He pointed right across the street and said go see Vic. With still a bit of a wound, I walked over and introduced myself and explained what I was looking for. I gave him some background information about the experience with the other company, and expressed my expectations and other important terms. Victor conveyed an understanding of my difficulties and assured me that I would be taken care of. After the narratives were finished we talked price. While certainly not the cheapest quote I received I felt confident enough to give him a try. I am glad I did. When we pulled up to pick up the car, I exclaimed to my wife, "look someone else has a car like ours getting done." Then, after a few seconds, I realized that it was my car that was looking all shiny and new! The job Victor did resurrecting my car was nothing short of amazing. After the walk around and payment, Victor made some suggestions about getting the rims refurbished, driver's seat leather repair and front bumper repainted. After some discussion, we elected to do all of these things, with the satisfaction guaranteed by Victor. An appointment was set for three weeks down the road. When I finally took it in it was a little dusty from my garage, and by the time I got it back with the services rendered above, Victor had it once again, uber cleaned. Brendan had forgotten to recheck the spots after he finished our 3rd car but would come by later that week to take a look. I needed a standard interior cleaning for my 2014 Ford Focus and was initially quoted $189, which I was prepared to pay given my tight schedule and previous rescheduling due to weather. However, the final price more than doubled due to what they called "condition-based" upselling, which caught me off guard. I get upsells for things like stain removal, but I was disappointed that the price increase wasn't communicated clearly upfront, and I ended up paying $387.11 out the door. Also, though the cleaning quality was fine, the way the technicians handled my dash cam cord was careless--it was left hanging out instead of tucked back into the car ceiling and the charging portion was left hanging out of the door and ended up breaking when I started driving. They also left trash like expo markers around my car, which felt disrespectful to me and the neighborhood. The most unfortunate part was when I raised the concern about an over doubling of price as a first time client, their response was largely dismissive and defensive, repeatedly citing the terms and conditions I supposedly agreed to without addressing the substance of the issues. As someone who values good client relationships and transparent communication in business, this was frustrating and not how I've seen successful local companies operate. While the cleaning itself was fine, the pricing surprise, property damage, leftover trash, and poor customer service means I can't recommend Dennis Auto Detailing right now. I hope they improve their communication, process, and respect for customers, as customer feedback is probably the most valuable thing a company can have.
