This is my first stop on my coffee tour and it wasn't on a good start. This coffee place has decent coffee at a high price. Locals say its just "Edgartown" but if you're going to hike up the prices at least great me with a friendly face. While Espresso Love serves breakfast all day, we are staying away from their breakfast burrito as it is just not good. The whole wheat burrito itself was half hot and half cold. One piece of avocado was buried inside, and was so small it needed a microscope to see it. Bottled salsa and a rectangular piece of tasteless "egg" makes this a sad way to greet the morning. read more

so i looked up this place before i went over there today and was expecting spectacular...and it was pretty good, but not really all it was built up to be. i liked the coffee i got, and the service was good, and the spinach and feta croissant. I remember working .... well sleeping on the counter... of the old Edgartown Black Dog in the off season (many many years ago) Thank the lord for your year round hours and "the mama" - the best homemade Garden Burger you will ever have. French bread, avocado, sprouts and a drizzle of spicy honey mustard... like heaven! Also, not sure what brand of chai they use (oregon?) but I love it. While riding our bikes around the island we were looking for a cool spot to have a little breakfast. Some very nice folks on the street recommended this place. The food was pretty darn good. The outside patio was a lovely place to sit and eat. The patrons were polite and respectful of each other. The only complaint I have is that the ordering process is a little chaotic. You place your order and then stand around waiting for it to be ready. It can get a little mobbed. I would suggest some kind of paging system so you can get the heck out of the way and the flow of traffic would go a bit easier. We wanted another sandwich but the crowded inside kept us from going back in. read more

I've been going here for 3 years when I've been on the island. This year was an improvement over previous years. It is always busy and if you order coffee and a hot breakfast item your coffee will come quickly and your breakfast will come much later. I just love the place anyway. One lazy Friday morning I dropped in here with a friend to grab breakfast. Espresso Love is housed in a picturesque little building, and at the time I went, packed! No one was being pushy or rude which was awesome. The help behind the counter was hospitable, and the people prepping the food were going full-bore, a welcome change from the usual chain restaurant indifference and wage worker soldiering. I liked their wide variety of cold drinks, and their coffee was pretty good. My bagel came out quickly, but then again, it is not difficult to toast a bagel, put a slice of cream cheese, tomato, and avocado on it. read more

We have a house on the Vineyard and come every summer. We always loved Coming to this cafe. Then, we have noticed a steady decline in service and quality. The food ordering has a big margin for error, especially when busy. The coffee the last two years and the food quality has gone done hill. After spending $7 for two coffee drinks yesterday, we tossed immediately, we left agreeing we would look for a new place to go. Disappointing. read more

Awful place.... I do not recommend! The place is filthy, I saw mouse poop and tons of flies in area where they where making my sandwich,and almost said forget it but felt funny doing so. When I sat down to eat my sandwich I had lost my appetite. I was so grossed out by how dirty the p;ace was. Which even made the experience worse was the young lady whom I ordered the sandwich from seemed quite friendly attractive, but to my surprise turned quite ugly when her co-worker came in. With her a thick accent she proceeded to yell at one of the young workers in front of eveyone that was sitting inside the small cafe. I saw the young girl get off of of a school bus and rushed right into Espresso Love same time as I did. She started yelling at this poor girl very loud. This girl had mega long fake lashes and heavy makeup on with blonde streaks in her hair. I wanted to ask her name because I felt so bad for the young girl that was humiliated in front of her staff and customers. She must have been the manager or the person that this young girl worked for or answered to. I am describing her so that other workers don't get in trouble there because the others where a blur. The manager or whatever she was had no decorum, was rude, load, and made everyone in the whole entire place look up with shock. This should have been taken in an office, not where all customers can see, which made me feel uncomfortable. It was the combination of mouse poo, flies, and yelling all wrapped up in one that juts made me lose my appetite. I don't write many reviews because it seems so time consuming but when I feel it's necessary I do take the time to voice my concerns when well deserved. If this woman isn't the owner, she should be fired. I will never go back to this establishment and nor would I ever recommend anyone to goto. I have been spending more time on MV but this will not be my goto place when I do. A must know it's dirty!!!!!! They are very unprofessional!!!!!! Not a good day at espresso love. Normally good quality but today was a struggle. Strange looking mozzarella on the caprese salad. Not that I am a fan of pickles but the one that accompanied my sandwich was way past fresh. The extra small serving of chips on my plate looked like they had been picked through. Made me think my lunch plate had been sitting around for quite awhile. The sandwich itself was tasty. Pricy for the low quality. The interior needs a major cleaning. Staring at the major cobwebs with lots of egg pods was not very appetizing. read more

This place has really gone downhill in the last few years. It used to be the go-to coffee shop on the island. But they opened a spot in Boston and the Vineyard has suffered. They have been coasting on location for awhile. The service is lacking. They recently got my breakfast sandwich order wrong, and on top of that the middle was cold. They now close in the winter, using the Vineyard location as their summer people cash cow. There are so many other, better places in Edgartown. I would skip Espresso Love. read more

Yes, the lines are long but they move pretty quickly, yes it's crowded and a bit chaotic at times and yes, if you are used to coffee shops off-Island you might find the prices a bit high but I am more than willing to put up with, no, embrace all of this! The staff are friendly, the coffee is consistently good, the baked goods are fantastic, sandwiches and salads are always fresh and delicious and there is nowhere quite like it for great people watching - all this with free wifi and good tunes on the sound system - can't beat it! read more

In the crazy popular, expensive, busy, beautiful city of Edgartown (which I really loved) - this store is an absolute GEM! It's quiet, the food is really, really good, and there is covered outdoor seating or real outdoor seating (both in a parking lot, but really lovely actually if you ignore the parking lot. I got the BLAT on 12 grain bread with their spicy mayo on the side (not really that spicy). SO GOOD! The prices were absolutely reasonable and the food was so nice. read more

Espresso Love was on our Air B&B host's "must visit" list...but when the barista didn't bother to dump out the 1/4 cup of melted ice left sitting in the bottom of the cup before proceeding to make our iced mocha, we felt it a bit overpriced at $5. (Especially when we heard her first comment to her prep help to "please stop bringing her these cups of melted ice like this"...clearly she noticed the problem, but she felt no need to rectify it??!) We liked the shaded outdoor seating area, but next time we'll go back to Morning Glory Farm for their coffee and relaxed outdoor seating area instead of patronizing this place again. read more

The service was OK and they seemed new to the job, in fact, appearing worried, which was unusual, because we went there off-season. I've tried it multiple times hoping it wouldn't be as bad, but the baristas have always been rude and slightly snobby when I was there. Usually love espresso love but very frustrated with service today. Ordered a Caesar salad with chicken, was given a salad with no dressing. Went inside to ask for Caesar dressing, but they told me there was something wrong with the Caesar dressing and offered me ranch. Frustrated that they decided to deliver my undressed salad thinking I won't notice rather than alert me of the issue and allow me to order something else.
