I needed 7 dwarf palm trees, all with the triple trunks, removed from my front and back yards. I wanted them removed because of the black sooty mold and white fly that was a constant problem. The tallest palm was probably about 15 ft. Jose and his crew of 4 guys showed up as scheduled and had the entire project done in 1 1/2 hours. Their hand grinder did not damage any of the nearby concrete, and all the stumps and roots were cleared. They cleaned the entire yard with the blower. I will hire them to plant more plants. They were very efficient and polite and easy to communicate with. I appreciated that Jose came out to take a look and discuss the removal before the actual removal. He was respectful of my concerns about the possibility of the concrete being damaged and allayed my doubts. read more

Jose's team did a great job again. They removed a dead palm tree, trimmed our queen palm and cut back and shaped our sycamore. Our dead palm tree was right next to our pool. They cut the palm down with great care as to not get debris into the pool. Even though there was little debris, they netted our pool after the job was done. Excellent! I like how Jose's team asked us how much we wanted our Sycamore trimmed. One of his crew was in the tree and showed us where they recommended trimming it down to. This helped keep the tree shape overall. We've used this company for our tree trimming needs as they continue to impress us. Leafittous owner Jose Bedoya responded promptly to my initial inquiry and communicated very reliably by texting information about appointments and arrival times. He listened to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions and discussed options for my overgrown avocado tree. Although it would have been simpler for him to do extreme pruning and be done with it, he explained that it was best for the tree to do some shaping and then do further pruning step by step as needed. It is clear that Jose is very knowledgeable about the health of trees and not simply how to maintain their appearance. In spite of an obviously busy schedule, he later came out again when I contacted him with a concern and examined the tree to determine what was needed. Was a little tough to schedule but very happy with the end product! We will be using them for all future tree needs. Very reasonable, and you can tell the tree was trimmed in a way that it is still happy and viable. They removed a dead tree trunk for us and structurally pruned our Bradford Pear. Jose was very prompt in scheduling an appointment to examine the health of our gum and pepper tree. He came out within 2 days of our initial call! He gave very helpful recommendations on how to improve the health of one of the trees and spent time explaining how to know if the improvements are working. He also identified a huge concern with another one of our trees. I never would have guessed that it was decaying until his inspection. Very grateful that he detected it so we can address it ASAP. Reached out to Leaf It To Us due to a tree that appeared to not be doing well at all. After reading some of their reviews, I called to inquire about a consultation. I spoke to Jose, who simply asked for a few pictures of the tree via text and then called me right back to identify the type of tree (I was clueless, it is an Ash tree) and what was going on. His advice for care was simple and straightforward (and low maintenance, which is my preference). It was also clear from the other things he noted in my pictures that he definitely does know what he's talking about. Jose and his crew are the only tree pruners I ever permit to work on my trees. They just finished another excellent job for me in which they removed one tree that was planted too close to the house. Then they safety pruned two more large Canary Island pines so that I could keep them and enjoy the shade while not having to worry about wind storm damage. Waited a week and no response. I emailed and phoned for a consultation. I need an arborist to opine on an apparent fungal infection in a dying jacaranda tree. I needed an expert to see if it can be saved and to keep the fungus from spreading to my other trees. Knowing it is not a money-making big tree trim job, I offered to pay for a consultation. We have had Jose out a couple of times to tame our unruly rubber fig tree. He is a true tree artist. Called Jose regarding transplanting our Ocotilllo plant from one location in our yard to another because of additional work we are having done to our backyard. Jose stated that he had never worked with Ocotillo's before, although he knew about them. The next day we met for him to see the plant and our yard. He explained all the research he had done and talked quite a bit about what my options were. Much of the information he talked about I too had read, however he had a lot more information then what I had found. Shortly after approving the his quote his crew was out to my house and made it all happen. He has a great crew!! You could not tell that we had anything where the Ocotillo originally resided. They placed at the top corner of our property, kudos to them for getting it safely up there!! The crew had to dig up a handful of other succulents and safely set them to the side so that I could replant them elsewhere. They also move a sprinkler head for us as it was right where the plant needed to go. They added supports until the roots are reestablished and explained how I need to care for it over the next two months. We will definitely be calling on Jose for any future needs. read more

We had a really overgrown pine tree that was previously pruned incorrectly according to two other tree services people. José was referred to us by an architect neighbor. He was so patient when explaining to me what needed to be done and what his quote covered. He came over multiple times and even brought a laser pointer in order to show me exactly where and how he'd want to trim the tree. His crew did a great job executing his plan. They were courteous, hardworking, and efficient. They finished a big job in one day and left our backyard super clean. We have a lot of plants under the tree as well. I became aware of Leaf it To Us when I attended a tree pruning class that the owner, Jose Bedoya, was facilitating at the Water Conservation Garden. He was so obviously knowledgeable and his philosophy to save trees whenever possible, and allowing them to grow naturally, matched with mine. Our property is less than 1/2 acre. Nobody has done any work on the trees in over 30 years. It has two very large old trees (a California Pepper and a Jacaranda), 3 very tall Mexican palms (which did bombing raids every time the wind blew), with an understory of quickly growing Ash trees a driveway of messy cedars, numerous Mexican pepper trees, a sad lemon and a stalwart orange. If also used to have a monstrously overgrown and unrecognizable dead honeysuckle and a big as* palm stump. I say used to because Jose and his crew came in and in one day they cleaned up virtually every tree and bush on the property and took out that stump and cut down that insane honeysuckle which was long dead. And by the way, by doing so they uncovered a beautiful little olive tree that in just 4 short weeks has filled out and come into her own. Jose came first to consult and then, at our request provided a quote with everything called out individually. Not only was this appreciated from a transparency perspective but it allowed us to determine what we could/couldn't afford. As it turned out, we went with having everything done. They came exactly when they said they would - like an army! I think there were 6 people. They had an organized approach and worked steadily throughout the day and finished in about 8 hours. They cleaned up everything! If you hadn't seen the trees before, you wouldn't have known they were here. And the price was the same at the end of the job as the estimate going in. It's a month later and everything looks even better. The trees are happy. We're happy. You'll be happy. I couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

This company is top notch!! They are true arborists. They gently trimmed and reshaped a large tree in front of my house near the street and removed a dying orange tree in my back yard. They ground the stump and had great awareness to my sliding glass doors by holding a piece of plywood up to keep wood chips from hitting the glass doors. Their response time is amazing. Has a very positive phone consultation with Jose, who reviewed photos I had emailed, and talked me through what I did (or did not) have to do to keep trees healthy and productive.
