Our friends decided to let loose at Axe Ventures LA! Plenty of parking and the place is super clean and organized. Jenna did an amazing job explaining to us the rules and how to throw axes! She helped us throughout with our technique and where to stand. It was a lot of fun especially when the other crazy axes came out and even saw blades! The variety of things you can chuck are amazing. The snack variety was A+ and the bathroom was also very clean. Overall, Jenna made our experience top notch and fun. We enjoyed ourselves a lot more than anticipated, highly recommend! read more

I am writing this review because they have a lot of sharp mulch in the range. One of the pieces I stepped on went through my shoe and into my heel. I had to go to the emergency room and I'm going to be on crutches for the next few weeks. Have to miss a half marathon that I've been looking forward to for a long time Multiple of my friends also got wood chips stuck in there shoes (they weren't punctured though). The worker said he had done this before, so clearly this is a problem and they need to address it. It's unacceptable. read more

AxeVentures in Los Angeles offers a thrilling axe-throwing experience for those looking to try something new. Location: AxeVentures is situated in an Office Depot plaza with plenty of parking right out front. This makes it convenient to find and access. Setup: Inside, they have merchandise and drinks available for purchase. The venue has multiple lanes for axe throwing, each equipped with wooden boards and a variety of axes to choose from (light-weight, heavy, fully metal, double-sided, etc.). Reservation & Check-In: I visited on a Saturday afternoon with a 1-hour reservation. They also seem to accept walk-ins. It's best to be on time for your reservation as they don't compensate for late arrivals or give you extra time. There were at most three parties present during my visit, which kept the atmosphere lively but not overcrowded. Instruction & Experience: Upon arrival, you are required to sign a waiver. Following this, an instructor explains the rules and demonstrates how to throw the axes safely and properly. Jax and Jenna, the instructors, were particularly helpful, offering tips and corrections throughout the session. However, there were some inconsistencies in the instructions provided. It's one thing for the instructors to be good at axe throwing, but it's not always easy to articulate it through words. Initially, I was given incorrect information about wrist positioning (to not break my wrist), which affected my throws. Later, I received tips to follow through with a circular motion of the hand and to break my wrist (never flattening). While I understand that everyone may have their own technique, it would have been better if the instructors prefaced that there might be different methods that work for different people. Key Tips for Axe Throwing: Release Technique: The way you let go of the axe significantly impacts its direction and rotation. It's all about how you let go of it. Wrist Positioning: Ensuring your wrist is positioned correctly affects whether the axe rotates in a flat plane. If it's not flat, it will hit the wooden board in angled positions. Therefore, it won't stick to the wooden board. Overall Impressions: AxeVentures is a fun and unique activity, offering a great way to try something new. While the instructors were helpful, a more consistent and clear communication strategy would enhance the experience. Despite some initial difficulties, it's an enjoyable activity that I would recommend to others. read more

First time we came here, I called before going and ask if we can come one hour before they close. They said yes. We showed up and they didn't let us in. This was after driving like 30 mins to get there smh. Again! I showed up Sunday 3:45 pm 5/11/25 after they had rejected me the first time and I got over it. Deven told me sorry we're only reservations for Mother's Day, after trying to bring my wife here for here Mother's Day. And nobody was there lol. Great place if this is your first time axe throwing like me. Despite having no coordination and a bad rotator cuff, I still enjoyed celebrating my friend's 40th birthday here. Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.

If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

My older son loved it so much that he is now becoming a Junior Leader, which says everything about how meaningful Cali Camp has been for him. My younger son, who is in 2nd grade, went for the first time last year and is already so excited to go back. What really stood out to me was how quickly they both adapted. My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. It has been such a special part of our family's life.

I recently stayed here for a conference, and everything screamed vintage but athletic club, too…read more The hotel room is VERY spacious, though it erred on the side of dark. As usual, water in the room costs money, and there are a few other products with hidden price tags in the room, too. Surprisingly, toothbrush and toothpaste was not provided. The water for showering also doesn't get too hot. In terms of the athletic space, the machines were very easy to access. There was never a wait even on weekend afternoons. The lap pool was my favorite part - clean and calm. There was some miscommunication between the lobby and the store, as one said there is no reservation system but there in fact was. But even when told all the lanes were fully reserved, more than half weren't in use. Parking is a bit of a hassle; for non-members it's definitely not worth it. At the time of visit, the parking machine wasn't working. There are also sperate elevators for parking vs the athletic club / hotel area which was a little confusing. The stair numbers also didn't coordinate the best with actual level.

This is the "Brandon Special" by Esther, not on the menu. I don't know what's in it but it's delish.
