Let me summarize this very quickly. Use to be great, now rundown with broken equipment that doesn't get fixed for months, if at all. All while steadily raising your monthly dues and not maintaining the gym. Summary... *Constant Broken Equipment, missing grips, missing or broken pins on weight machines (see photo) *Recovery Chairs have been broken for months and reported to management several times. They know, but don't fix. (See photos) Soap Dispensers filled with water, NOT soap, but water for weeks! Big health hazard. Reported to front desk and they said, "we know, the soap is on back order". YOU KNEW AND DIDN'T GO BUY SOAP AT COSTCO OR WALMART IN THE MEANTIME?! WTF! If you want to act like LA Fitness, change your name and drop your rates. If you want to be an elite gym, do a lot better. And I held off a long time before blasting Lifetime Scottsdale on here, so do better please. read more

As a 13 year member of Life Time Fitness North Scottsdale, I've seen plenty of management come and go, but the current group fitness leadership is easily the worst. Several of my favorite instructors are no longer there, and when asked, I've been told "I don't know", which is concerning in itself. Management should absolutely know what's happening with the instructors they hire, and they do, they just lie to your face to keep the peace. Later, finding out it's due to "low participation," which is hard to believe when I've personally seen classes with far fewer members remain on the schedule much longer and even management-led classes with only 2-3 people continue without issue. The inconsistency is obvious. After more than a decade of loyalty, it's frustrating to watch what was once a strong, community-driven program be undermined by poor leadership and questionable decisions. read more

I've been a loyal member for years, and it's honestly disappointing to see the condition this gym has fallen into. The locker rooms and sauna are consistently dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. The sauna especially feels neglected grime buildup, bad smell, and clearly not cleaned nearly enough. What really pushed me to leave this review was getting an email saying my membership rate is increasing with barely a month's notice. When I questioned why loyal members are paying more while the facility conditions continue getting worse, I got no real explanation or effort to keep my rate the same. If rates are going up, the cleanliness and upkeep should at least reflect it. Right now, it feels like members are paying more for less. read more

The Lifetime on Chauncey Boulevard is horrible! We were told the outdoor pool should be open by February 21, but now its March and they still are not open. Additionally all the lap swimmers are bunched into the indoor pool and the management is still allowing the water aerobics to take over lanes in the LAP pool. A compromise is called for, such as capping class size of the water aerobic classes until we lap swimmers have the lanes available outside. Lap swimmers are getting treated poorly by the management. When I mentioned this issue to the front desk over a MONTH ago, I was brushed off. read more

Overall my experience has been very positive, but the pricing is hard to justify at $250 a month, especially when you only get one guest pass for the same person every 60 days. It's just crazy how discriminatory this location is to basketball. There are two very large racquet ball courts...which is awesome because it's a great sport that doesn't get enough credit....its just insulting that they converted one of the racquet ball courts into a private pickleball coaching room that is for the most part completely empty most of the day. Waste of space. But hey it brings them in a few extra dollars. Add a basketball hoop in it at least. When pickup basketball is going on there are simply way too many people and not enough hoops. Most gyms with one basketball court are good at installing hoops on the side as well...like Lifetime Biltmore. They can easily figure out a way to add a basketball hoop into this racquetball room on the side wall. Way too accommodating for the pickleball. It goes to show Lifetime's prioritization of money. the kids academy + pickleball bring in extra money. So they have no issue with scheduling the summer camp 6am-7pm only on the basketball court. The racquet ball rooms are huge and they likely can do their summer camp there or even in their full allotted space for the actual kids academy. The kids academy room is gigantic yet for whatever reason they love screwing over basketball. Just hate to see it. This is one of the hottest states in the USA so limiting the basketball is quite sad. There are so many people who go to this lifetime so there is not enough room with two hoops for the amount of foot traffic. I've talked to many people at this location and they agree yet no one ever says anything. Figure it out. Also the cold plunge constantly has dead flies floating in the water. It's gross. Men's locker room smells horrible. Women's locker room apparently has construction men in it from 9am-5:30pm doing renovations...creepy for women to deal with. The shower pressure is trash in the locker room. There are ants in the inside swimming room and in the lifting area sometimes. Treadmills broken all the time. No way to put the NBA/NFL on the TVs upstairs. If you ask they'll just shrug and say it's not possible. There are no remotes?? No one wants to watch some random food channel when the NBA playoffs were on. Make me the manager of Lifetime and I'd fix all this crap immediately. I'll name some positives to not make this review too bitter: The Squat rack room on the lifting floor is always great. The indoor pool is the best part of this location. No other Lifetime locations have the indoor pool. The swim meets can be annoying and take priority over paying members but at least they leave some lanes open. Very large jacuzzi that fits a lot of people. Glad they added the cold plunge, great add, it just is always not maintained well enough and is gross. The 4 massage / cryo chairs are the best. Especially the ones that cool/heat. The chairs for the leg covering massages are also great. Speaking up for all of the people who used to love basketball at this location. The pickup games back before the addition of pickleball were much more expansive. Perhaps this location should buy some more land and get some indoor tennis courts at least like the Las Vegas Lifetime location. Tennis is a much more real sport than pickleball anyway read more

First the bad, she is a lil long in the tooth and at peak times the clientele have no etiquette. The good far outweighs the bad. From the lovely scent they provide in the entrance lobby to the maintenance level on the equipment and the general high caliber of the staff all these things are so much better than other places. I love the giant sauna with a view of the pool, so much better then being shoved in a box that feels like you pissed off the warden at the penitentiary. Now, If you don't need a pool or hot tub then there are better options like mountainside but if you want the full service and especially if you skip the peak hours then this is one of the best clubs around. The price is ever increasing so the value for the money is not amazing but the workout is terrific. read more

Without question the worst gym I've ever been to with the lowest value. They charge through the roof for amenities that have been broken the entire time I've been a member, when basically every other gym in the area has the same amenities but charges a fraction of the price for a membership. Tell them no worries. By the way. We have your consult with the stretch guy, not knowing what your needs are. Just to funnel You into buying way over priced stretches. If you are elderly. Watch out. Just a big money grab, the client is just a piece of cattle. For the privilege to go to Lifetime? It's $40 across the street. I was visiting Scottsdale for a week from our home in Edwards Colorado. There is no yoga in Edwards Colorado. I had the opportunity to attend three yoga classes during my week in Scottsdale. The yoga community at the lifetime north Scottsdale is amazing. So kind and welcoming. I cannot say enough about the instructors! They are articulate, skilled, kind, gentle and challenging. I normally attend yoga at lifetime Ft Washington Pa. The classes at the "Fort" are also amazing. It was wonderful to be able to walk into a lifetime and feel at home. I just joined this gym and am very satisfied with my decision for several reasons. The club is spotless.... They maintain an extremely hygienic and sanitary club from the showers and changing areas to the actual equipment and the restaurant and overall club. I have been in the club from early in the morning till late in the evening and I can say this is consistently spotless. The club always has parking available, every single person that greets you as you walk in is friendly and calls you by your name. I am fortunate to have met Maya, in of the personal trainers upstairs. She is phenomenal and has helped me set up a workout plan that is just right for me as I know it is attainable and also challenges me to the pint where I have seen a difference in my strength. Lifetime fitness is charging luxury prices and delivering McDonald's service. I just got the at 7:55pm to sit by the pool and relax for a bit. They came and informed me that they close the outdoor pool at 8pm. This is Phoenix Arizona where the daytime temps get near 120 degrees in the summer. I called the manager, Kama, he said initially it was because they had some issues. I told them I understand but they should revoke their memberships rather than punish us all. Then he said he had reviewed the cameras and not many people were using it and that is why. I asked what does that, according to their own life guards they are not required to be out there for people over 12 years old. Which means no extra cost on them. The pool used to be open until 11 but it definitely feels like they are trying to reduce service to people while increasing prices. Lifetime should not allow local managers to make these decisions without consultation from corporate. I have had this type of thing happen at multiple lifetimes around the country. From closing pools to closing basketball courts to closing racket ball courts etc. This is NOT WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR. read more

A large gym that caters to the individual and the family The maintenance staff are amazing. The gym facilities are good. Although the temperature inside on the gym floor could be cooler. My understanding, from asking, is that temperature is controlled by corporate offices. It is HOT in Arizona and corporate is in a cold state. More sanitizer stations need to be placed around as any gym is a giant germ fest. There used to be an easy access sanitizer at the top of the main gym floor. It was relocated to outside the basketball area. Not at all easy to access I have requested a new sanitizer but to no avail. As have many others placed a similar request. The evening yoga classes are excellent, particularly Wednesday 7pm class. The 9 am team fitness is good also. The team leader does a great job to keep the class motivated Team fitness could be improved if there was more space to workout and designated times to use the weights and machines. This is beyond the control of the instructor as he is under directions from this gym and corporate. The Tuesday 8:15 am bar bell strength is really good. This place has been open for about 17 years. Lately due to poor or disgusting management, it smells like ass. Not just any ass, but an old man's ass that you get to 'enjoy' the moment you walk into the front door. The ass smell is particularly disgusting on the first level which you can enjoy the cafeteria food while you smell ass. Lifetime just added 3-4 tables as a workcenter - so feel free to type a nice email to your boss, the smell of ass is FREE!! the Kids center, pickleball courts are also available on the first floor while you get free smells of shit - it is really disgusting. Honestly I'm not a fan. This is my personal POV. First time visiting and I will not become a member. I am giving this 3 stars because of the following: The Good... 1. The gym is massive with lots of amenities 2. There is pretty much anything and everything for an entire family and tons of classes from what I saw. 3. Lots of equipment to do probably almost any workout The bad and annoying... 1. This place is packed beyond (good for business) 2. The members are absolutely rude and non caring about anyone else. I literally had an additional 20 minutes to wait for ppl to get off machines. 3. So many ppl were on their phones "working out" and taking up machines. 4. I'm not sure how clean any of this is but I felt like it wasn't. 5. They only had one of each of the machines I used 6. I saw "trainers" and they were not paying attention to their clients at all. Not watching their form or anything. I'm not sure how to fix any issue and it's frankly not my job but if you like waiting for machines and rude members go here. I'm good. I am a returning member and say the club is very good overall. I recently moved closer and rejoined It is clean with plenty of amenities. It's basically a country club including a spa. It's always open and even has a cafe. I'm giving it 3 stars from my personal training and "free" two personal training workout sessions "included" with the new membership. The club assigns you one of the newer trainers who basically pressure sells you more workout sessions like a used car salesman. It's very cheesy hard sell tactics and the trainer doesn't give you attention until you sign. I signed up and was immediately billed for 4 sessions. I wanted to cancel my personal training after two sessions and was told "it's like buying a hamburger and taking one bite, the burger is yours." I wanted to apply the remainder to dues but was told the trainers operate differently and it's at their discretion. The trainer refused and I was stuck. Just BEWARE of the personal training scams. The included classes are fine. Skip the "free" trainer included unless you want to be hustled. read more

I must say he is the reason i wont be buying a massage or recommending this place. He came very aggressive with an attitude towards me saying he doesn't know anything and I had to wait for the to open and couldn't help me while chase nice guy took his phone out and helped me take a look at a booking a discount on the board. Rob was unprofessional, aggressive, and rude. If you have a bad day don't take it out at a customer in a high end gym the practices customer serivce. read more
