    My group!
    Kathy M.

Lance was our game master and we did the jurassic escape room. This room was a medium level in terms of difficulty. This is my 3rd time here and I have one more room to go. Each time, my group and I have so much fun! Parking is tough on a weekend, but if you manage to get parking and leave yourself some room to travel from the parking lot to the venue, youre good to go. There is a jump scare, so beware. Side note, if you want a private game, you have to purchase all slots. Otherwise, you will be partnered with another group like we did this time. Also, I suggest bring a fan of some sort, it gets warm inside.

Ask the Community - Escape the Room

    Are there any animatronics?

I've done two so far. South Park at this location (Glendale, ca) and the Theater one in St.louis, mo. The theater one had puppets/marrianettes, and they do move. I haven't seen the others. I'm about to do the clock tower soon.

We are booking a room for 6 people but I see the room has enough space for 10. Is there a chance that there will be other people we don't know in our group?

Yes. If the room has a max of 10 people, and your group has less than 10 people, there will be a chance that you'll be grouped with people you don't know, unless there aren't enough people to sign up for the same game, or if you purchase tickets for…

When will the Glendale location open?

    They're open now :)

Great escape room if you're a woman who loves losing bodily autonomy!…read more My two friends and I (all female) recently did the Magic Kingdom room at Maze Rooms LA on Vermont. Before we started, the one person working offered an option to have surprise, intermittent visits from a character named "Steve the extra-terrestrial" (AKA that same game master wearing an alien mask). This option was a sort of expansion pack on the standard room, with Steve being described in vague terms as "a helper and a hinderer" i.e. he may help you get to the next step or he may make it more difficult for you to do so. We assumed this meant adjusting certain room elements or leading us to/from specific clues, thought it sounded like a fun challenge and accepted the Steve option. We did NOT realize this meant Steve would TICKLE US. ALL OF US. MULTIPLE TIMES. It is so wildly unacceptable to be repeatedly and unwelcomely touched, especially in this context. We had to stop midway to lecture this man about consent. He rounded out the evening with some sexual comments (which it seems were encouraged by the owner to be shared with every group) that made us all wildly uncomfortable and we left feeling icky, regretful and drained. Beyond the unwanted touching, the room itself needs maintenance; a few key items were broken or malfunctioning, and they had to do a full tech reset on the room halfway through. TL;DR: Take your money elsewhere unless you love getting tickled by strangers. And if you do come here, DO NOT DO THE STEVE OPTION.

They're located right on Western Ave, on the corner of a side street. The building is easy to spot with its orange and white exterior. Parking is also easy since they have their own private lot behind the building. After you park, walk around to the front corner, and ring the doorbell to gain entry. We arrived a little early, but were able to start right away. The adventure begins with a blood-spattered door before you even step inside. You are allowed to take pictures in the room and you can use your phones flashlight if needed. The room is a little dimly lit and helps set the mood. There are some good sound effects and a few jump scares, but it feels more creepy and spooky than scary. There is a good mix of combo locks, key locks, some unique mechanical puzzles, and a few dexterity puzzles. Everything worked fine, but the numbers on some of the combo locks were pretty worn. I ended up using the flashlight on my phone for those which helped a lot. This was definitely a fun room. We escaped with about eight minutes left and only needed a few nudges. Solving one of the puzzles near the end gives you a nice little personalized keepsake. They rate this room as medium difficultly which I would agree with. Our game master Kim was great. She was very friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with her before and after the room. Their rooms are a little pricey for only two people at $62.50 per person, but the price drops with the more people you bring. They have a same day booking discount, and you also can save $10 if you book seven or more days in advance.

They did such a fantastic job making it feel like you were on the set of a horror movie, the decor and props gave off a "Saw" vibe. Depending on what your fears are, this room might test them a little. The room starts off very dark, and at one point you are even in complete darkness. There will also be flashing lights, and a need to crawl through a tight space. There were plenty of puzzles for everyone in the group to work on, no one was left out which made everyone happy. We were able to complete the room with plenty of time to spare and had a great time figuring everything out. We would 100% come back to check out one of their other rooms at this location and check out some of the other themed rooms at their other locations as well. This is a great group activity whether you are with a group of friends, family or even co-workers. All of the props and puzzles in the room worked perfectly and we didn't run into any issues. Our game host was great, and they had a comfortable waiting area for when you are waiting for your room.

We did Cannibal's Den and the initial part of the room was pretty fun. One reason for my low rating was one of the puzzles had a wire and fan of some sort and my friend sliced his finger trying to solve this puzzle on the exposed wire and was bleeding. For the last part of the room our entire group solved the puzzle but the game master did not notice and didn't initiate one of the prompts. We couldn't figure out if we were missing the clue and wasted a ton of time. Every time we asked for a clue, it took a while for the game master to respond as I think she was trying to figure out what was going on. We had an inkling maybe she wasn't really watching our game. This caused us to run out of time and despite multiple clues, it took us holding up the lock and saying we already found the clue! It really took us out of the experience. Lastly, I phoned Quest Room the following day to share our experience and asked if we could perhaps get a discount on our next room while we were still in town since we wanted to give Quest Room another chance. The person over the phone seemed annoyed, blamed our group for being too large, and was confused as to why we would want a discount and said we can send an email. I wasn't happy with the service recovery, especially since we were willing to give this place a second try.
