Jorge is awesome! Professional and responsive! fixed my antique chair and it looks so good now

We have four beautiful tall wooden chairs with seat covers that we falling apart, with foam leaking out everywhere. Jorge replaced the covers with very nice new fabric, sturdier than what we had before, and replaced the foam with a better material too. Jorge has a variety of fabrics available in his studio, but if you want to choose a fabric that matches your home's interior, it might be a good idea to go to a fabric store and choose one in advance and bring it with you. The couch ended up being more expensive than the original estimate, so keep that in mind, especially if you're like me and using a vintage base (mine was a 1960s couch that had never been repaired so it ended up needing a gut repair) but I think in the end worth it indeed. read more

We have an older sofa. Over time, the seat cushions had lost their spring. A small job for sure, but Jorge did a good job. The cushions look great and more importantly, the sofa is again comfortable to sit on. read more

Wow! My chair cushions were embarrassingly raggedy and dreadful, but I brought them to Jorge, and now I just look at my chair cushions and smile - they look amazing! Jorge was so nice, and he had lots of excellent fabric choices - I opted for a fabric that can handle lots of sunshine, as my chairs are located right in front of a window. He gave me an estimate and a discount on the fabric which he already had and it happened to be a color and material I wanted. Jorge took his time and made sure I was kept in the loop on the progress. My vintage cantilever chair had seen better days. I began looking for ergonomic office chairs online but didn't like the cost or look of these modern chairs. Jorge recently re-upholstered my chair and ottoman, and he did a fantastic job! Both required quite a bit of work (new packing, work on springs, etc), but now I have a beautiful new chair that's as comfy as my old one but looks much better! Jorge was friendly and responsive, calling to ask questions about the job soon after I emailed him initially and texting a quote right away. He was responsive via text throughout the process and finished the job in ~4 weeks from pick up to drop off (including ordering filling material and fabric). Re-upholstering is not cheap, especially if there's structural work, but having gotten quotes from other shops/people, Jorge's prices were fair. I had a great old family chair that had fallen apart over the years and was basically unusable. I know nothing about furniture refurbishing but knew that it needed a lot of TLC. Three weeks after meeting Jorge I now have a piece that looks and feels amazing. Jorge is a terrific guy and an absolute expert at his craft. We needed our couch cushions testified after a decade. Jorge responded promptly to an inquiry, scheduled a visit to measure not just the cushions but also the couch they were in, and provided a reasonable estimate. We agreed to the proposal and dropped off the cushions. Jorge estimated a week and was done as estimated. The on-site measurements were critical because the previous restuffing (by someone else) ended up having smaller foam and padding, so the cushions loosely fit. We didn't realize that at the time, but the difference was immediately obvious when we put the restuffed cushions -- correctly sized -- back this time. This should lessen the chances of valleys occurring between the cushions, as happened to the previous restuffed cushions. I wanted the cushions very firm -- not a common request, it turns out, so not a typical material -- and I got exactly that. Yay! It's completely clear that Jorge knows what he is doing, and does it well. read more

I had the leather replaced on a wooden chair. Jorge met me the next day and basically had the chair refurbished in less than 24 hours and I picked up the chair the next day. I was not expecting that, I thought he would take a week or so. I thought he did a great job and he also replaced the webbing which I knew was ruined. I thought the price was reasonable and he saved me from buying a new chair that I might have cost $400-$500 and not have really liked. The chair is also part of set and I plan to get the other chair refurbished in the near future. Only catch is he is in Hunter's point and his studio is hard to find but he will meet you at a easy to find location. Also if you have the time walk around the new construction, art and parks around the area with great views of the bay. read more
