Luis arrived early on Sunday morning to give me an estimate and was able to do the work as early as that Friday. He also gave me a quote on a job for my neighbor who decided to hold off on his project. He and his crew quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly removed eleven fountain grass plants as well as an extra one near the fence. They were able to get the entire root ball out for all of them. We had Luis and his team come out to trim our canary date palm several times over the years since moving to La Mesa and were continually impressed with their professionalism, service and price compared to other quoted we received. Unfortunately our tree succumbed to the dreaded South American Palm Weaveil and had to be taken down completely and once again they did an amazing job and at a fraction of the cost. There was even a small mishap in which a wayward palm chunk flew down the hill and did some damage to a shed door, but they were quick to report it, and replace it as if nothing had happened. Not only did Luis and his team do a great job trimming the multiple trees and cleaning up her lawns, but my neighbor lady suddenly took a fall while stepping outside as they worked. I was real hesitant to get a contractor to remove the overgrown tree from my lawn. With a lack of time to perform the removal I went ahead and hired Luis and his team. They brought in the heavy equipment with the wood chipper, dump truck and the stump grinder. All of them working took about 20 minutes to perform the service. The job was in no way sloppy and they raked all the loose twigs and leaves. They even threw away my trash bag of leaves on the side of my house! Higuera's removed a big, nearly 20 ft. tree branch from my neighbor's tree that fell on my roof after the hurricane on August 20, 2023. They also trimmed my neighbor's tree and their palm trees which had been regularly dropping large, heavy palm leaves on my roof. They did a fantastic job! They worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up all the debris (leaves and smaller branches) around the house as well. Although my neighbor had hired them for the branch removal and trimming, I was impressed with their work and hired them to cut a few hedges in my front yard and a small tree that was hanging over the fence from my neighbor's side. I needed a large ficus tree removed in my backyard and a pepper tree trimmed in front. Luis came by on a Saturday to give me a quote. He was on time and answered all my questions, including that the humongous, bane-of-my-existence messy tree was a ficus. That was my first quote and after getting a few others, all were pretty close in price and well below what I'd feared. I chose Higuera because Luis was on time, promised to cut the stump lower than the other 2, and also showed concern about protecting my property and the neighbors' on the other side of the fence. They were booked for a few weeks out which wasn't an issue and once it was scheduled everything went as promised. They put out no parking signs on the street the day before. They arrived a little early so they were able to start right at 7am. They were super efficient and were done by 12:30pm. The end result was just as promised and they cleaned up my property, my neighbors' property, and the street nicely. There were 6-7 guys total. They took safety precautions. All wore protective equipment and masks. They lowered branches with ropes in a safe manner and spotted and assisted the guy in the tree. They covered my deck with boards and were careful maneuvering branches and the stump grinder around my deck and fence. In the end the price was as agreed upon and I couldn't be happier with the job they did. I will be recommending them to my friends and plan to contact them the next time my front tree needs trimming.
