My husband got a gift certificate for Christmas last year that we finally got to use! We had so much fun here, and escaped our room! The gift we got was for Aunt Carol's closet, which is a 45min room and technically meant for kids, but don't be fooled, it's tough! 2 adults and we had 10 minutes to spare after solving. We had only done 1 escape room before, so o was glad we started with something shorter, and on the easier side. Now that we've really done it, I feel more confident going to do another one! The space is really nice and they even have cool shirts you can by if you want to rep the business. Sutton helped get us set up with our room, and he was so helpful and friendly! Made us feel really ready and was very knowledgeable about what was going on. He recommended trying The Penthouse room next time, so we are definitely looking into that one! Nope. Been doing escape rooms for several years now.. and I can honestly say that this was the worst organized, worst experience ever. The room that we did (Principal's Office) wasn't correctly set up. We ended up solving a 60 minute room in under 30... But only because key puzzles were solved purely on accident. Random magnets popped doors open prematurely, and cards weren't erased properly after previous users ( you could still see the writing from the last team). We could have overlooked some of this as flukes... But Amber, the "gamemaster" was patronizing and unhelpful. She wouldn't even take the time to explain how the puzzles should have worked. Instead, she claimed she had to get the room set up for the next group, and didn't have time to explain things to us... With 30 minutes still left on the clock! When you're spending the kind of money you are on an experience like this, the least one should expect is courteous, helpful staff, and a game room that works Save your time and your money. My sister and I came here as part of a vacation. We enjoy escape rooms in our hometown and like to see how other escape rooms function and their themes. We enjoyed ourselves here doing the principal's office. The room was challenging and had us guessing at what to do next. Though we did not finish/escape the room, the young lady was kind and offering us help and hints. She let us take a picture with the "we escaped" sign even though we did not. My friends and I have done every moderate and hard room at both the Plano and McKinney locations. Truly one of the best themed and thought through escape rooms in the area. For a birthday party it was not the best choice. The actual escape room and puzzles were challenging aka we did not escape. The party room is nice and we ordered the deluxe package and pizza came but no one is there to help you with the party and they do not even have water onsite. The party rep came and turned on the tv, left and was never seen again. So if you run out of cups plates utensils or need to find the bathroom you're on your own. I guess the positive is you have two puzzles to solve for the price of one. read more

This is the first escape the room we tried in Texas. My sister never tried any and after trying one here she was hooked by the concept of it all. Just remember to sign an online waiver so you don't waste time. Each person minor or not must have it filled out. It is mandatory! Anyways, we tried three in total and all of them had a theme. You can either do a 45 or 60 minute escape the rooms. The three rooms that we did were Principal's Office, Submerged, and Aunt Carol's Closet which are all private rooms. In the beginning they give you a short spiel on what escape rooms are and before each experience you get a summary of what each room is about. All are fully immersive. You can ask for either unlimited clues or do it within 3 clues (they ask what you prefer). The staff was super friendly, but I do have a gripe about some puzzles as it doesn't seem to connect with solving certain things. We were puzzled about how to figure certain things out without a hint. Anyways, I may or may not return in the future as I don't reside in the area. read more

I have been here twice, and plan on completing all of the rooms at this location. I have never lost here and the game masters are usually pretty social and good with presenting the game. There are different levels of rooms, but these are challenging and have unique puzzles, being able to be a part of their experience is cool. There is always a homeless person out front though and made some of my party members feel nervous, but overall the location is nice and you should definitely check it out if you are an escape room fanatic like me. read more

This was our first escape room experience. We did Submerged for my mother and step-dad's birthdays (they are 6 days apart). I don't want to give away any clues about the room, so I'll try to be reeeeeeeally careful! Our VERY nice and VERY helpful Game Master Keith showed us a video with tips - like if you pull something with 2 fingers and it doesn't open, don't try to rip it off the wall -then he went into more detail about the various lock types and how to reset them if you try the wrong code. Then he showed us a video specific to the escape room scenario we were about to enter. For submerged, you are in a submarine, and when we entered the room, we were blown away with how real it looks. They really went all-out! It is SO COOL! Again, I don't want to give anything away, but the experience is so immersive and impressive! Your Game Master monitors the room via cameras, so don't worry about being locked in if there's an emergency - they've got your back! Also, you get 2 free clues if you choose to use them and if you check in online (Did someone say YELP?) you can get a third free clue - again this is if you choose to use it, and there is a monitor in the room that displays your timer as well as any clues you choose to use. We had so much fun, it was everything I had hoped for and more! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have experiences for all age ranges, including small children. I have GOT to check out some of the other scenarios! Was it worth the money? Oh yeah! I don't know how much they spent designing this one (of several) scenario, but it was way cool, exciting, fun, exhilarating - the rush you get when you solve a puzzle is awesome! Teamwork is the name of the game! Work together and have a blast!!! Also - their t-shirts were reasonably priced and are a nice trophy to say "I escaped!" This was my first escape room experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We did principals office (highly recommend for newbies since it was the easiest) and submerged and Carolyn's closet. I didn't know what to expect so when I was hit with all these fun puzzles to solve I was mind blown at the concept of these types of rooms. However, there were a few malfunctions that kinda dampened the experience. For example, a door not opening even though we solved a puzzle correctly and certain puzzle pieces being crumpled on the sides from overuse making it very difficult to piece together. We had to wait a bit longer than usual but I believe there was a birthday party going on and it was a Saturday. I like how they explain everything to you beforehand. They also offer you clues while you're in the room just in case you get stuck on something. We had a lot of fun and it helped our little group problem solve. We were really able to identify each of our strengths and weaknesses and use them to help the whole team escape the room. For all 6 of us, the whole experience was about $150. If you escape in time, you get a sticker & you're eligible to purchase a t-shirt for $15. Check in with social media outlets and receive bonus clues beforehand. read more

We did the submerged room, which was probably not the best one to start with. While there were some very cool elements in the room, and it looks amazing, I found myself frequently frustrated by huge logic jumps and janky tech. Maybe having a few more people in the room would have helped us make connections more quickly, but it was just the 2 of us (which is how we usually prefer to do ERs), and we floundered a few times. I've heard their other rooms are better. Maybe we'll come back and try one of the others sometime. read more

The concept is fun , but some of the clues are faded and the locks are really scratched up so it's hard to figure some of the stuff out. We were stuck on a lock for half of our time because the numbers and the line were so scratched and hard to make out, especially while wearing glasses and it being kind of dark. We asked for help but we just kept getting the same hints and it was a lock issue . Unfortunately we weren't allowed more time , so it felt like a waste of money . read more

tl:dr Staff is nice, experience is fun and challenging, but they don't let you finish if you exceed 1 hr :( We came here as a group of 8 and did the Amnesia room. The staff was nice and understanding when our entire party didn't completely arrive at the stated time. They were patient and we liked the intro video to get us in the spirit. The room was challenging and everything was working. The reason why I'm taking off stars is because they didn't let us finish the room even after time was up. It really does a lot to morale to have someone come in exactly after the 60 mins and tell us time's up...here's what the answer is. It's kinda a bummer to feel unaccomplished. We've been to other escape rooms where they allowed us to finish the room even after the hr is up. It helps everyone have a smile on their face after leaving that at least we figured it out. I'd still recommend this place, but just something to be aware of. Like I said, the staff is nice, the room was fun, but the end just left a disappointing note for everyone. I know, the rules are 60 mins, but perhaps we were spoiled by other escape rooms which let us finish if we didn't make it out in time. read more

I was in town for a meeting, and our event planner scheduled us to go to the Escape Room as a corporate bonding and team building event. We had a great time here! We were helped out by Joy, Kylie, and Kelsy. They were all fantastic and very enthusiastic and eager about their job. you could tell they were having as much fun as we were! We were given a quick orientation on how things worked, like how to undo some of the locks, we were told not to destroy everything in the room, and our mission was revealed. We were split into two groups for our event, and each of us had different mysteries to solve. Ours revolved around recovering a stolen diamond necklace, and the other was centered around a girl who was missing or had been found, but suffered complete amnesia and was unable to remember anything about her life. The goal there was to find out who she was. We entered our room and the games began immediately. We had 1 hour to escape, and we were given some additional clues. As we were meandering around looking like idiots, the staff were monitoring us on cameras and giving us advice on how to proceed if they felt we were at a sticking point. We were able to escape with 12 minutes remaining, and our co-worker competitors did not escape! We were victorious. We had fun and I would go back again with a large group. read more

I was invited to join my daughter and some of her coworkers to experience "The Principal's Office" for her birthday celebration. There were six of us, which was a perfect size group for this room. Our group consisted of mostly teachers so the subject matter of this room was fun for them. There was a wide variety of clues and activities to keep us all engaged and entertained for the entire experience. All rooms have a flow that takes you down a path to eventual escape, but not all have multiple parallel paths like this one. A signature of a quality escape room is when you feel like you missed part of the experience and you want to do it again. A couple of times I found myself wondering where a clue came from or how it was solved, so I give my quality stamp of approval. Half of our group have quite a few escapes under our belts. We expect certain specific tools to be available to aid the escape, and as expected, the tools were found one at a time. This room had an additional tool we had not seen before, which made it interesting. Our Game Master (sorry, I'm terrible with names) was very friendly and helpful. He was engaged with us and dedicated to make our experience perfect from the start. During our orientation video, I observed him watching it with us like it was the first time he ever saw it, even though he has probably seen it a hundred times before. He did a great job explaining how the locks work which was greatly appreciated. Overall though, the room was pretty low-tech and predictable. It lacked the multiple escalating layers of discovery. I still recommend "The Principal's Office" and "North Texas Escape Rooms". read more

Came here for my daughter's 11th Birthday Party, spent 226.00. We had 45 minutes to do Aunt Carol's Closet, the girls had a fun time doing it and escaped with 11 seconds to spare. Afterwards, we went back to the party room and immediately felt rushed, we were suppose to have 1:30 minutes in the party room, but we didn't. The guy came in and was like okay you have 20 minutes left, but we have only been out of the escape room 30 minutes, so is it 1:30 altogether? While packing stuff up after he said 20 minutes, he proceeds to come back 2 more times until I finally told him that we're getting ready to leave, mind you this is still within this 20 minutes. Needless to say I will never spend money at the Escape Room for a party because it's just not worth the money for a room. read more

This place is kind of tucked back. We drive by on 380 almost daily, and I had no idea it was there! It is definitely our new go-to escape room. Our family (10 year old, 11 year old, 2 adults) did the principal's office (45 minutes), and got out with 6 minutes to spare. There was nothing that just completely stumped us, and my kids were able to figure a lot of the stuff out. Our game master was great and attentive; a lock wasn't working right, and he came in to get it for us. We had a similar situation of some very essential lights not working at another escape room in town, and the game master never helped us out. We will definitely be visiting again soon! read more

This was one of our activities at my Camp Mimi for this year. I and my husband had never done one of these before, 1st time for one grandaughter, 2nd for one granddaughter and 3rd for grandson (ages 15-20). We did the Amnesia room and we all had a fantastic time! I especially loved seeing the three grandkids working together and figuring out things my husband and I didn't catch. We made it out with about 1 1/2 min to spare! The kids enjoyed it so much, they were wanting to go to the Plano location to do one there. We had other plans already so will definitely save it for another time! I would HIGHLY recommend trying this and it would be awesome for families or double date nights, etc. This might even be on my "repeat" list for next year's Camp Mimi! :-) read more
