We made a reservation for Clark's a few weeks ago and were very excited yesterday when the day finally came for our weeknight date night. We had reservations for 6:45 and got there closer to 6:35. We had to wait a bit as the previous table was still at ours and I think we got seated around 6:55. They apologized when they sat us but still, don't think I've had to wait that long with a reservation before anywhere else and usually, at most places, if you're early you'll still get seated early if not on time. Oh well, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that. Otherwise, the experience was great. We started with a 'leaving on Monday' as I couldn't help myself after hearing it was Anthony Bourdain's favorite and she got the Amber waves. Both were really good but next time, I might ask for light ice on mine. To start, we got the 2 each of the Sex on the bay, Savage Blonde, and Blish point Oysters and then also an oyster shooter and a dressed oyster. I think the savage blonde was the fave but all were really good and man, she loved the dressed oyster. The oyster shot was decent but from just a mix of vodka and oysters isn't something I'll probably do again. We then had the bluefin tuna carpaccio and it was so interesting. Lots of flavor and the capers were delicious. We had read the gruyere burger was a must so we split that with the shoestring fries. The burger was a top 5 of the ones I've had in Austin; not huge though so if you want a large portion, probably get something else with it. I'm not sure how to feel about the fries tbh. They were hyped too but they were so thin. They were good but I think I'd prefer if they were double the size as you couldn't even dip them in ketchup without them falling apart. To finish, we split of scoop of cream cheese ice cream and it was fantastic. Price D was our server and was friendly and seemed pretty on top of things and overall he did a good job. We left happy and will probably go again but maybe for happy hour next time just to soften the blow on the wallet. Our bill with tip was $180 which was expected but not something I would do all the time.

One of my top places to sit in a patio and drink delicious wine, people watch, and bring friends. Their fries are so addicting love them. Plus everything else from oysters to burgers are great! The wait staff are always so knowledgeable and friendly.

Tuna sandwich, fantastic! (split in half to share)

I came here on my birthday for lunch with my mom and had a fantastic time! The ambiance was very cute, and I loved their salt water fish tank with sea anemone and lots of fish like clownfish. The bathrooms were gender neutral which was nice, but one of the bathrooms was missing a hook on the door to hang things on which would have been nice to have for my long coat. We were really excited to see some seafood classics like raw oysters (so fresh), the tuna sandwich (one of the best I've ever had), and clam chowder (excellent) on the menu. Everything was fantastic and I loved that I got to try 8 varieties of oysters! I loved every single one of them except for one which was a little too earthy for my taste (little Moon, LA). The fresh bread was so soft and delicious, we ate 2 loafs! The iced tea was great and I got several refills. Our server was so wonderful and attentive and even took some photos of me and my mom. This restaurant was a true delight, and a lovely way to celebrate my birthday. I will definitely be back!

Had a delicious dinner at Clark's! The restaurant is quite small inside so make sure you look in advance if you want a good reservation time especially on Fridays and Saturdays. We had to find street parking as there's not a lot of parking available on the premises. We were started off with some complimentary sourdough bread with unsalted butter (salt on the side) and radishes! I highly recommend you keep some of the bread to soak up the tasty sauces you will enjoy later on in the meal. For apps we ordered the bluefin tuna plate and the crudo plate. We were kind of okay with the bluefin tuna as the components that came with the dish did not taste good together. The crudo plate was our favorite dish of the night; the sauce it comes with and the 4 different types of market fish is incredibly fresh! For mains we got the crispy snapper and halibut. I thought the halibut was kind of dry but the sauces accompanying it were amazing and helped cut out the dryness. The snapper was good too. Overall highly recommend this spot!

First time visit though we have walked by this place many, many times. Recommended by a friend as a great place to visit so here we are. Lunch on a Thursday in November, a cloudy day in the low eighties. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table outside, and the overall service and ambience was great. We started with the complimentary sour dough bread, followed by a dozen oysters (6 Pink Moon & 6 Honeymoon), Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and the Oak Grilled Spanish Octopus. All four were wonderful, with some deft touches applied to each dish (see pictures). But the winner was the Oak Grilled Spanish Octopus, just exceptional. We will definitely be back.

I love everything about this place. It's charming and the Service was very good. Everything I ate I loved. I had the crab Louie salad (which is big enough to split), I had the crispy tile fish which was delicious with lemon on top. The clam chowder was amazing (probably the best I've ever had), the bread was the best - my husband loved the little radishes that came with it, & my dessert was delicious!

I don't believe there is anything amiss with this restaurant! I have been many times throughout the years and it slaps every single time. From the cold dishes to the icy cold beer to wash down the best burger in town! In my humble opinion of course. The servers and staff are elite and thoughtful. The food is top notch. The price point makes absolute sense for the quality of food and service you get here. Oh man.... I already can't wait to come back!

Omg I don't know where to begin!! Came for lunch and sat on the patio on a beautiful afternoon. Drank white wine and had oysters, ceviche and the snapper! To DIE for! Everything was scrumptious!! I wish I had a bigger stomach because I would have ordered more! Oh and Daisy our server was awesome!

Had an *outstanding* late lunch at Clark's - not knowing the true nuances of oysters, I asked for an 'omakase' selection (a trick borrowed from sushi places), and the server hit perfection with a variety of everything. I recommend doing so, if you're not certain of your preferences. Also added the amazing showstring fries to round things out. Very hip 6th Ave Austin vibe. Strongly recommended :)

We visited this spot on a Friday afternoon, and it was absolutely packed, which shows how popular it is. The vibe definitely leans casually fancy, with a stylish atmosphere that makes it feel like a special outing. I tried a few of their vegetable dishes, including the cabbage steak, cauliflower, baked potatoes, and kale. While everything was nicely plated and cooked well, I'd say this isn't the best choice if you're vegetarian or vegan. Many of the veggie dishes carried a strong meaty flavor, almost as if they were cooked in the same style as the meat options, which wasn't quite what I was looking for. The food itself was fine, just not particularly memorable for the price point--it felt a little on the expensive side for what I ordered. Overall, I'd say it's more of a place to accompany friends than a go-to spot for plant-based eaters.

Fresh baked bread & whipped butter!

We have traveled all over the world & to every continent (multiple times) & Clark's is one of the most-fantastic, memorable & "as good as it gets" restaurants were ever dined at! "Christian" was one of the most knowledgeable, intuitive & professional (& sommelier-like) servers we've ever experienced!! Everything he facilitated, observed & recommended was to perfection!!! Next to our table were a group of 4-Austin girls celebrating one of their birthdays~we bought her a cake with candle & all of us sang & wished her a "Happy Birthday"~then "Christian" appeared & informed them that one of their girlfriends whom couldn't join them picked up their tab!!!! Clark's & "Christian", Thank You for an unbelievable & unforgettable evening, which we shall never forget!!!!!

    What time is HH?

3-6 Mon-Fri: 50 cents off oysters, 1/2 off burgers $5 martinis, oyster shooters and drafts

Is the wait on Sat night at 7 like an hour or like never sit down? (Two people who don't mind sitting at the bar or wherever.)

It's hard to tell. Sometimes there's no wait. It also depends on the weather and where you want to sit. There's usually bar spots open.

Is there really only 6 parking spots, maybe 10 if you get lucky on the street?

    Yes

Is the burger half off on Saturday and Sunday?

    No.

    Do they have valet?

    No. :(

The churro toast was tasty, but a bit on the overly sweet side - I would skip and opt for the pancakes instead, which were unreal. Soft and fluffy inside, lightly crisp on the outside, topped with caramelized plantains and an incredible whipped cream. They're easily some of the best pancakes I've had in Austin, and I'd come back just for those. The space is beautiful and the service is on point, but brunch here feels seriously underrated. Both times we went it was surprisingly quiet, which makes sense since Ember seems to be better known for dinner. If you're looking for a great brunch without the usual wait, definitely give it a try.

Carrots were undercooked and soggy at the same time. Tuna tartare was solid but the plantain chips were so thin they broke when you tried to use them as a chip. Nice concept but had little flavor to the plantain. Yucca chips were nice. 1/2 chicken was dry and overpowered by citrus. Market fish was divine. Ambiance was beautiful however it smelled like a mix of fabuloso and used restrooms which was tough to get past. We were also seated in a busy hallway that made it hard to have a conversation. Service was great and they have such a nice and helpful staff. Underwhelmed and we won't be back unfortunately.

This dish was delicious and everything you can ask for from a pasta. Gnocchi special with Peas and Asperagus is a must. This creamy and feather light dish was packed with so much flavour. Lobster scalloping was very good as well and so was the filet mignon. But best of all were the side of carrots, pear and endive salad and the Cho salad. I highly recommend ordering family style for the table but make sure your whole party is on board with splitting the check evenly because the restaurant does not break up the check according to diners only split evenly, I believe up to four ways. Example: Our check was $822 (included gratuities) for seven people and we were only able to split evenly four ways. Roughly $118 each. It is what it is but I didn't even get a main course. Just a glass of wine, a half of a piece of bruschetta, some of the Caesar salad and a small portion of the gnocchi (all shared) I'm glad I got to experience Red Ash, but now that I've checked that off my list, I'm good.

I was a little apprehensive for a couple of reasons: 1-I don't eat seafood. 2-I'm often leery of corporate/chain-style places. *Yes, I go to them but often times not good experiences. Let me tell you something, my concerns vanished almost as soon as we walked in. My cousin made reservations and we were sat immediately. They were pretty busy however, we had such a lovely time that we shut the place down. We were there for almost four hours! It's easy to get lost in conversation with a good glass of wine (or a bottle + several glasses after that lol), good company, food, and a place with great ambiance. The ambiance was spot on. The decor and lighting are exquisite. I can see why so many people choose Truluck's for a special occasion or date night. It's upscale & magical. Truly a premium dinner destination. Service was incredible. Talk about premium...we were treated like royalty. Curtis went above and beyond for us. Such a nice & sweet guy. Even at the end of the evening when we shut the place down, the manager took pics of us on our behalf and chatted with us as well. He didn't make us feel rushed or that we weren't wanted there any longer. Food: We had sides for the table that included asparagus, truffle fries, Lyonnaise potatoes, and Parker House-style rolls. All delicious. I had the tomato salad (minus dressing) with black pepper & it was perfect as a summer main. It paired wonderfully with the asparagus & bread. My cousin had the filet mignon cooked at medium. I had a couple of bites and that was one delicious steak. Her daughter had the Ora King Salmon and she absolutely loved it. She said it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My boyfriend and my cousin's sister-in-law had the lobster bisque and they were in heaven. They couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Must have been because it had a strong lobster smell (remember, I don't do seafood). My boyfriend loves a good wedge salad so he had one with his soup. He was definitely jiving on its goodness. The sister-in-law had the jumbo lump crab cake and raved about the texture and flavor. As I mentioned earlier, the wine was flowing. However, I opted for still water with orange & lemon slices. We all had still with either citrus or cucumber slices. My boyfriend and I kind of shared a mini-Manhattan. By kind of I mean I had three sips. That was a proper Manhattan. Cheers to the incredible mixologists on staff. We rounded the evening out with two desserts for the table, Baked Alaska (see vids) & Key Lime Pie. Holy sugar were they good! I was pleasantly surprised by this experience and look forward to going back again. It's nice to be able to spend time with family in such a luxurious setting. Impeccable all around.

Now the food was simply amazing. The halibut was melt in your mouth and I still am thinking about how good it was. The scallop was probably the best I've ever had, and I love scallops. I had one of their cocktails and it was also outstanding, and the ice cube even had an H on it! For the quality of food I felt the prices were very reasonable on the à la carte menu. If we lived in Austin we would be regulars here for all of our special events! Thank you Hestia team for making our trip so special!

We ordered: scallops, texas Wagyu bavette and halibut. The server recommended the bread so we ordered that too. When we received the bread, it was in a small basket and freshly out of the " oven ", which they seemed to be proud of serving very fresh bread. The bread was approximately 1/6 of the length of a regular baguette for $6 and a bit of unsalted butter. We split the bread in half and after eating a piece, immediately, it tasted gummy and very sour the inside part of the bread. I double checked if the sourness came from the butter, but the butter was fine. The sourness came from the center of the bread. I informed the server that the center was sour/gummy and felt undercooked. They took my piece and returned it to the kitchen and gave us a new piece of bread. But that bread had the same issue. Gummy and sour in the center. I had to peel away that part and just eat the outer parts. For the scallops, unfortunately the sauce did not meet expectations. You could tell the scallops were of high quality, but the sauce was too salty and too acid. What a disappointment. The entrées were fine. The halibut was good, maybe a bit dry, but the sauce saved it. The Wagyu bavette was initially a tad too salty, but then as I kept eating it tasted fine. But I realized I just slowly got used to the saltiness of the meal. This meal ended up being way too salty because I had to drink a huge amount of water and felt dehydrated after this meal (I didn't consume any alcohol!) I did give the feedback about the bread and scallops to the server, he stated that he will share it to the chef. Hopefully they can improve. They did comp the bread which was a nice gesture. I did look online what could cause the gumminess and sourness of the bread (as I was curious if I was the abnormal one) and here is what they say: " A gummy center combined with a very sour taste is the classic signature of an under-fermented loaf (often called "under-proofed").When dough does not spend enough time in the warm bulk fermentation phase, the yeast fails to create a strong, airy structure, leaving the center dense and wet. Concurrently, the bacteria keep producing acid without the yeast balancing it out, resulting in a highly sour, flat flavor. " Solutions to fix this is : " Extend Bulk Fermentation: Let your dough rise longer at room temperature until it increases in volume by 30% to 50% and feels full of air.Watch the Temperature: If your kitchen is cool (under 70°F / 21°C), move the dough to a warmer spot like an off oven with the light turned on.Cool Completely: Always wait at least 2 to 4 hours before slicing into a fresh loaf so the interior starches can finish setting as the steam escapes. " They should have definitely not served us the bread pipping hot and they should have allowed the bread to rise longer. Perhaps take out the bread of your menu if you don't have the time to let your bread rise longer or cool.....

Our sever, forgive me I forgot her name it started with a G and she had an accent, was the epitome of what all servers should strive to be. She was attentive, helpful, friendly, professional, all of the above JUST AMAZING! We dined before a concert and let her know we were in a slight rush and she made sure everything came out coursed but not rushed. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! The oysters and mignonette, steak sliders, truffle mac but omg that halibut stole the show! Mega hats off to the BOH staff, they killed it in every way. Also, if we were sharing and item the kitchen split and plated it for each us, HOW AMAZING! We couldn't decide between dessert since we were so full and short on time we picked the slightly quicker and smaller option; yet still our AMAZING server, G we'll call her, brought us a MINI bananas foster because she knew how much we wanted to try it but were scared of the portion size. I mean can you EVEN???? we felt SO taken care of by her and all other staff around us. everyone was moving with such grace and precision. I literally could not recommend this place enough!!! Last night was my second time in the past year going to Eddie V's for their fantastic happy hour…read morewith my friend! It's becoming our after work spot to grab a bite before going to a concert. I've still only gotten the Mini Filet Sandwiches which is center cut filet mignon on toasted brioche buns, Shaft's blue cheese, and onion Jam. I think I even got the same drink last time, the Spicy Margarita with El Jimador Tequila, Patrón Citrónge, fresh lime, jalapeño. It's so good! And the filet minon is $12 and the drink is $10. Even the free bread and butter is amazing sourdough with something added to the butter (maybe cinnamon, I'm not sure). We always just go casual and sit at the bar which is dark and moody but with friendly staff at the place that is typically a fancier dining experience. Go to their website and look at the whole menu for the Happy Hour which is 4p-6:30p every day of the week.
