Stash House exceeded my expectations. I've had my eye on this room since pre-COVID and I finally had the opportunity to play it. Its location was a bit inconspicuous and it played its part in the storyline, especially at night. The hint system worked perfectly for the theme. It never felt like an actual hint. The puzzles were fun, well thought out, and very direct. There some fun surprises as well! Pham was our host and he was awesome. It's always great talking about escape rooms with other ER fanatics.

this is the after photo. nope, didn't really technically solved it.

Where do i even begin??? First off, communications ---- perfect! super simple process you go to their website, choose a time and pay; that's all there is. i had a bigger group and there were changes and they were soooo accomodating! It is street parking so its best to be early just to be sure. there wasn't any sign out front so we assumed it was the black door that looks different from the other stores, so yes, it was that. it was my first time and boy i picked a hard one but it really worked out my brain! the more the merrier! it took us forever to solve the puzzles so divide & conquer is the best tactic ever. Must try if you ask me. Can't really say much without giving it away.

Instead, there was no game master. He (Steve) didn't show up until 8:30 PM, and the group before us took 2 hours and didn't finish until 8:40 PM because, according to him, they let teams keep playing until they escape--even if they go well over their one-hour reservation. The game master then tried to blame our few-minute delay for the situation, which was ridiculous. Even if we had arrived exactly at 8:00, our room still wouldn't have been ready until around 9:00 PM--the time our game was supposed to end. We've completed 60+ escape rooms, and we've never experienced anything like this. What made the experience even worse was the terrible customer service. Instead of taking accountability for their scheduling failures, the staff acted like this was normal and didn't want to issue a refund, despite being unable to provide the experience we paid for. The complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers' time made this by far the worst escape room experience we've ever had.

Getting inside the building was interesting; turns out, there is a puzzle to solve! Once inside, we sat down, waited for the rest of our friends then signed the waiver. Thankfully, they did have a bathroom we could use ahead of time. Once we got our initial instructions from the staff member, we went into a room and received more instructions on a screen. The basement is a very immersive room, the cast member who was part of it did an amazing job! I'm so sad I can't remember her name, she truly was a delight! She even reassured me at the beginning when I was freaking out. We managed to escape with about 6 minutes left, I wish I had taken exact note of how much time. We took a celebratory picture and then I got some merch, a t shirt saying I escape the basement and one of the enamel pins. Me and my friends came to celebrate a birthday and I think we will be back in November for another friend's birthday to do the next room! I'm gonna buy a new enamel pin each time we win, I think. Definitely looking forward to coming back! Couple tips: come in one car, the lot is very small and there was only one spot left when we got there and our friends had to park farther away. For the celebratory picture, make sure to look at the right spot and fix your hair beforehand lol. Lastly, bring cash to tip the staff members! They deserve it for being so awesome! Oh, and be kind to them, I shouldn't have to say this, but I will. They are fellow humans playing characters.

We did the basement. This is the first time we've ever done an escape room so I had no idea what to escape. I don't wanna spoil too much BUT this was absolutely one of the best times I've ever had. The actors were so helpful and so funny. We didn't successfully pass, but we were very close!!!!!!. We had a group of two. When that room holds up to 10. Soooooo we did our best hahhaahaha . It's very interactive at some points, We had to crawl through spaces, walk through trap doors and we did get our hands dirty. We were Using flashlights to get around. It was SUPER interactive. I had a blast!!!! Will definitely come here again!!!!! Do wear comfy clothes. We were sweating!!!! Closed shoes recommended. And always pay attention to small details. Everything is a clueeee!!!!! Whether you are new to escape rooms or you…read morehave done more than your fingers can count, you NEED to check out this particular location!! Even though 'Maze Rooms' has several locations, they have different owners so you won't get the same vibe from all of them. This particular one along with West LA/Santa Monica Blvd location have the same owners. I called on a weekend and Curtis happened to answer the phone. He was so patient with my questions and you can tell he loves escape rooms and wants to create the best experience for everyone. He designs these rooms and really adds a lot of detail that you don't see with some other companies. After picking his brain, we ended up choosing "They're Coming" and it is the most difficult room at this location. Don't let that scare you, you can ask for clues and really tailor it to your own level so that it's fun for everyone. We've done just over 50 escape rooms so we try to ask for as few clues as possible. So let's talk about the experience. We showed up and we were greeted by Brooke who was our game master. She was awesome! She made sure to answer our questions before we got started and didn't rush us at all. She definitely set the stage for a great time and even told us about the leaderboards they have posted. We didn't make the top list but we'll be back! Once we got into the room it was instantly engaging. We did hit a tough spot and had to ask for a couple clues and also realized that we didn't plug something in all the way so that ate up some time but we still made it out with time left. One of the things I liked about this room was that it was more of a story line, not just a theme. You're literally moving along the story as you go as opposed to just hearing a story before you go in a room that basically tells you what the goal is and the whole room just fits a theme like pirates or zombies or western. For some of you this may not make sense but trust me, not all escapes rooms are created equal. The puzzles were very creative and they all made sense. This room flowed really well, much better than I thought it would. There wasn't one puzzle that I didn't like and there was a lot of attention to detail. It wasn't a really dark room and there wasn't anything crazy scary but some kids may not like some of the props or a couple interactions. Just keep in mind it is a zombie apocalypse story. They have other options if you think this might not fit what you're looking for. So once we got done, Olivia also helped us out and she had the same positive vibe as Brooke. Overall, this is one of the best escape rooms I've been to. A few bonuses - If you missed it, there is currently (6/27/25) a Yelp promo code. They already have great prices compared to some others. Your room is private so you don't have to share with strangers. Parking was not difficult and we went on a Saturday evening. You can tip using Venmo or Cash App, I believe, so you don't need cash. It's easy to book online. What more do you need?! Go book a room! I copied the basic info from their site to make it easier for anyone who is considering this room. The plot: "The undead have risen in the heart of Los Angeles, where your group decided to do a simple, fun escape room.
