This gas station is a big old and worn out. Exxon needs to completely overhaul this station. Their fuel prices seemed to be a bit higher than nearby gas stations. They have car wash but never use it. I have gone inside but it is no very organized and dirty. I only come here since I use the Exxon Mobil Speedpass+ app to purchase fuel and get rewards from Plenti. The setup to use the app here is weak where the system especially inside is not completely setup and have to type in the long number verses scanning card. I noticed two pumps were out of order and not sure why but using an app connected to Apple Pay bypasses using a credit card and makes my purchase more secure from the station and card skimmer. read more

Avoid this gas station as it is the closest to Circle C and they raise the prices sky high. None of the pumps ever work either and always have out of service bags on them (which you can see from the road). Just go to the Shell station east of cannon, which is three minutes down the road. My late boss used to have a war story that ended with the punch line, "Yeah, but these Fokkers were Messerschmitts!" Sorry, these guys are from a little southeast of Deutschland, but they are Fokkers just the same. Yesterday, I had the poor judgment to go to this station when I was low on gas. I've never liked stopping at this station, not just because of the outrageous price differential (seldom less than 20 cents a gallon), but because of the unfriendly attitude of the staff. Unfortunately, this is one of the few gas stations in the area due to the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone restrictions. Also, for some unknown reason, I've always felt when I walked in as though they were secret agents of some foreign group and, somehow, I was unwittingly their sworn enemy. So, this time, I tried doing a POS purchase at their dilapidated, sun-bleached pump to avoid dealing with the staff entirely. Card swipe. "Enter data" pops up on the screen. In my experience, typically this dialog means the card is a corporate credit account, which mine is not. Undaunted, I enter my Zip Code. "See Attendant" message. Notice small laminated sign above that read "Enter Data = Enter Zip Code", which means I did it right. Repeat the process with the same result. Reluctantly go inside. Again, card swipe results in a decline. What happened next was rather bizarre. The attendant proceeded to engage me in a lengthy debate as to how much gas it would take to fill my car. I told the attendant $35. He looked at the car, and asked if it was on empty. I replied "Yes". He told me $25 would do and manually keyed the card and claimed the magnetic stripe was defective (it wasn't; I've used it at least a dozen times since this purchase without fault). (Now, you would think after owning the same car for over 14 years, I would be able to do the math 16 times $2.20 in my head and estimate it myself, but *he* knew my car better than did I, of course.) Desperate to get out of there, I said "Sure, will it cut off at $25?". He said "Yes". This time the transaction went through. And, of course, it did cut off at $25, which was about 3/4 of a tank on the gauge. Stay away from this place. Non standard dialog on their POS pumps makes me suspicious that there's something else going on here. And staff who are not customer service oriented are no bonus at these prices. I only fill up once a week, so, unlike some, I don't feel a need to stop at every gas station I see and buy a little bit here, a little bit there. Whatever. Next time, I'll just drive as far as I can and walk the rest of the way with a gas can. I know how to buy gas. These jackals just need to learn how to run a gas station. read more

It is OK, but I have noticed I have reduced the number of times I buy gas here as the prices are often much higher than other stations on my chores route. Of course, I forgot to get gas yesterday or earlier today and so I stopped for gas as I was too tired from running around. The nice thing is that it is very convenient and does stock some of the emergency chips and beer solutions to running out of something. As with any convenience store, items prices are higher than at a big box or discount grocery store, but there are times I don't want to drive and then fight crowds and lines for a bag of snacks. read more

Exxpens-o-ville. That's what I call this gas station. It is usually well maintained. It's nicely landscaped. But gas is usually about 10 cents a gallon more than gas down the street. I think they get away with it because there is no other gas station on that side of the road for quite a while in either direction. Which is fine. Good for them for securing the corner on gas there. Crooks- Paid for six dollars of gas when I was on E and my needle didn't move even 5 miles later. That was pump number three about three weeks ago. There's been a couple of other times in the last year that I have put $10 of gas in my car when I was on the E and the needle barely moved. I have a small tank. Only 12 gallons so six dollars would've at least gotten me close to a quarter of a tank at any other gas station. May be pump jumping throughout filling up, whatever's going on. It's a sham and it's thievery. Call the Texas agricultural commission and make sure to report the pump, the gas station. It happens all over town. Nice friendly Exxon gas station. Employees are always helpful. Men's room does not lock , pumps are slow, and gas is slightly more expensive.......So, WHY the five stars ? you ask. The answer is simple, : SPINACH -POTATO -CHEESE -TACOS. Taste like no other breakfast taco you have ever eaten. The balance between the sautéed spinach, melt in your mouth breakfast potatoes , and cheddar cheese is one of the most perfect flavor tangos I have ever experienced. The accompanying red and green hot sauces are divine. These are not your usual heat lamp gas station tacos, oh no. Made in-house by a Mexican lady , from scratch every morning with fresh ingredients . Who woulda thunk it? Some of the best tacos in Austin at a gas station. This gas station is the literal worst. Their credit card readers barely work, they've got plenty of empty shelves in their coolers, and if you walk in within 15 minutes of closing the guy behind the counter will be a Class A diiiiick to you. Drive the extra 2 min to go somewhere else. read more

This place is ridiculous. They only take cash for lotto (the rest of the world has moved into the 21st century and accepts debit cards) and their gas is WAY more expensive than others in the area. Nice gas station. The outside is well lit at night with many pumps. The inside is clean, lots of items and there is even a deli inside with Boars Head deli meats! There is a large wine and beer selection too! The clerks are friendly and greeted me when I walked in. read more

When we first moved south and the lovely HEB at Slaughter and Escarpment was simply a field of scrub brush, we were entertaining friends in our new home. I realized that we had drunk all the dinner wine with our appetizers. Sh*t! I though, where the hell am I gonna get wine to go with dinner? I knew the Exxon on the corner sold beverages, but growing up in Fort Worth, one could only get selections such as Boone's Farm at the local convenience store. Oh well, I thought, Thunderbird goes well with prime rib. And it's fortified! I ventured to the corner store, and lo and behold, they had a nice selection of decent wines, and the prices weren't even jacked up to the ceiling! They also carry craft beers...wow. I'm giving this station 3 stars for that reason, plus, it's very clean and the people that work there are always nice. I only buy gas here if I'm running on fumes, and the car wash? Nyet. The gas is more expensive than all the other stations in the area, but only by a few cents these days, since the Saudi's are pissed at us. It's nice to know one can find decent wine at the neighborhood gas station. God I love this town! read more

This place seems to be much higher than other stations in the area. I always have to go inside to retrieve a receipt as the pumps are either broken or out of paper. If you can make it to another station I highly suggest doing so. read more

This is a great neighborhood gas station/market. The employees make it form a good place to a great place. The fountain drinks are somehow mixed just right and the nozzles are clean. There wasn't any slime in the ice machine and the floors are remarkably clean given the traffic. It is always a good time at the Gas Station at Escarpment! read more

This store has gone extremely downhill. My own neighborhood store with so much potential never capitalized on. I don't buy gas here anymore it's more expensive then any C-store in the neighborhood. The pumps are always down. The lighting is bad. Be careful they have. It updates their systems to take chip cards so fraudulent people will look to this store as a prime source to steal card information. So sad !! read more

This gas station is conveniently located and easy to access. It is on my way to work and since it opened I have been to it less than a handful of times. I drive by it everyday multiple times yet never once in the last 5 years did I feel slightly tempted to use their service. First off, The gas here is consistently 10c to 30c higher than surrounding stations. Depending on your type of vehicle expect $2-$5 extra every time you fill up. Also from my limited experience all the items in the store is similarly marked up, from coffee to snacks to water. One time a friend and I grabbed a bottle of soft drink. Clearly labeled a certain price, at the counter it was 40 cent more. Its not the 40 cents. Its the way the sales reps reacted when we mentioned it. "do you want it or not?" is the attitude. We are like, go look at the label yourself! But he is like, I know, but so what. I used to own a small business and know its hard work. No one can be perfect. I really wish all of the local businesses the best and rarely give a bad review. But also as a consumer I believe we have the responsibility to protect our own interest and should reflect things as honestly as possible. So with that being said, I will never go to this place, I have told all my family and friends to not go here. And yes to Leila, I would rather break down in the middle of the road than to come to this place. And If everyone would do that, then I believe the service and pricing for all consumers would improve. I am not giving up on this station however, as I believe all business has the capability and deserves a chance to improve. These people are the WORST! Their gas is the most expensive around. And they have terrible customer service. I went in to buy some beer (I am 21 with a legal non expired ID) and he wouldn't sell to me. I got so mad because this guy was being so ridiculous. I told him to call the cops and he just shook his head. I then asked who the manager/owner was several times, and he refused to tell me. He told me he wouldn't sell to me because he didn't know if it was me (I look the same as I did when I got that ID). This guy single handedly is the reason I will NEVER return to this shit hole of a gas station. Boycott this place at all costs. read more
