This is hands down one of the best dental offices I have ever been to. Right when you walk in the front desk staff is so friendly and can answer just about any questions that you may have. The setting is beautiful and honestly it is comfortable and doesn't have that usual gross dentist smell to it, so it helps ease some of the stress and anxiety before the appointment. Every person that I have made contact with in this office has been so pleasant. It had been 5+ years since I had been to the dentist and I didn't feel one ounce of judgement come from anyone. The dental hygienist was so friendly and explained everything that she was doing and helped me understand the questions i had. I saw Dr. Ha and she was absolutely terrific! She explained everything to my understanding and answered every question I had too, no matter how redundant or silly it may have seemed. Each of the dental assistants i have dealt with have been so friendly and personable. Unfortunately, I had to make quite a few trips in a short amount of time (not by their faults) but, they worked around MY schedule and made sure I was taken care of. Also I have never sat in the waiting room for longer than 5-10 minutes. There really is so much I could say about every aspect of this office but, most importantly they put their patients first. They make sure their patients are taken care of before they are worried about their income. They were willing to work with me and were very helpful on the financial side of things as well. The dentist honestly doesn't need to be a nightmare appointment, and the team at Northfield Family Dental knows how to make someone more comfortable about the dentist. Update: you know after you set up a payment plan with a doctor, they shouldn't be calling you and bullying you to make more of a payment. Their bedside manner the last time I was in was absolutely appalling and now I'm having to go to another dentist because the crown they put in isn't placed right because they let their DENTAL ASSISTANTS do the work.. I won't be back. Unfortunately, I gave them too much of my OWN money before getting a second opinion and getting the crown done right. My mistake but hopefully I can deter other people by making the same mistake I did. They don't communicate with you very well on the work they are doing with you either. This place is very nice on the Inside and i dealt with a small handful of nice employees that they had there, so I won't be totally negative about the place, but I won't be back and definitely do NOT recommend. read more

When I first started going here, I really enjoyed the employee's and friendly atmosphere of the office. But over time with lots of staff leaving, the quality of customer service really went down after that. Even just going in for a 6 month cleaning, the hygienist I saw would always hurt my gums and apply a lot of pressure then tell me I needed to floss more. They would also charge me each time for something they put on my teeth (I forget the name of it) without even asking me if I wanted it (my insurance only covers 1 a year). I felt I would share this review now because after going to the dentist for the last 2-3 years, they cancelled my appointment without a phone call to reschedule. The clinic changed theirs hours effective Jan 1, 2024 but didn't inform me of this change until 2 business days before (my appointment was June 4, 2024). I believe that if the clinic is cancelling a customers appointment due to clinic reasoning/changes, it is THEIR responsibility to CALL the customer. Not send automated texts. read more

In the last year or so, I feel like every time I go visit them, they recommend something additional that I need to do. They told me that they will recommend that I do a deep cleaning. At the moment, I said yes and scheduled an appointment. After speaking with friends who are dentist, they shared that they do not love the laser treatment, so I called to say that at the moment I just wanted a normal cleaning, and the response was that LEGALLY they can only do the deep cleaning, which of course is $500 more. They said they can't do a normal cleaning. Really Legally? This is telling me that they are no longer dentist but they just want to make the most money they can by legally making you accept additional treatments that the dentist told me were a recommendation. Avoid this dental practice. They're like the COMCAST of dental practices. Espire uses shady business practices and threats of sending you to collections to bully you into paying for services that you never agreed to or were notified about during your visit. They try to upcharge insurance by billing for things like flossing instruction or cursory cancer screenings that should be included with a standard dental exam. I was told by the office staff that I didn't owe a co-pay for a visit, then received a bill for $10 months later because my insurance wouldn't cover the bogus flossing instruction charge. Most recently, they sent me a bill for my husband that was almost 2 years old. They had only tried to contact him once in those 2 years, and that bill was sent a year ago. The bill was also for a $10 charge, this time for cancer screening. They also erroneously listed me as the Responsible Party for my husband despite me never going to an appointment with him, him having separate insurance, going to different dental offices, and neither of us listing or consenting to me being the responsible party for him. read more

The dentist was fine but I am only giving 2 stars because they had an untrained temp to clean my teeth. By untrained, I mean not a certified dental hygienist. The temp clearly didn't know what she was doing. It was a very messy experience. When I said something to the lead tech, she snipped that they had the right to use non dental hygienist to do the cleanings. Yes you do have that right, but you are getting a 2 star review. I wish I had known this before I came in so this is an honest review to warn others. read more

This was not a good place for me to go to and I once requested another dentist because of a filling that was not done correctly and the dentist came and stood close to me and barked "Is there a problem?" RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION! I was impressed by all of the smoke and mirrors but they did thousands in damage and then just kept having their other affiliations try to fix things and blame it on everything aside from their own negligence. I have the pics of the chemical burns from miss-formulated adhesives that were used and emergency dentist and ER visits from things that were on my xrays for extended periods and never treated but then when they failed, it was my fault despite having been in their offices and having xrays taken numerous times each year. One root canal cost me 4 visits back and forth complaining with pain and they just kept telling me it had a root canal and therefore it was impossible for me to be feeling pain there. Then I went to an Endo specialist and there was a large root fragment readily noticeable and causing the issues. Needless to say this was NOT The endo specialist that they referred me to - it was ONLY AFTER I WENT OUT OF WHERE THEY WANTED ME TO GO THAT I RECEIVED THE TRUTH. Slippery is a definite understatement! (I even have multiple voicemails saved from their staff asking me to come back in for them to make it right and promising me free night guards and other services for my trouble, pain, injuries and inconveniences!) Just because they merge and file a new business name it does not change the repeated cover up of their failures! I referred several of my coworkers to one of their offices and FOUR of them have also had to go to outside non-referred endo specialists for root canal retreatments. I am having a horrible experience with this place. I had my first appointment in Feb, 2020 to get treatment for my tooth with crown and the doctor told me I had replace all my fillings and based on the amount they quoted I agreed to have fillings and paid all my charges and was told that it was all the cost I had pay. Now, in April I received additional bill of $423 that I had to pay. If it costs that much I would not replace the fillings when I told them about it Emmy (the person who handles billing questions) said it was my responsibility to find out how much my insurance cover. I did not even have any issues with teeth I had filling but now I am in pain and can not chew on my left side at all. The doctor took xray and told me that decay was too close to nerve. I believe he should be responsible for it and should have warn me before doing it and when I mentioned about it Emmy said that I signed on the consent that if something is wrong I am responsible for it and still have to pay services I received. In the end it was my fault that I trusted their doctor and their services. Now I went there with no pain and after spending all the money and time I have pain and additional bills I have to pay. I just cannot believe why I am receiving a bill after 2 month and really regret I trusted their service. Be very aware of what they are offering and do not trust them. They knew I was in pain and the cause of it is the decay was too close to nerve after taking Xray and they did not even ask me how I am doing and instead they sent me additional bill. One star is one too many. Last September I broke a tooth, made an appointment with Dr. Cardon he said we need to save the tooth so I said you know what's best. He reconstructed the tooth, then he said I needed a root canal. The root canal took two visits, then a visit to have the crown put in. All in all, it took many visits and many dollars out of my pocket. Well, yesterday a year after all this was done the crown and part of the tooth pops out of my mouth, I'm not even eating, I'm on my way to the doctors office to prepare for knee surgery. The doctor tells me I can't see the dentist for three months after this surgery. If the dentist would have done this right the first time I wouldn't have to go three months without a tooth. The last thing I wanted to worry about before knee replacement surgery was bad dentistry! read more

VERY IMPRESSIVE!! The staff followed the Covid19 guidelines from before I entered the practice until checkout. Angie made me feel very comfortable prior to Dr. Rogers doing a filling as getting my teeth worked on not one of my favorite things to do. Dr. Rogers was amazing during the entire procedure with Angie assisting. It went smoothly and I felt no pain or discomfort at all. Practice is very clean and the entire staff was knowledgeable and friendly, beginning with Amy at the front desk. It is not close to where I live but I will be back for ALL my Dental needs. Do not bring your children to see Dr. Rogers. He does not appear qualified to treat children at all. At my daughters first visit, he appeared afraid to look in her mouth. He never actually looked inside. He then called me to come back in the same day because he was wrong about her age and wanted an X-ray. I went back several hours later and basically held my 1 and a half year old down to take an X-ray and put it in her mouth myself. He then told me she needed a blood test to see what abnormality was causing her front teeth to not come in. If he had actually looked in her mouth, he would have seen the teeth had already broken through. After a scared pediatric appointment and second opinion, she was completely fine. I assumed he was just a newbie and let the whole event go. Well, after returning with my 5 year old son several times, i realized he just didn't know what he was doing with children at all. My son cracked a tooth and he said it was fine and to come back if he's in pain. Well 2 months later he was in pain and Dr. Rogers filled it. 6 months later another tooth cracked and dr. Rogers said it needed a filling but couldn't do it that day. He again called me after an appointment to tell me my son needed to see a someone else and he was just too busy to tell me that in person. Really?! I ended up at a pediatric dentist and my son had 2 root canals, 4 fillings and 2 caps put on where Dr, Rogers incorrectly treated him and incorrectly filled a tooth. Poor kid went through so much. DO NOT bring children to this office! The billing department also seems off and continuously sent me incorrect bills. read more

I found out that my 2nd teeth cleaning ($68) was denied by Delta Dental because it was done on June 15th less than 6 months out from my 1st teeth cleaning on Jan 6. I argued with the Northfield Family Dentistry office manager that it was their front office person that schedule my 2nd cleaning appointment in person at the time I finished my 1st cleaning appointment. Told her they made the mistake of scheduling my 2nd appointment out only 5 months and not 6. She argued the fact that I should had caught that too, and it's my fault. It's very unfortunate that I'm having to pay $68 out of my pocket when it should had been covered by my dental insurance. Northfield Family Dental should at least acknowledge their mistake and put in parameters so this type of scheduling error doesn't happen to somebody else. read more

I first established care with Northfield Family Dental in fall of 2020. It was a great experience and it was quick to get in. Fast forward to 2021, it is near impossible to get a 6 month cleaning appointment. I couldn't get an appointment until September 2021. I'm sure I'm not the only one who forgets when they schedule an appointment so far out, so I was semi relying on their call/letter/message about my upcoming appointment. They called me at 5 pm the night before my 8 am cleaning appointment. Unfortunately, I work in health care and had a patient visit I couldn't miss. Therefore, I had to miss my appointment and can't schedule another for several months. Furthermore, I got charged a $50 missed visit fee. Horrible customer service these days and I am not planning on going back there. Luckily, there are about 20 other dental clinics in the area to choose from. read more

After trying this place several times I'm not going back. They have had to re-do their work on a few procedures that I have had, my partner's as well. They always recommend the highest priced materials and procedures even though there are alternatives. When you ask them about the alternatives they start treating you like a 2nd rate citizen. Last interaction that ensured them losing my business is I'm getting a bill 6 months after a procedure that they said insurance would cover. Even if insurance didn't cover, why does it take 6 months?! Sounds like fraud to me, I'll be investigating. read more

Wow. Dr. Ha has preformed several procedures for me, and each time has called me either the same day, or the next day to check on my status and make sure I was ok. She has answered my calls and texts late at night, and was patient and understanding with my concerns. She possesses a bedside manner unlike any dentist I have had before. I was initially hesitant to start with a new dentist, as I am new to the area, but I felt right at home and knew I was in good hands immediately. I did not have a good experience here. The staff was nice, but they told me they couldn't clean both my top and bottom teeth since I had not gone to the dentist in a year, and my teeth were stained. They also told me I had a cracked tooth and needed a crown. Since it wasn't hurting me, I decided to wait. 7 months later I tried another dentist for a cleaning, and they couldn't believe I had only had my bottom teeth cleaned in my previous visit. Not having time to do both seemed unheard of to them! Also, my teeth still don't bother me and the new dentist couldn't find any cracked tooth that needed a crown. I have them 2 stars because the admin person was prompt about sending my xrays over. read more

I am sure, like most people - you generally hate the dentist. I have to say for the first time in my life I actually like my dentist. Dr Varley and his staff are truly wonderful. I needed a decent amount of dental work done, they were extremely professional, facilities were comfortable and the price was affordable. They explained everything to me along the way. Dr Varley personally phoned me the night after all my dental work was complete to check in and make sure I was feeling fine. Year 2021 has been full of surprises with Northfield Family Dental; new front desk staff, new dental hygienist (or students!) and new doctors! Had to do 6 fillings that were not identified in the previous years! I was told by the front staff that I have good insurance and my fillings are fully covered! After I came out from the 2nd set of fillings (final one), the front staff tells me I already maxed out and I had to pay for the previous one plus the 2nd one out of pocket! I argued saying why did you tell me that my insurance would cover everything and why didn't you tell me at least before I went inside to do my 2nd set of fillings which, if I knew, I would postpone for next year! She said she is not supposed to tell me that! Ended up paying almost $1,000 and she also cancelled my next cleaning appointment saying that's not covered. However, I called my insurance and found out that even if I am maxed out, cleaning is 50% covered! Called her Supervisor and she verified with my insurance and said that's true! Fillings - looks like they were not done correctly, went back twice to fix but I still have pain and sensitive! So, BE AWARE... as she tells, it's NOT HER RESPONSIBILITY to tell you if your insurance covers or not! read more

Dr.Varley is honestly the best Dentist I have ever met, took his time to explain all my dental work needed and showed me with pictures what is really going on inside my mouth. My first impression of this dental office was a good one. The building was new, everyone was friendly, the cleaning was comfortable and quick but thorough. However, things quickly went downhill. I was told that I had a cavity on nearly every molar, and needed them all filled (a pricey endeavor). I haven't had that many cavities my entire life, and I take very good care of my teeth, so I was pretty shocked. I happened to be visiting my hometown not long after my initial visit here, and decided to get a second opinion at the dentist I saw for most of my life. They didn't find a single cavity, and were confused as to how another dentist came to that conclusion. Needless to say I called to cancel my upcoming appointment at Northfield Dental to have the non-existent cavities filled. When I called I told them that I got a second opinion and was told I didn't have a single cavity, but the receptionist didn't even acknowledge that. I thought all was done with this particular practice at that point, forgetting that I had my next 6 month cleaning already scheduled. Fast forward 6 months, and I get a call reminding me of my appointment. I told them, again, about the incorrect assessment I got when I was there for my first appointment, and that I wanted to cancel my upcoming appointment. I was told it was cancelled and thought all was good. Three hours later I received a missed called and voicemail looking to confirm my appointment. A few hours later I also had a text message to confirm my appointment. So, I called them back again, to once again tell them that I have no desire to have an appointment there, and had to explain that no, I did not want to reschedule. Bottom line: I would be wary of the services they suggest doing here, especially if they suggest expensive and extensive work. read more

I had a great experience this morning with this incredible staff. It started with an extremely easy scheduling process over the phone last week! Dr. Varley and his staff were very professional, the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable, and their ability to explain things simplistically was incredible. I am not a big fan of going to the dentist (I only go because I am suppose to every 6 months) but they truly made my obligation pleasurable and I will recommend this place to everyone! Dr. Varley is an amazing dentist, made me feel very comfortable and did a great job. He called me the same night to see how i was doing and to see if i needed anything. I have never ever had that before. Mac and Jenny in the front office are awesome, welcoming friendly lovely people. They have also picked up the phone to call and check on me. The dental assistants are also AWESOME girls, they make you feel as comfortable as they can, if you need anything they do whatever it is to help you. They work with your schedule and work with you on payments. I highly recommend anyone to use Dr. Varley as there dentist. I will continue to go to him for as long as i can. This office NEW with all NEW technology that is AWESOME. read more
