I came to escapeworks on the recommendation of one of your employees who I happen to know through school. Lidet helped me choose what room would be best and we had so much fun on her recommendation! She's a rock star :) we did the flower shop room with only 4 of us and were able to escape with barely any time on the clock! We had so much fun and all the staff were pleasant and great at explaining the directions to the people in our group who had not done an escape room before. I have tried 3 different escape room locations around Denver now and escapeworks was my favorite of the 3. My experience with the place was very poor. We had trouble finding the establishment due to construction which had made us late to our time. We had called them to let them know about our later arrival. When we got to the place, it took about 5 minutes and phone call for them to open the door. The manager said that our time was not cut short due to our late arrival, but as soon as we walked into the room, the worker said that our time was started 10 minutes ago. After that, we still had to go over all the rules and objectives of the escape room. By the time that we got into the escape room, we had lost 15 minutes of time on the clock. The workers and manager were very unprofessional, saying that we were screaming and cussing at the workers and it would not be allowed in their "family friendly" establishment. In fact, we were not "screaming and cussing" we had just expressed our frustration with the fact that they started the time before we were even there. Due to the fact, I would not recommend the place and will not be back ever. read more

This was our first but not last time doing an escape room. Our party of four did the Egyptian Tomb and it was both challenging and fun. The clues were creative, the sets realistic, and the surprises many. The only negative thing was that the lighting was dim and I forgot to bring my reading glasses, but this did not stop us from having an amazing experience. Since I can't put "0" stars... Came to the Escape room August 26 for a birthday. We played in the War Games room. Impressed with the room it had a lot of fun decorations. We went through the game not smoothly but we figured out most of the puzzles. Sadly we ran out of time and didn't complete the task at hand. The front desk women asked if we wanted to know what went wrong. She proceeded to go through the steps to see what happened. She figured out that we had actually completely the final puzzle and we should have won. With disappointment we grabbed our stuff and left. We didn't get the satisfaction of winning and we were upset. We did receive an apology for the room not properly working. I went back upstairs to the front office and expressed my disappointment. They took my information at the desk and said I would hear back from a manager(s). Since then I haven't heard back from either of them. I've called twice... once on Tuesday night a front desk guy took down my information phone and email. He gave it to the manager and was supposed to email me. The front desk took down my email incorrectly so I didn't receive anything. Called the second time Friday... talked to a front desk girl- named Lulu ( I think) very helpful, she corrected my email address and said I would hear back from the manager very soon. Still nothing. So at this point I don't believe that this Escape Room doesn't care about my business at all. The room was fun and we were really looking forward to experiencing another room on the next birthday but that will not be happening. We will NOT be returning. I came here with my husband. I thought other people were signed up for our room because the website FAQ said their rooms were maxed at 12 people. But it turns out the Egyptian Tomb game is only for 8. So we were the only people. If I had known it was just going to be us when I booked a few hours earlier, I wouldn't have picked this room. I knew it was going to be bad from almost the beginning. There was almost no intro to our game. A game guide basically told us the storyline, which wasn't very interesting or immersive. The room was pretty bland, honestly. There were way too many red herrings in the rooms, and our game guide kept giving us hints for things we'd either already done or that didn't make sense. A lock on one of the doors wasn't working properly, and my husband doesn't even know how he finally got it open. I didn't have any fun. I would never recommend this place, and I wouldn't come back. I've done several escape games across the country, and this was one of the worst experiences I've had. read more
