to include her friend from school and her parents. Smoking deal on Groupon. Very bad experience. We paid close to $500 for the experience along with the party package and the staff was incredibly rude and treated our teens with disrespect. I couldn't believe it. The room clues were nonsensical and never told us at the end what we missed. Everything was dirty and will never ever come back. I can't believe these people are still in business. read more

Fun and exciting escape rooms! We did the Carn-evil and had a blast trying to escape with all the puzzles and clues. We experienced the Candyland Eacape Room and it was incredible! So much fun and unexpectedly beautiful and quite challenging. The kids couldn't stop talking about it and wanted to go back immediately. Since then, they continually ask to go. We are definitely planning on returning with people that couldn't make it the first time and can't wait to see what all the excitement is about! We've done 3 different rooms at Escape Rooms Mesa. Great experience every time! We especially enjoyed Steampunk and Outbreak! They put so much effort into their rooms. You truly felt the experience. These rooms are not just lock and key. Great puzzles, and a decent amount of tech. So many other escape houses could learn a thing or two from this place. Worth every penny! So my family and I love escape rooms and do them somewhat frequently, buying out the entire room usually. We've done many rooms at escape rooms mesa and they've been fantastic experiences even with those where we didn't escape. I wish I could say the some for our experience today. We booked the Steampunk Room and we were so excited. We were told we could ask for an additional 10 minutes for $10 if we thought we needed more time so we though ok if we get in trouble we'll do it. So here are our complaints; we asked to do the 10 minutes extra but were told that unfortunately we couldn't do it because we arrived late. Now granted, we did arrive 3 minutes late but our "host" knew this when she offered the additional time and so that's pretty janky. Then we found out that the one part we couldn't get past was actually not working! We had the codes correct but she actually told us that sometimes it's a little hard to get to work so you just gotta jiggle the different pieces but when she "showed" us how, she couldn't get it to work either. We also had a directional lock that we kept using the correct combination on and it didn't want to work either until finally it just did. These rooms are not inexpensive and quite honestly for what we pay I expect to have all of the parts in working order. Also, if you offer something as an option, I expect you to honor that option instead of changing your mind when we ask to take you up on the offer. So, I won't give you a terrible review overall but this experience was not a good one and I hope next time it's better. read more

I have been to escape games twice now. We have escaped 3x. This is perfect to do with family, friends, coworkers. Recently we went for an employee event. It was so much fun we did a second room right after! We really enjoyed Laura's enthusiasm while explaining the background of both rooms. We will be returning. read more

The facility is clean and looks nice on the inside, which boosts up the score a bit. This review is for the mad hatter's tea room --I would say it was only "ok". If I was judging solely on the room, I probably would give it 2/5 stars. After doing many different escape rooms at similar price points, I was a little disappointed with this one. There was little variation in the clues and a lot of reliance on locks. I was hoping for more creativity, but locks get old after maybe the fourth one. The decor was minimal and the room was pretty small, but fits up to 10 people. With 10 people, it was a bit tight. read more

This place is absolutely amazing and worth the price! Our group of 8 had 60 minutes to escape the Mad Hatter Tea Party room. The theme of the room was well done with Alice in wonderland decor all over. Multiple challenges to work through as a team to uncover clues and escape the room! You have the option to ask for clues which is very helpful! Be careful and use your time wisely because it goes fast! Our game master was energetic and in costume, he fit the part well! My husband and I took my youngest sister and brother-in-law. Our choice was Roswell 1947. Have not done a hard difficulty before. This room is scheduled to be closed shortly and a new escape adventure will come on line. It was tough because, I swear, you needed a math degree to figure out the clues. The employees are the rudest and most aggressive people I have ever encountered at any establishment. Played the Steampunk room with fabulous decor, but the experience was COMPLETELY ruined by the staff/game master who insulted us during the game after making us sit in an outdoor courtyard full of mosquitos to wait for our game. We were very excited to do this as we'd been wanting to try one. The particular room we chose - (all locks & combination of numbers), you were just sent in there and there was no first step instructions. You just started looking around the room to see what looked like a clue of some kind. I felt we had too many people in the size of this room. I heard from others that some rooms give you a starting point and then from "station 1" you go to "station 2". Maybe its me, but I would have preferred something a bit more organized. Did this with my family for my birthday. The first ten minutes were kind of touch and go. I was feeling like "this is dumb" but after we got the first box open, it was non stop thinking and fun. We finished with 5 seconds left. The guy gave us clues when he saw us struggling without taking our three free clues or deducting 2 min which was nice. Overall good experience. I have to say that the owners of this escape room truly have a passion for the craft. The Steampunk room is outstanding in quality, design, puzzles and authenticity. This escape room is in my top 5 of all the Escape rooms I've done (28). I wish I could do it again, it was that enjoyable. It had a story line, and the puzzles had a domino affect, in the sense that you did something at one part in the room and a certain affect would occur somewhere else in the room. The design of the room was outstanding. I did one over a year ago when they first opened and I must say they have come a long way with the Steampunk room. It's fantastic, and I highly recommend it. It's very hard, in fact I didn't escape in time, but that's how much I enjoyed the room itself. This is a must do room in Phoenix, the Steampunk room that is. Next we will try Rob the Bookie! The Escape Room Mesa was a great family activity. We went to this escape room with myself, my wife, my mother in law, and my two daughters (11, 14). This facility had 14 rooms and we chose the Steampunk room which was time machine theme. This room was a medium difficulty and was difficult to complete, but very fair. The room was well maintained and the clues made sense. We've been in some rooms at other locations where a person was in the room with you and had to explain the clues to you. This wasn't the case in this room. The game master was watching and only gave you hints when requested, which is how we like them to be. I would recommend this location to any escape room players and we will be going back for another game soon. read more

This was our first escape room in Mesa, and had some family in town looking for things to do. Decided on the Groupon rate and did the Captains Room. Our control master was Jack who was fantastic. We ended up making it out with about 10 mins to spare. Had such a good time that my family members walked too the car and jumped right online to try booking another room, unfortunately they were closed for the night. extremely rude owner. someone in our group broke something and then proceeded to report it to the camera saying they were sorry and then a worker came in and said it's okay everything is pretty worn down. Then once we finished the owner comes out and screams at us for breaking it and threatens to call the cops and slams the door in our face. I've been multiple times and never had a problem with customer service until now. All the rooms are pretty boring as well, I've done a handful and they are not entertaining and definitely not worth being treated this way. read more

We've done 3 rooms here. Staff is great. 2 of the 3 rooms were just a large, single room with different puzzles/clues inside. The 3rd room we did is their new one for Halloween called CarnEvil and it had more than one room connected to it. It was creepy, but not too scary that you couldn't solve the clues. Medium difficulty, we were able to escape but we did use the 3 clues/tips from the staff. Will definitely keep coming back to this spot whenever they introduce new rooms. Entrance is a little tricky, when you park, you have to walk around the building to get to the entrance by the road. read more

For a group of middle school girls that's saying something. The girls had a blast, clues were very helpful, and the employees were friendly and attentive. There's a courtyard available as a gathering space as well. The room we were in (Alice in Wonderland) did feel a little small, but not surprising considering the age of the building. We went here last night and did Captains Quarters. Ive done escape rooms at other locations that were not as hard and had more than 1 room to get out of. I was very disappointed that it was only 1 room. Someone here said unlimited clues.. not exactly true. After u get 3 free clues, they say they can charge you after that. We asked for 5 i THINK, they did not charge us extra but i guess they can. Also if you run out of time they charge $10 for an extra 10 minutes. read more
