I have waited well over a year to post this review, 15 months, in hopes my giant bird of paradise…read morewould "grow back in a year" as Brandon half-heartedly promised after his guys left barren what was once a wall of mature and lush giant bird of paradise. This provided a much needed layer of privacy form my neighbors above, which is now gone. Unfortunately this bird of paradise wall were so thinned with so many actually removed that this remains barren and will for many years to come. The 20 years these plants have developed into such a nice landscape barrier was eliminated in one afternoon by these tree trimmers. Nick at this company texted with me to communicate about the work and no one stopped by to meet me in person as every other tree trimmers always have in the past, to understand the needs and goals of the project. Instead, communications felt rushed. I explained my home is a short term rental with intermittent vacancies and rather than rushing the job, there were several longer 2-3 day vacancies in the coming weeks where the work could be scheduled so I could be present. I think they wanted the immediate work the following day and therefore rushed it. I did ask for the bird of paradise to be "thinned out" and "trimmed" quite a bit but this work practically obliterated them, removing far too many to the point where there is no privacy remaining. I was devastated to see the outcome and further frustrated that the workers did not clean up after themselves, knowing I had guests checking in to the home that evening. Instead, the backyard was left in disarray for my guests to deal with and for me to put back. The BBQ grill was left out in the middle of the patio, pool lounge chairs and a heavy umbrella stand left across the deck leaning up against a fence, broken lantern lights on my patio. Rather than taking accountability for the rushed nature of the work I was blamed for asking for the bird of paradise to "thinned" and "trimmed." There was a complete lack of empathy and accountability from Nick which was clear in his tone. There was no diligence in prepping for this job as other companies do, such as meeting me in person to understand my goal's of maintaining privacy with neighbors, or sending pictures mid job to gauge progress and if more removal should be done. Asking for things to be "trimmed" and "thinned" is really what anyone person hiring tree trimmers would request, but going overboard was never what I asked for or expected. Never in 13 years of owning this home have I encountered a lack of communication, empathy and accountability with clean up such as this. All tree trimmers I've hired have always done due diligence and met in person to discuss expectations, and have cleaned up after themselves. The underlying theme that this was my fault, with no accountability, continued when the owner, Brandon, contacted me to collect payment. It became more uncomfortable when he came to my place of residence the following day so I could pay him the balance in cash. This was such an upsetting experience. I graciously held off on writing this review in hopes things would grow back. Still, 15 months later I am just as upset by the outcome and backyard with no resolution. My landscaper says they removed way too much and the barren areas will never fill in.

It's just that we wanted weeding and trimming which the previous company didn't do. They only did mowing and edging. The agreement in writing with Las Palmas was to mow, edge, weed and trim all lower bushes/plants. The lawn care was good, the weeding and trimming was almost nonexistant. I figured each week they'd probably get to it, but didn't. I caught the worker while he was here today and pointed out what wasn't getting done. He said ok, but then left. I called Marcos, the owner, and asked that he come by so I could show him. His first response was to say he wanted to quit because he couldn't satisfy me. I'm thinking WTF? This is the first time I've said anything to them and I was just asking him to do what he had contracted to do. I told him I didn't want him to quit, just to do the weeding,etc. He said he'd rather quit. I'm kind of shocked by his response to be honest. I informed him I would warn others regarding his work and once again reiterated I didn't want him to quit, just do what he agreed to. He quit.

Three years ago we hired Tan to redo our irrigation around the house. We've also been using him…read morefor recurring yard maintenance since. Tan was very responsive through our questions when we first reached out to him but once the irrigation job started he disappeared. Today he never responds to my calls and no one responds to the emails even though we've been having problems with the irrigation: (1) sprinkler not working and the grass has dried out. (2) irrigation and valve planning were not well thought out. (3) our palm trees are more brown and yellow than green I would give the irrigation workmanship and customer service 2/5: 1) our grass has dried out this spring and we've been asking our service guy, Don, and calling/texting/emailing Tan without any response. 2) There is a lot of water going to the side of our house where we don't have many plants and it's connected to the same valve as the drip pipes at the front of our house where not enough water gets to. When I try to contact Don about it, I never get a text/call/email back. 3) our palm trees' leaves have been looking yellow and brown for years. With life being so busy, we had not much effort into investigating why. This past summer I have researched it and found that it wasn't getting enough water (service men control this) and the soil lacks nutrition. I had to be on top of the staff for them to finally work on the timing. Because Tan doesn't return my calls and texts, I hired an outside consultant to learn that the soil is lacking nutrition. 4) when the irrigation was installed, the controller was installed outside the house. They removed the plug of my lighting and plugged in the controller. Because the former was unplugged and left without a cover, it of course rusted. It took them over a year to come back and change the controller to something that would plug in along with our lighting. I have many more example of their poor customer service and negligence. They've taken advantage of the fact that we don't have time to be on their backs. They are all nice but nice doesn't cut it when the service is poor. The only reason they get two stars is because they have shown up for the monthly service and Don does a great job of blowing out the leaves.

In addition, I had a nasty gravel pathway that was awful and wanted that removed as well. What I was quoted would take two days only took one and I am very happy with the results, It's not fancy but it is clean, no more weeds, trees trimmed and gravel pathway is now gone replaced by pavers.
