This was my 2nd escape room. I was not expecting much as my past experience was less than poor. Boy as I surprised. The bunker was great. There were 5 of us and we all really liked it.d We plan on returning to do the other attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend going to Escape Woods.

In the spirit of Halloween, our escape room team (Team Bad Math), decided to take on The Cabin at Escape Woods in Powder Springs on October 30, 2016. Escape Woods is part of Sleepy Hollow Farms, which is a giant 60-acre property about 25 miles west of Atlanta. The farm itself was a good 34-minute drive from my home in Midtown. It's a hike. Once on the property, you have to drive a good bit on dirt roads to get to Escape Woods. At night, there's minimal to no street lighting which, as we drove in, really helped set the eerie mood ahead of time. Escape Woods has three outdoor escape room games: The Cabin, The Dig, and The Bunker. The Cabin is literally a cabin in the woods. The premise is it belongs to a future serial killer and you're trapped inside. You have one hour before the killer returns to make you his first victim. All the clues you need to escape the cabin are inside. What I like about this escape room compared to the others I've done (I've played 28 different rooms up to this point) is its realism. Not only do you have to drive to the sticks to a farm, but then you have to drive on a series of dirt roads to get to the entry point on the edge of the woods, then walk through the woods to the cabin itself. It's desolate and seriously out in the middle of nowhere. You're in an actual cabin and it's dirty. You're not in an air-conditioned office building in the city. I barely had any signal on my phone. Unlike other escape rooms where you get a nice briefing before the timer starts, at The Cabin, you are led into the cabin, the door slams shut, and you're bruskly told you have one hour. The cabin looks just like the type of place where a maniac would hole himself up and live. It's messy, dirty, and filled with all sorts of vile and disturbing stuff (not for kids). Of all the rooms I've done, I've never felt more overwhelmed with the amount of material and potential clues that this room contained -- books, notes, pages, scribblings, pictures, etc. It was a lot to take in and process. My main gripe with the room is there was too much material and "trash" that deterred from actual clue-finding. Then again, it did help with the realism of the environment and I give a lot of credit to the designers for the work they put in. It's realistic. If you're serious about escaping, you will have to get your hands dirty to search for clues, so be prepared. It was actually so filthy that afterwards, we were blowing dust and lint out of our noses. Gross. The Cabin regularly costs $31.64 per person ($28 + $3.64 tax per ticket), but I paid $31.50 for two people ($15.75 per person) thanks to my friend who bought a Groupon deal. I think she may have gotten additional discounts on top of the Groupon too. Here's a link to the deal page: https://www.groupon.com/deals/escape-woods. Hopefully, the deals will still be available if you decide to go. We brought a group of 8, which is the maximum number of people allowed for The Cabin. Due to the small size of the cabin, it did feel a little claustrophobic at times. In fact, I think it may have been easier to solve the room with less people for the simple fact that there would be less of a chance of someone inadvertently physically blocking a clue, which is kind of what happened to us. Despite all the dirt, dust, and grime, at least the restrooms are nice and clean. The staff was nice. In the end, we had a good time and have already talked about coming back to try The Dig and The Bunker.

Did THE BUNKER: AFERTMATH!! Loved it, first time ever. The drive in was a lil weird for City folk, thought we were in the wrong place. Passed a pig pen, a Christmas tree farm, and pumpkin patch. Looks shady but matches its name. The host was a lil spooky looking but cool and she did her creep resting face. Our first escape room, we didn't get out but we were told we found the most of any other group so I'll guess no one has yet to escape. They film some of the show "Stranger Things" here so that was excited as well. Looking to go back to escape THE CABIN: FUN HOUSE MASSACRE. This place is A must do!

This escape experience is outside. I took a group of 7. There were 4 adults and three kids ages 4, 8, and 11. We experienced the dragon maze escape. I can't remember the exact name of it but it was so amazing. We had so much fun. I loved it so much better than an inside escape room. This gave us nature, adventure and a tad bit of exercise. It was amazing. You must go here!!! The game was well put together and fun for everyone.

Our group made it thru before the Clown got us!!!

The Clown Terror: We had a blast being scared and all. This was live and upbeat from the start. It wasn't as scary as I thought but it was just enough for my bad-like heart & weak bladder, lol ... We had to work together to free the victim and we did it. Made it back up the hill with time to spare. I do recommend going with a group & trying the other Escape plans.

Long story short, buying 2 of his book counted as passes for a room.... and ended up saving us about $20. The actual game we paid was a blast. As a pair we were about to escape with a few minutes to spare. If I'm in the area, I will definitely retire. The books seem to be pretty good as well.

He understands and knows how to address new clients and their concerns; whether it'd be anxiety or the lack of understanding of how these games work. Due to his charismatic personality and his ability to communicate with others, Anthony definitely encourages and brings many loyal customers to Odyssey. After playing The Heist, I noticed that escaping the first room simply involved pressing a button. Since I had seen that mechanic before, I tried the same thing in Prison Break, and it worked. My cell door opened immediately, so I had to pretend it was still locked. I think there should be a more immersive way to escape the cell than having a green "exit" button within arm's reach of a prison cell. Cosmic Crisis was my favorite room by far. It was interactive, futuristic, and included some really fun elements like shooting spaceships. I don't want to spoil anything, but it was a great experience. Overall, I've had positive experiences with both the rooms and the employees. However, after playing Cosmic Crisis, we were told that if we booked another game that night, we would receive 20% off and be upgraded to a private game. We booked Prison Break for a future date and time based on that offer. Five minutes before our game, we received a phone call informing us that a group of three strangers would be joining our supposedly private room. I explained the situation and reminded them that we had been promised a private game. (Knowing the premise of the Prison Break room, fewer players actually make the experience more enjoyable because the game starts with people separated into two small cells, and the space can feel too small.) The employee said he would "talk to us" about the situation when we got there. He also rushed us to arrive exactly on time, saying the game would start with or without us and that the other group would begin anyways if we were late. Despite that, everyone ended up waiting 15 minutes because the room wasn't ready yet. We were rushed for no reason and still had to play with strangers. At the end of the game, the employee with glasses and light brown hair asked to speak with us. Unfortunately, he didn't offer any real solution. He simply said we could have a private room next time! The problem is that we had already played all the rooms we were interested in, so that offer has little value. When a business makes a mistake, the solution shouldn't be to promise to get it documented correctly for a next time, it should address the inconvenience that already occurred. Despite this issue, I still enjoyed the escape rooms themselves and had positive interactions with the rest of the staff overall. My frustration comes specifically from what was supposed to be our last, best game here. Luckily the strangers were very nice and did not take away from our experience, very blessed.
