These days it seems like you can't ask anything without someone turning it into something political, and that's not what I came in for. I did go back for a second visit, and that experience was completely different -- much more easygoing. I guess it really just depends on who you get. Still, that first impression was annoying enough that I've never looked back since. If you decide to visit, I recommend coming with a friend, especially if it's your first time. One thing I always appreciate about here is how friendly, caring, and informative everyone is. My left ear was pierced without any issues. However, when it came to my right ear, the piercer asked me to lean across toward her instead of moving to my right side or repositioning me. As soon as the piercing was done, I could tell something wasn't right. It went in at an angle and became painful almost immediately after I left. My left piercing is healing fine, but I'm concerned about the right one because it seems slanted and may take much longer to heal. This felt like a preventable issue, as simply repositioning me or moving to the other side could have made a difference. Very disappointing overall.

Walking in and up the long staircase, proved to be thrilling on a late October evening. There's…read morelarge paintings that lined the wall and just at the top of the staircase, I saw a skull that looked as though it was sitting at the top - due to my perspective. It was really just sitting on a display table with art and more art. Definitely my vibe. I love art studios and seeing how other artist set up their creative spaces. I don't have any tattoos, but I wanted to go to a tattoo parlor for some new ear piercings, because I knew they would do a great job just from WOM. Looking around, I enjoyed seeing the butterflies in display cases and didn't think too much of all of the animals placed on walls and desks. Juvenal (the artist) told me the owner enjoys taxidermy, and I very slowly accepted that these were real animals. The irony of being able to sit at a museum and draw stuffed animals without a care, but now in this setting seemed eerily fitting. Juvenal did my piercings. They're perfect! I've been wanting to do this for years. I don't have a good excuse to why it took so long. But I know it was the right time. I bled. 0.o Fitting for the setting, eh? They were all cool people, too - Juvenal, Ernie & Tany. We chatted a bit before I left. The whole thing was an experience.
