Our favorite chairs were getting very sad looking because they had been so comfortable for so long. We looked for new ones but never found any that had the comfort and style of the old ones. We started to look for someone that could reupholster in leather, spent a lot of time looking into reviews and recommendations.When we walked into EssaStudios we new we had found the right place. I had Ehsan reupholster my wife's Grandmother's sofa, we had been putting off this task for a long time. Ehsan was extremely patient during every step of the way. And he is a very good listener. I visited his shop in San Rafael to see for myself, and get some fabric samples. Once Ehsan and his work crew got started, they were extremely thorough, and repaired everything that was needed. They even completely replaced a whole new set of springs, which they were not obligated to do. The original springs were not installed properly. Some of the original springs were OK, some not, but all were installed improperly, so they just entirely re installed, correctly, all new springs. It took us a while to settle on a fabric choice. I recently acquired a family chair that my uncle purchased in the mid 1970's. This mid-modern Danish chair was in very poor condition. While it looked terrible, it was still very comfortable and I had fond memories of the days my uncle enjoyed sitting on it. I was just about to give it up and in a momentary flash of genius decided to have it re-upholstered. Being an old school guy, I got three bids. When I sent Ehsan the picture of the chair, his response was, "I know that chair." That kind of said it all Ehsan has a keen sense of design. I usually don't like flying on the airplane built by the lowest bidder, but when I met Ehsan I couldn't resist using his service. The rest of the process was very seamless. I cannot speak highly enough of Ehsan's upholstery business. I contacted him about a project that I had delayed for too long, but was eager to complete. He responded so quickly, and we set up a meeting within the week. Ehsan came to the appointment with sample books of potential fabrics. He was sensitive to my budget constraints and we picked a beautiful stain resistant option. The project was completed quickly, and Ehsan delivered the cushions to our home. The craftsmanship was excellent. My 10 year old cushions looked absolutely brand new, and soooo incredibly beautiful. This was an instant upgrade to my living room. Ehsan's work is beautiful and it's such a pleasure to work with him. He made us a custom slipcovered piece, and also completely reworked our old sofa - new arm shape, new cushions and slipcovers. Ehsan was patient, helpful, and thoughtful the entire time. I recently purchased the cutest little red stool at a garage sale. Unfortunately it did not have the seat. I looked around and found Essa Studios near me and asked if they would be able to take my little stool and add a nice seat to it. I picked out the brown & white cow hide and explained what I had in mind. Essa Studios exceeded my expectations for this little stool. I had couch cushions made by Ehsan and cannot be happier with them. They fit my couch frame perfectly and are comfortable and attractive. Ehsan had a lot of fabric options to chose from and I felt very comfortable throughout the entire process with his recommendations. In other words, I did not feel he was trying to up-sell me at any point. He is professional and a provided great customer service, answering all of my questions. I needed these cushions quickly and he had them done within a week at an extremely reasonable cost. The team at eSSa Studios did a fantastic job transforming my grandmother's (she was born in 1891) gooseneck rocker that was in her 'parlor' room at her old Victorian home into chic stylish piece for my personal use. He removed the old stuffing, re-used the original springs and helped me pick just the right red leather to replace the original fabric from those by-gone days. I hired Ehsan to develop three large custom window seat cushions. He did a wonderful job and it was so pleasant to work with him. He came over shortly after I initially contacted him with several books of fabric and helped me choose the best fabrics for our purposes. One of the window seat cushions was a bit odd and took a few rounds to complete. Ehsan was completely open to feedback and eager to get it absolutely perfect.
